Two week pre-op diet protein shakes only help!
roseluv3 replied to Faithoftheheart's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey. I'm in the middle of my two week pre op liquid diet. But along with my protein shakes I can have broth, sugar free jello, and two sugar free popsicles a day, along with fluids. Today is day 3 and I have to say it wasn't so bad. The first two days were tough and I may or may not have cried yesterday while serving my family dinner. But everyone on here kept telling me to hang in there and it gets better. I was really skeptical but ya know what, they were right. Don't get me wrong....I miss chewing, but that urge is getting better and better each day. You can do it!!!! -
can't make my 3 good weigh ins to lose weight
roseluv3 replied to Lisa1171's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to loose weight before my surgeon gave me my surgey date so my doc told me to go on a low carb diet. I did low carb low fat low cal. So no breads, pasta, rice, dairy, fruit, and some veggies. I lost 20 lbs in 4 weeks. It's was really tough at the beginning but I had no choice. I kept my carbs under 20 net carbs daily -

June 24th! Any late June surgeries?
roseluv3 replied to muzical1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is scheduled for June 29th and I'm on my 3rd day of a two week liquid diet. -
My daughter is in girl scouts too! She's a brownie. The last during dinner a few nights I've rearranged furniture (lol), cleaned a bathroom closet, refolded all my kids clothes in their messy drawers, and I started keeping a journal so I'll write in that sometimes. Today's my 3rd day and so far it hasn't been so bad we will see when it's cooking time. ????

Sad about missing food
roseluv3 replied to Mcgann320's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had this happen to me yesterday. I'm on my 3rd day two week liquid diet. I was giving my kids dinner that my very very italian mother had made them. I was almost in tears serving my kids. I wasn't sure if I was crying cause I'm on a liquid diet or because I'm not sure if I will ever get to eat those food again. This was a reality check for me. -

Awww your so sweet! We can do this (well we actually have to do this). So today is day 3 and I'm trying to stay positive, active, and sane. Everyone keeps telling me that each day gets better and I'm gonna believe that. Good luck to you, you got this! ????

How long does it take to get used to the liquid diet before surgery?
roseluv3 replied to aliciac's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Today is my third day on a 14 day liquid diet and I'm not gonna lie its been tough. I have three small children and a husband so I'm constantly giving them food. I was giving the girls dinner last night and I literally had water in my eyes, not because I was hungry buy because I knew I couldn't have that. So I just dealt with dinner for them and then wrote my feelings down in a journal and that helped. You can do it, take each day at a time, look for surviving that day lol. -
I didn't have a food funeral...but I did kinda have a wine funeral. I'm on the 2 week liquid diet and I wished I did eat whatever I wanted because right now, I would die just to chew something. But I know I can get through this and it will be all worth it.

Thank you! I totally agree about chewing the vitamins, lol....that's sad though huh. Good luck to you as well!

You can do it! My stomach was grumbling today and I was just like "wahhhh" but I came home gave my kids a snack and I had broth. Yum! Lol.
-
I'm on day 5! It gets so much better. Broth is what I look forward too for dinner. Swanson makes flavored broths now. They are so good. Or I just strain a can of low sodium Soup. That adds a lot more flavor. good luck! Im hoping each day gets easier, and I know it will it's just mind over matter. I agree about the broth, I look forward to it after all the sweet stuff. Thank you! Good luck to you as well.

Don't be afraid. You can do this!!!!

I did keto before too but this is like extreme restriction, lol. I think it's just knowing that I can't eat that's the hard part. 2-6 pm is my tough time. The kids are home from school, they want a snack, then I have to get dinner ready. I'm gonna serve my family and then find something to do. Im hoping each day gets easier.

Tasting Room - Protein Drinks
roseluv3 replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I've tried my fair share of Protein powder. So my surgeon advice me to drink a low card low sugar Protein Powder. So I've tried: Bariatric Advantage vanilla powder (not bad, I like it mixed with milk. I like to add PB2, or 1 or 2 strawberries) Isopure Cookies and cream (Weird smell, but okay...again with pb2 it's better) Premier Protein chocolate (so good) Bariatric fusion chocolate (tried it with Water today and wasn't a fan, but will have it with milk tomorrow and it will hopefully be better. I am looking into trying the Syntrax nectar flavors....especially the fruit ones mixed with water. I also have a bariatric fusion strawberry that I will try probably tomorrow. -

June 29th Bypass Surgery
roseluv3 replied to smrogg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can have protein shakes, broth, sugar free jello, and sugar free popsicles, along with water. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Lol. I have the vanilla bariatric advantage and have been using it for a while with the pb2, it's not bad but it helps. The other day I threw a few strawberries in the blender with the powder and it tasted like a strawberry milkshake. -
Thanks laguerr13! I totally agree. The hardest part of today was preparing dinner for my family, but I survived. Onto day 2!

My vsg is scheduled for June 29th. I plan on taking bariatric fusion ( 2 a day) for my multi vitamin and then a sublingual b12 along with that (my surgeon gave me a pre-approved vitamin list). I'm supposed to start them when I get home from the hospital. I also take biotin because I don't want to lose or have thinning hair.
