I just tried PB2 with low-fat cottage cheese. It was really good. I suspect you could even blend it and make it taste more like peanut butter

Let's do it..... June sleevers.... Roll call!

I had my sleeve done on June 1 -
Miralax is safe:)

I've used the Fairfield milk too. It's good. My NUT also asked that I add Protein powder to everything I can. Mashed mushies , etc. My NUT wanted me to stop the shakes, or at least reduce to 1/day but again its hard to get in the calories like that.
-
I'm 3.5 weeks out from the sleeve. Im only getting in about 600 calories per day. My surgeon was very strict on 3 meals per day and NO SNACKS. Only protein shakes if not getting at least 60 grams per day. I saw NUT yesterday and we decided I should eat every 3 hours. My question is how do you do this on the run when on mashies? And how to get enough fluids when you can't drink for 30 minutes before 20 during and 30 minutes after??. I'm good at home but when out I tend to miss out on getting my food in. I've only lost 12 pounds since surgery which is another reason NUT wanted me to eat more. Any suggestions??

I'm vertically challenged as well at 5'1". I'm only 16 days out from my sleeve. I realistically put my goal weight of 130. Who knows what I'll think when I get there but I as well can't imagine myself at 105. I didn't gain my weight until after puberty but even in middle school I weighed more:)

Wow my first "meal" 2 weeks after my sleeve. "MUSHIES" was 1 ounce of Krab with a dab of plain Greek yogurt with spices and four cooked carrot slices and I'm full! 20 calories!!! But it was lovely after 4 weeks of liquids!!

Heavenly:) -
Funny!! Ask 100 docs and get many different answers!! The "practice " of medicine lol ( and I'm in the medical field so I can say that!!!)

Well I'm two weeks out after my gastric sleeve. I finally came to the conclusion that I needed surgery because my niece just couldn't take the extra weight. Now my insurance covered it, so it was time to go. at two weeks out I'm down 7 pounds. 35 pounds from the beginning of the monitor process. So far the most difficult thing is the figuring out when I'm truly truly hungry and not just had a hungry or stomach pain. My surgeon just advanced my diet to mushy foods. Which means anything I can chew or squish down to a mushy consistency:)))) Life moves ahead:)

Glad you could LOL:)

Thanks. I'm only 2 weeks out and needed to hear this. Great article btw:) -
My hunger has improved. But I also think my surgical pain has improved and I added antacid when I have the gnawing pain. And I've been drinking more fluids. (I'm 12 days post op)

I also realized I have to set a timer for 30 minutes because I may not have been waiting long enough to drink after eating
-
My surgeon said 4 weeks if my own pool or hot tub otherwise 6 weeks:)

Did they really take half my tummy?
pacshari replied to sparkles1971's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too! Don't yet feel very restricted at day 10. -
I'm about one week out as well. I seem to be having the same issue. I feel hungry often. Sometimes it's just head hunger, but there are other times where it feels like gnawing hunger. I've always been under 500 cal a day, and have lost quite a bit of weight but I'm just wondering if the hungry feeling will go away. I think as the other suggestion is I'll try drinking more water.

I lost about 20 Pounds during my monitored diet. The thing that I found most helpful during that whole time, is using my fitness pal app. Having to log every single thing that I ate made a big difference for me:) am now 9 days post sleeve. Doing pretty good but tired:)
