I have read on the boards before that some people experience nose dripping while eating. This happens to me. Even worse the minute I see food my nose runs. It is almost like a Pavlov dog effect. I was wondering how many of you have this? I was also wondering if any one know the biological reason for this happening. Does it have any to do with our saliva glands? Has anyone ask their doctor about it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This has been one of my greatest challenges. I eat out ALOT and making a choice on the menu is always difficult. Thanks for all the suggestions. -
Just wondering if there are any sleevers that are in Manhattan? I checked the boards and I haven't seen any one from Manhattan New York City. Just looking for some encouragement or to offer some encouragement. When did you have your surgery? What Surgeon? Where? Hoping I can connect with some New Yorkers.

My hair loss is extreme. You can see my scalp and it looks horrible. I take biotin, hair supplement and get all my protein in. I am considering getting a wig.....it is that bad.

Wow! Nice to get to know a fellow New Yorker! I had my surgery on 3-30-15. My surgeon was Dr. Belsley and the hospital was Mount Sinai New York-Presbyterian Hospital. I started out at 240 lbs. I have lost 35 pounds already. I don't exercise much due to spine problems but I do walk. I live in the East Village. I have been a NYer all my life. I've lived in Brooklyn, Queens, and of course Manhattan.I am glad to be speaking to a veteran sleever and Wow you have done a great job, It is very encouraging. If you don't mind can I add you to my friends list? I would like to follow your progress. It will keep me on track. -
I am going on my third month of post-op and have lost 34 pounds. My problem is that I'm losing a considerable amount of weight in my legs. I have an apple shape body and so I am very round at my torso, and I have skinny legs, So I look like and apple with toothpicks for legs. I have a back problem and so do not get much exercise to put some muscle in my chicken legs. Has anyone had this problem? I would like to hear some advise on how to target my weight lose at my belly. It is very happy since most people don't get to see my legs because I'm always in slacks. Thank God. Any advise would be helpful.

The physician assistant at my surgeon's office told me that my upper back pain may be because I hunch my back and have poor posture. I am only speaking for myself but this comes from years of low self esteem and trying to hide my large belly. Maybe too much information but I am also large breasted and I try to hide that by hunching over. Never realized these things until she pointed it out. My oxygen levels are never quite right because I am hunched and not expanding my lungs enough, I recently started trying to be more conscience of my posture and believe me it is not easy. Whenever I feel the pain, I correct my posture. You don't mention it but if you hunching because you are at a desk, maybe adjusting the height of your chair may help you, its helped me. I have lost 35 pounds since March and slowly I am learning to walk tall and show off my new body, Talk to your surgeon or physician about it, they may help. Best of luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Vitamins or supplements beside biotin?
eveangel22 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months out and have started to lose a considerable amount of hair, I get my Protein in and follow my plan religiously. Problem is I was using Biotin before for menopausal hair loss and now it doesn't seem to be working. Is their any other Vitamins or supplements that I should look into. I am not the wig or hat wearing type of gal so I getting really scared. I know people recommend cutting your hair but my hairloss is so noticeable that it would only show more of my scalp. Really scared and need advise. -
Have lost weight but body looks the same
eveangel22 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months post op and have lost 28 pounds. The only problem is that when I look in the mirror I still see my big belly. I seem to only be losing weight in my arms in my inner thighs. I am getting so discouraged because people are telling me like that I don't look like I'm losing weight. It seems like I'm just losing weight everywhere else except my belly. I get some exercise but probably could be doing more. I would really like to hear some suggestions. -
It made me laugh so hard and then again a bit scary.

I had this conversation today with my boyfriend he made me look in the mirror and take a look at my body I noticed that I had lost weight. I was actually thinner than what I had imagined. I found this to be really encouragin My journey is going slow and I also have my doubts about gettin to my goal weight. I can only hope that if I follow my program it will come. Stick to your plan and come to the discussions postings. I find they help me very much and you will not feel so alone because we all have been through doubts at one point or another. Keep your chin up. -

Anyone else have a runny nose when full?
eveangel22 replied to meltingaway's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same problem. I have allergies and thought that it was that. However I started to notice it was happening when I was eating. I carry tissues with me but I found a better solution. Walmart carries a product called boogie Wipes in their baby section. they are wipes that contain saline. They seem to help and they are gentle on the skin I hope this helps it has really helped me
