People are so judgmental that sometimes you need to put them in their places. I had my surgery on 10/26 as well, I'm down 42 pounds, and I'm so excited because I thought I would lose slower than this because I was a lap band revision. I had one person at work compliment how good I look while another said they really didn't see a difference. When it's all said and done I try my best to ignore because I'm wearing pants that wouldn't come up past my hips a few months ago!

MyFitnessPal--how do you as someone whose undergone WLS
ididit34 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm six weeks post op (about to be 7) and I wanted to start tracking my Protein and Water so decided to use myfitnesspal beginning yesterday. When I finalized what I eat, I received a message about how my intake was too low and would not be posted to the feed. I also got what I considered to be a long lecture about low caloric intake ad its disadvantages. Which leads to ask for those of you that use myfitnesspall, is there a special filter you apply? Also, is there another app you use for tracking? -

I had surgery on 10/26 and I got a headache yesterday for the first time. It wasn't too bad. I'm having such difficulty getting my Water in as well. However I can say that the water is going down better today than before. Hopefully by the end of next week, I'll be able to get all 64oz in. I've been drinking the Isopure water versus the shakes I were during the pre-op.

I thought what I could eat with my hummus today, and I came to the same conclusion!

Wow, sometimes it I can believe how I'm still surprised how professionals allow their personal opinions to cloud their professionalism. -

My date is 10/26 as well, and I'm on the two week liquid diet as well. I haven't cheated, had a couple of days when the stomach was protesting but otherwise hanging in there! -
Which brand of yogurt did you have if any during the pre op 2 weeks. I'm allowed one a day. This is day 6 for me and I had a yogurt for the first time yesterday. And I started to feel hungry which I haven't all week and later when I came home I got a headache. I can't remember the name because it was odd. You can get it at whole foods. It wa a nonfat 5oz yogurt,100 cal, 0.5g of fat, 5grams of fiber and 14 g of protein and 13g of carbs. How bad was this?

5 Days & Feeling Blue
ididit34 replied to JudeaJordon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm really interested to see how my psych will be after surgery. I started my two week liquid pre-op on Monday, this is the start of day 4 for me and I can honestly say that I've never really realized how much I mindlessly eat. Monday, I walked down the stairs to the subway, I live in NYC, and I could literally smell the catsup and salt on the person ahead of me fries in the a container in their bag. How bad is that! Earlier yesterday, I dreamt I was sitting at a bar with a big bowl of communal chili (don't ask why), and I took handfuls of chili and was eating it. How disturbing is that! I say this to say that I would imagine that a lot of us struggle with some sort of food addiction, which is why we are here today. Take one day at a time and don't give up. -
Day 2 done, now stomach is really protesting now! I'm trying to stay focused!

Surgical Clearance From Primary Doctor?
ididit34 replied to jayohayenene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The doctor that I've seeing for like 15 years declined to provide a clearance letter although she had all the pre op checkklist results and pre-operative lab work. Told me my plan doesn't require a PCP, therefore she wasn't mines (when I changed jobs, I picked my insurance based upon the fact that she accepts it). Thankfully, the surgeon recommended a doctor to me. -
