@@GmaPam, I know! The stall can be discouraging. I have heard from a number of people who didn't just stall, but gained during the time. I too gained 1-2 lbs during my stall, but it did come off. Stay positive. The stall can last anywhere from 1-5 weeks from what I have heard from other sleevers. My doctor and other surgeons all seem to recommend upping your exercise. Maybe adding a few more minutes if walking. I know that my stall happened when I was unable to exercise because of my pulled internal stitch. Once I started waking again, just 20-30 minutes, I started losing again. Stay strong! I know it's terrifying but it's temporary even of it feels eternal. ????

@thingirlibsideme, I have 1 cup of coffee per day 5-7 days per week. I sometimes put a bit of instant coffee in my chocolate protein shakes for my daily cup of Joe. I'm not wigging out over 1 cup and neither is my Dr. Maybe you can try half caff? Chat with your doctor about acceptable options. -

@@rln, I was able to start driving once I was off the pain meds. Pre-op j was using GNC's Total Lean 25 powder shakes. I found the powder more filling and creamier than the pre-made Total Lean 25 shakes. Post-op, I do the pre-made since they are a bit thinner and go down easier. I do the powder Total Lean every so often but I use Water instead of milk. Also, I was using Unjury's unflavored Protein powder to get an added protein boost to my Soups and other foods. However, I've switched to Musclegen GENEPRO unflavored Protein Powder. I can only find it on Amazon or on Genepro's website, though. It's about $10-$15 more than Injury, but you get much more out of it because you only need 1 tablespoon to get 30g of protein. unjury is 21g for a larger scoop that is = to about 2-2.5 tablespoons. Additionally, the Genepro dissolves much better in food and drinks. In regards to diet, technically, I'm supposed to be on soft foods till 6/22, but I'm actually eating whatever. For the most part they are soft but this weekend at a birthday party I had about 4 chips but I just chewed them very, very well. Most foods are soft as long as you chew well, ya know? I try to limit my carbs because my nutritionist promotes the low carb diet, but I don't freak out. In my opinion I'm eating so little that a teaspoon of rice or 4 chips once or twice a week isn't the end of the world especially if everything else that enters my mouth had a high nutritional value. I do need to start upping my veggies because a high protein diet is killer on your lower digestive system. Fiber gumnie and stool softeners are a must. Lastly, I'm also taking 1 Probiotics pill daily. It has 4 billion active cultures or whatever the term is that they use. Supposedly, and you may be able to find more about this searching the boards, there was a scientific study that was done on bypass patients testing the affect of probiotics on weightloss and the group that had the probiotics lost a much higher percentage of weight. I know that was for bypass patients, but probiotics can help everyone even if they don't help me lose weight, IMHO they help digestion in general.I'll look for the link to the article and I'll post it. -

Doing great rln! I hope all works out for you! Where are you going for care? -
@GotToBeSlim, I get a wee bit o gas of I swallow too much air when eating but that happens very, very rarely. I haven't had really gas pains, but sometimes when I have a little gas in my stomach, the moment of it feels like hunger! It's cray! It happened 1 week out the 1st time. I was like, "WTF? I'm hungry? Why is my stomach growling?" Then I realized it was just gas. Again it doesn't hurt, it's just that the moment of the gas sounds and feels like your stomach is growling. I am hyper aware of my body since aware of any physiological changes. since surgery. By the way, if u need unflavored Protein, GENEPRO had a great one. It's 30g per tablespoon. It's totally changed my protein life. Keep up the awesome work! ????

@@Dysruption, the head hunger is horrible! We have a Mediterranean restaurant and Freebirds that sell food right in front of our office door. I smelled it today and immediate got hungry, but it was totally head hunger! Have you ever tried Zedrics or My Fit Foods? They have small plates that equal to about 3-4 meals for us. They are chef prepared and have the nutrients info on the containers. It's chef prepared food that is cold and in a microwave container ready for heating and eating. Those places have really helped me. It was hard cooking as a single lady to begin with. Now that I eat like a toddler, it's even more challenging.

Congrats! I'm in San Antonio, too! I'm 4 weeks out. How are you feeling?

Hiya! I had my sleeve on 5/18. I'm supposed to be on my 2nd week of soft foods but I'm really able to eat whatever as long as it's not to crunchy. I actually prefer to have shakes at least for one meal. Today was my first day back at work. So far so good. I hit the "3 week stall" in the middle of my 2nd week. It lasted about 10 days. It was discouraging until I realized it was very common. How are u doing Dysruption?

As far as feeling normal again it took me just a bit over a month to feel normal. And I never walked hunched over after my surgery so I'm not sure about that one. I concur. It's been 4 weeks from my surgery today. I just went back to work. It really took 2.4-3 weeks before I felt semi-normal. I was pretty shocked and disappointed initially bc it seems that many people have an easy recovery. I normally bounce back quickly but this was not the case with the sleeve. I never regret doing it, and I was very prepared for what could happen, I just always thought what could happen would not happen to me. Again, I had no major leaks but I did pull an internal stitch (worst pain I've ever had), had hibernation syndrome, and hit the annoying "3 week stall" in the middle of week 2 for a out 10 days. Stay positive. It will get so much better and easier. Just listen to what your body needs because your body will speak to you in a language only you can understand. Hope all is well! -

Isn't BMI great? I had trouble with fluids too the first 2-3 days, but what really helped was Sonic ice. It's much easier to get down the ice than water. Keep up the good work, and take it easy. -
