Who has had gallbladder problems after the sleeve or symptoms? I am experiencing symptoms and have been told it's due to rapid weight loss. Am calling my dr tomorrow to see. Anyone else? I'm 4 months out of surgery and have lost 105 lbs.

Girls- what kind of problems did you have with your period after surgery? I've had a couple early and now for two weeks long. I've heard abnormalities are normal for weight loss, but need some reassurance.

Gatorade is one of the main ways I get my fluids. That and Fairlife chocolate milk! Lifesavers

Do I have to eat Broth
Mcgann320 replied to jacqulineturner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Instead of broth try chicken noodle soup and drain the pieces... I loved the broth from that! -
PLEASE tell me I am not the only one who literally gets sad to the point of tears over not having food. I was sleeved 6/3 so am 8 days post op and the past couple days were hard, as to see why my body is healing nicely and I'm not worried about that, I'm worried about not having food. I am in full liquids but so ready for some density or flavor to eat. When I see people eat or food around it makes me sad almost to the point of tears! Your mind is such as strong influence I never realized how much head hunger I have. Oh & food commercials on tv used to be nothing.. Now I'm practically drooling over anything that pops up on tv edible. Yall am I alone?

I was sleeved on June 3rd as well and have lost 35 lbs but the past three weeks have slowed down drastically! I am afraid when I have my next dr visit he will be disappointed in the rate I am losing. I am struggling with getting enough protein and calories in a day! I cannot stand protein shakes or bars anymore so I am depending only on natural food alone. So I am right there with you!! I just have to take it day by day and do my absolute best for that day. You are not alone

Bad breath and taste
Mcgann320 replied to hopefulmom76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ketosis... Mine was horrible up about until week 6 it got better. Just wait it out -
I am 6 weeks out from surgery and have faster figured out this: chicken is good but makes me SO full and sits really heavy on my stomach, so I can only eat about two bites of a grilled tender. My sleeve DOES NOT like greasy or fried foods, and does not crave sweets any more (I used to could eat a whole box of little Debbie's a day). During my soft foods I started out eating baked fish and can NOT stand to smell, look, or eat it anymore. I don't know why this is. I honestly can't stand to stomach a Premier protein shake anymore. I've never gotten sick but it's just like my body is telling me please don't put junk in me anymore. I eat lots of deli meat, nuts, cheese, because it is light on my stomach! But I feel like my likes and dislikes are still constantly changing.

When do you feel the need to take your laxatives? I haven't gone in 4 days and am dreading any pain if I don't go soon. When is the point to take them for WLS patients?

Pregnancy after the sleeve?
Mcgann320 replied to raquel_c's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My WLS is very very strict though. But I'm sure a year would be fine -
Pregnancy after the sleeve?

How do you know you're full?
Mcgann320 replied to annasledge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eat slow... I now hiccup twice every single time I need to stop eating! You'll be able to tell that full feeling more when you're on soft foods and solids. And don't worry,.. You won't forget that full feeling and will try to stay away with it as much as possible! -
Post-op dumping on broth?
Mcgann320 replied to daveintx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I've never had dumping but as long as you're on liquids this kind of "movement" is normal, I wouldn't worry. It will take a long time for your "movements" to be anything like normal again lol -
Just curious... How much weight have you lost 3 months post op, 6 months post op, & 1 year post op. Post your stats!

I don't think they're dangerous, try adding some protein powder, milk, chicken stock, etc to thin it out and give you as much protein as you can get, since potatoes are all carbs. I'm not supposed to have any carbs until 3 months out.

What weight do you count from?
Mcgann320 replied to erika00000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I count my highest weight to current weight! But I also tell people about my surgery day weight too! -
Sargento Balanced Breaks! They have cheese, nuts, and dried raisins and 7g of protein-- it's a perfect pocket portion! Also I like the Oscar Meyer P3 protein packs, has variety of meats, nuts, and cheese. There's also in the same section at WalMart at the P3 packs, a protein wrap, similar to the one above... But has 14-15g of protein! I can only eat half of these at a time but they're satisfying. These are my top 3 go to snacks! They're not heavy and don't make me feel stuffed! Also, Fairlife milk has 13g of protein per cup... I drink the chocolate- it's heaven! Good luck and have fun at the beach!

When does the tiredness end?
Mcgann320 replied to DojiGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was tired real bad for the first week, and the second week was so much better, just got tired when walking and showering. Other than that, my surgery and recovery was a breeze. -
Has anyone tried Fairlife milk or their chocolate milk? It has 13 g of protein per cup. I bought some just haven't tried it yet.

Intubation and Drain Tubes
Mcgann320 replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was was intubated during surgery and pain from that was very very minimal. It was a little sore for a few days after surgery but nothing bad. The drain you can't feel at all! My drain incision didn't even hurt after they took it out. It doesn't hurt when they take the drain out its just a weird sensation. That's all I can say. Feels like pulling a long spaghetti noodle out. Don't be worrying about that! -
Bad Breath/Taste in mouth-sleeved June 22
Mcgann320 replied to mperez1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I have slight irritation with mine! Sometimes if I drink flavored Water or milk I can really tell. You're not alone! -
I just tried the chocolate! It's so creamy and fresh! Literally the best milk I've tried. I don't like white milk period... So the chocolate is a good choice for me! Plus I'm loving the 13 grams per cup... Mentally I'm so tired of protein shakes so this is a good alternative.
