2 1/2 Months Post Op And Pregnant
Angela replied to HamDan's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I just read your original post and wanted to offer my congrats and hope you and your babies are doing well! -
3 weeks post op today. I've started getting a pinching achy feeling on my right side. It's below my incision. My incision is not infected. If I rub the area it feels tender and kind of knotty. I explained to nurse, she didn't have any thoughts. Anyone else have this type of feeling?

So I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow and have lost 22 lbs. I have been stuck at this weight for a week. Quite frustrating! I know 22lbs is a great achievement but it seems like such a slow go. Just had to vent!

How many calories a day does everyone average? I was at 800, one month post op and was told that was too much, by my dietician. My daily diet has consisted of 2 protein drinks, with skim milk, cottage cheese, a yogurt. Dinner, small piece of chicken or fish and maybe 3-4 bites of vegetables! Help!

So I saw the surgeon today. He told me that patients that are converted from a band to rny don't get as great of weightloss compared to patients that have rny to start! Apparently with the band my metabolism has been slowed and will continue to stay that way unless I exercise more. My dietician also said that my average of 80-90 grams of protein is too much. So now she wants me to stick to 60 grams. We will see if this helps with the stall!

It does seem like that's where they are located. Glad it's not just me!

Does anyone else feel lumps in thier stomach? I have a few under my skin in my lower stomach. Maybe it's from using the lovenox injections? However I've been off those for 2 weeks.
-
Really? Lumps of fat? I guess I only feel them when I'm lying down also. I wanted to ask the dr but won't see him until Thursday.

Stage 1 Complete Tomorrow.
Angela replied to foxy747's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It gets so much easier! Hang in there! It's baby steps like you said!! -
My grandmother, a nurse, suggested that the instruments used probably were invasive to the area so your reply makes sense! Thank you so much! It's awesome to come on here and know someone has shared your experience!

Yes everything was fine. However it takes a while afterwards to turn your mind off from wanting 'bad' food. So the earlier you get in the mindset the better!! Then again its going to be a long time before you can splurge again! Some surgeons require a certain about of weight loss prior. Thankfully mine did not. Definatly do the clear liquid diet day prior and nothing by mouth after midnight prior to surgery. Best of luck to you!

I hate to tempt you but I cheated! It was super hard not to! I had McDonald's 2 days prior! Argh!!

How Has Gastric Bypass Surgery Effected Your Marriage?
Angela replied to katiethone64's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Totally understand that! Mine will eat 3 donuts in one day, directly from a box of cheeze its, in front of me. I suggested he have a small portion in a bowl. He acts like I'm crazy. He can eat and eat, he hasn't slowed down with my surgery. I was hoping it would make him more conscious of how he eats. It's torture for me. -

I'm 2&1/2 weeks post op. My husband can't wait for me to get in better shape so I will ride bikes, kayak and rollerblade etc. I don't look forward to those activities. I feel like he is making this about him. I understand he's excited for me to be more active but jeez! -
So last night I started puréed. Day 15, I had chicken and carrots. Today I had chicken and broccoli. Just a bit of uneasiness but so far so good! I guess i'm surprised! I feel like this is going 'too' good! Was anyone else this comfortable at this point?
-
That's great to hear! I'm so glad this is going better than expected!
-
Hmmm, those veggies are on my diet, I'll have to call dietician.
-
Thanks for responding! I see so many people on here that seem to be having a hard time. I guess it made me feel like maybe I'm not the norm! Lol!

What's the pain like that your feeling? One of my incisions became infected so that was quite painful but getting better. Are you able to walk? -
I have been cleaning house and started off walking 5 mins and adding 1 minute each day. I hate walking but have been told its like an addiction, soon my body will want that walk everyday.
-
How fantastic! Are either of you walking daily? If so how far?
