Hi My name is Erin and Im from the bay area too. I am being banded by Dr. Jossart with Laparoscopic Associates of San Francisco on this thursday 9/15. Im getting nervous about the liquid diet part. Were you hungry during this period? Tomorrow is my last day to eat before getting ready for my surgery. My sister had the gastric bypass two years ago and she said during the liquid part she wasn't even hungry. But I see posts on here of people being hungry. I guess that scares me.

thank you vinesqueen ! you are the first one to answer me and I do feel better now ! my sister had the gastric bypass two years ago , but she wasn't a drinker so she didn't know ! Im not really much of one either, but the cruise is the first big social event after surgery so I guess Im a little nervous of fitting in and not being noticed as being restricted ! (im afraid to hear the naysaysers say uhhuh look she can't even enjoy herself now , can't eat, can't drink ...ect...)

I have purposely not told most of my friends my plans for weight loss surgery. I don't like the negative vibes and Im just so happy and excited about my up coming surgery I don't want to hear any naysayers right now ! Im having my lap band placed next Thursday and I cannot wait to start living! I have only told my family so far not even my Husband's though ! I know they will watch me like a hawk cus they are overweight as well so too much pressure ! lol what if I don't do good ect...

Hello I haven't been banded yet , but I will be as of next Thursday 9/15/2005. Im nervous and would love to talk to you & other lapbanders.You just had it done?! You seem so upbeat already makes me feel better. I babysit my great neice who is 3 and have only given myself four days before I take her back ! Im scared about not being able to keep up with her?! To be honest right now Im scared about everything. Will I lose enough weight , will I survive just liquids , will I be hungry?! ect... the list goes on ! Im also going on a cruise a month after surgery!! I let my Dr. talk me into doing it before the cruise. I of course wanted to pig out everyday on the cruise and even up to the cruise! So Im kinda glad he did talk me into that. Im already eating everyday everything bad until I bust counting down until next Thursday! Hello Im new to this too ! I am still post op. My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday 9/15/05. I am excited , but nervous at the same time. I just had my consultation on Aug 30th and my surgery scheduled that same day! Its happening so fast it seems. Even though I have been looking into this procedure for a long time ! I have questions though and they may sound stupid , but Im gonna take a chance here. Does anyone drink alcohol? We are going on a cruise in October and the people we are going with we usually drink socially together. It will be ok if I cannot drink , but I know I will feel left out. Has anyone drank after they have been banded? It would only be a month post op. As I write this I just talked myself out of it ! Im too scared to drink alcohol so soon after. If any of you have heard or know can you let me know?
