Having second thoughts
MsAshley0307 replied to Mrs.A.Train's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's hard when dealing with unsupportive people. Hopefully he comes to realize his actions are more harmful than helpful and will make a change for the better. I agree with the other comments. You have to focus on you and your needs. The haters will hate and still say they love you. It's times like these you see who's really in your corner. I had a similar experience because I was with a person who felt like he had the upper hand by making me feel insecure. I am glad to say I am free from that "situation" and I am loving me and life. Hopefully you will have a better outcome, but if he or anyone else can't love you right and support your ability to be better and do better don't be afraid to tell them DUECES! ✌????️ -
Things we dont have to worry about anymore!
MsAshley0307 replied to krista132's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
As a woman, I have dealt with guys who want to be with me just because I'm a big girl and they heard it was fun. I'm like " I'm not an experiment" on the other hand people think I'm probably insecure anyway so I will tolerate anything. It's a cold world. Sometimes it is easier to be alone than to deal with the foolishness. I wish you the best with your surgery. Focusing on loving yourself first and then people will have no choice but to do the same. -
Things we dont have to worry about anymore!

That's too funny! I have the same concerns with about three of those things you mentioned. That's what's pushing me to finally face getting surgery. I don't want my kids to have the mom that's the biggest lady in the room or for them to ride alone because mommy can't fit on the rides because her legs are too darn big ???? -

I am a big fat phony failure

I was thinking that too at first, but we have to remember it does take exercise and eating less for the procedure to have any success. Some people barely have results with WLS because they didn't their part. Our food is so full of junk it's hard to not be a food addict because they have scientifically designed it so we can be addicted and keep sales up unfortunately. Let's not be ourselves up. I told myself. Yes I'm big and yes I struggle to get the weight off on my own, but thank God I have options that are safe. -
LMBO! I love that term food porn! I do that too. I just didn't know it had a name.

Still Deciding: Need Opinions!
MsAshley0307 replied to Amber Johnson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 yrs older than you. At 20 you will have so much time to enjoy your life. You want to make the decision and lifestyle change while you're young enough to spring back and have fun. I believe it's true that we are discriminated against because of size when I am often more active than thin people. But I too work in elementary and you do want to have more energy. I also have kids of my own to keep up with. I look forward to getting joy out of clothes shopping and shoe shopping. I'm ready to be young and fabulous on a different level. I was playing around with the idea too. Now I'm scheduled for December. Do it while you have the insurance coverage. Things change quickly!
