    Plain protein powder

I would like to know this as well;)
  2. Loved it! You look awesome!
  3. You are so strong! Satan didn't know who he was messing with! You've got this and the Lord will be with you every step of the way. Find that inner strength and get back to the gym. This time with your new sleeve. Just remember don't do anything to the extreme. Slow and steady, it's a marathon not a sprint! You are a survivor!! Keep us posted and let us know exactly how to pray for your needs. Now lay it down, take a deep breath, and trust God for the rest.

    Disgusted... So I'll just vent!

I'm so sorry that you are feeling this way. I wish I had something to say that would make you feel better. Just remember, it's early in the game. In reality, if you have problems with your port, talk to your surgeon. Tell him your regrets. If your regrets increase or worsen, set a goal for yourself to make the most of it and your diet changes while saving for a revision. Everything gets cheaper as time passes. If your body is reacting negatively to the port then tell the doctor. I'm sorry you had little support from family. To be honest, I told a lot of people I was having surgery, with the exception of several family members. Our families aren't always our best supporters. Much love and prayers for you!

    Immunity problems after surgery?

Just FYI a little known fact. 98% of women diagnosed with breast cancer are low in vitamin d3. Before WLS I was taking 5000 mg.

    I'm sick!

Get a vaporizer at Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart. They run about $16 around here. If it doesn't steam right away, add some salt. Stay away from air vents or fans. Put it next to where you sleep on the floor. Your sore throat will be better in the morning. I lived with throat infections for years and now have it mastered. Good luck and feel better!
  7. If I go to bed with a HALLS FRUIT BREEZER in my mouth, it's not so bad in the morning.

August 5th sleevers? New here :)

. I love my Dr! Dr Adam Smith with Fort Worth lap band. He did sleeve on me and takes carecredit. FYI DR. Kim's practice has a 10million dollar law suit against them. You can google. It wasn't dr Kim directly but an associate Dr. that was involved but it is pretty awful case.

    Hello I'm new!

I'm new to this site. Going to get sleeved on 6/15/2015. My story in a nut shell... I went from bikini model babe to eating my way to doubling my weight over the past 20 years. I am an expert diet pro. I have gained/lossed 80%/40% of my body weight respectively. I have done this more than I can count. My husband of 10 years met me as I was hitting a low weight 152. We've been married 10 years and I have ballooned up to 227. He has never treated me any different. I fought the deadliest form of breast cancer and so far 5.5 years out and I'm still alive. Now I really want to live!! But not at the fat, unhealthy weight I'm at now. I don't want to do anything or go anywhere and I hate the mirrors. So after considering this for 8 years now The Lord is blessing me with this opportunity. I don't know how to fill out profile. I hope to get to know some great people who can share this journey with me!????

    Need a June 15, 2015 buddy!

I'm not walking until my incisions are completely healed. Still have derma glue on them. Take it easy. I have an abdominal binder from previous surgery that I will probably use to walk with at first.

    Hiatal Hernia Route? Dr. Nicholson

Dr Adam Smith of Fort Worth Lap band. He does all types of the surgeries. I went in and booked my date same day. They will tell you when you go in what your insurance will/won't pay. They booked me for EDG and that was that. I put my out of pocket for surgery on my carecredit which he accepts and so does the hospital he uses. I haven't actually paid a dime yet and I'm 1.5 weeks post op. Got 18 months no interest. He has a YouTube video.

    Sleep machine

So as of now I am sleeping on a wedge propped up. Hoping something else comes along and the weight loss does the trick.

    Sleep machine

I was diagnosed as well. Moderate to severe. I went in was put on CPAP and still had episodes. The last two hours they switched me to BIPAP which hurt my stomach like I was swallowing air. I'm also allergic to latex, silicone, and many types of plastics so after 5 hours my skin blistered.

    What about the boobies!?

This topic interest me as well. Being a double mastectomy breast cancer survivor who opted for no implants, I have had the DIEP flap. Essentially, they took a blob of fat and skin from my tummy and made two breast mounds and attached them to my chest. So I have NO BREAST TISSUE. It's all fat! Transplanted fat! So I wonder what mine will do. I have reserved a final reconstruction/revision surgery (I've had 5) for after I loose weight. I really don't want big boobs. I'd be fine with not much at all if I were very thin. I'll keep you abreast!

What are you eating on clear post op diet?

    June 15 surgery date

Home 11 hours post op. I refused the nerve block since I am self pay. Has been a bit rough in the pain department. Now just trying to drink the isopure. Don't like the taste so mixing it with diet cranberry. Today will be my third day post op and pain level in greatly reduced. So glad I'm on the other side????

    Need a June 15, 2015 buddy!

    June 15th! I need a buddy too!
  19. Having my surgery tomorrow morning. Just wanted to know how long were you in hospital? Also did you feel pain in your actual stomach area other than incisions? I'm self employed hair stylists and really need to keep making money. I have a couple of client Thursday and a light schedule Friday and Saturday then off for 3 days.

The things no one tells you!

Gas rises. If you get you butt higher than your head, it should help expel some of the gas. I don't know if that is possible with recent surgery. Also a massage therapist can help work out the gas.

    The incisions

EpiDerm, ScarAway, and Cica are silicone gel sheets that you can cut to size and help flatten and minimize scarring. Especially good for raised or hypertrophic scars. You can buy on Amazon.

    Time in hospital? Pain?

Thanks for your replies. For some reason I thought it was usual to be released same day. Don't know where I got that. I guess I was thinking of lap band.

    Surgery tomorrow!

I'm going in tomorrow too! Prayers being sent your way. I've had 6 surgeries in 4 years (5 cancer related and 1 broken hand). I think I'm more nervous about this one than any others. Just got to have faith and take a deep breath:)
  24. So I have been told that after being sleeved, I must wait 15 minutes after drinking fluids to eat any food. Also must finish eating and wait 30 minutes before drinking anything or it will all come back up! How true is this for you?? I would love some input on how you handle this.

Madly in love but holding back info

Before I married my husband I stressed to him how important brutal honesty was for me and my distrust issues. After that he confided in me something he had done in his past that ended his previous marriage. Before he told me he said "what I'm about to tell you might make you never want to be with me again, but I know how important honesty and transparency is for you." After he told me, I fell even more in love with him because he told me an ugly sin that he was guilty of because he knew being honest was most important to me. He too has wiped my bottom, seen me go bald and boobless. Watched me gain eighty pounds. Watched my appearance turn somewhat masculine from steroids... Watched me loose my business to my poor health. Loved my two girls as if they were his own, and cry at the fear of not only losing me, but losing his two girls, his entire family if something were to happen to me. He knew the girls would go to their real dad and he might not even get to see them anymore. Don't get into marriage if you can't tell them everything because of fear of their reaction. This doesn't mean we tell each other everything but there is a peace of mind that comes with knowing you can. My opinion.
