Tummy bump help?!
lucky1gg33 replied to lucky1gg33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have tried a spandex style tank top... but I feel like a sausage and like it maybe makes it more pronunced. Maybe I will take a pic of same outfit with and without it? -
Tummy bump help?!
lucky1gg33 replied to lucky1gg33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know... but was thinking maybe to help encourage or tone. I figure I will ultimately have some kind of cosmetic surgery but for right now my stomach is like the bank of fatness. If it were gold, I'd be rich!! -
I didn't have one for 3 months! Started thinking the surgery thru me into menopause (age 46) but no other symptoms. My periods used to be regular on the dot and last 7 days very heavy. My first one was lighter than usual but only 4 days! Awaiting #2 now... assuming it is on schedule but no guarantees. I wouldn't be mad if they only came quarterly!!!! Hahahaa!

175.8 today. It's been a good week even with a break-up, constipation and my period will prob arrive. Depressed and bloated and still losing? In my world we call that NSV!

Body image at 75 pounds down.....
lucky1gg33 replied to alexsisv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have an opposite problem. I love looking at the new me! I take way longer to get dressed. I love comparing old pics to current me and get super excited thinking about how much thinner I will be next month and the month after that. I am nervous that I will forget my age and buy something to tight, too revealing or too young. My friends have been sworn to save me from myself! -
Inspiration for the 3 month and under folks...
lucky1gg33 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved (revision from band) on 4/27/15 and really struggled through the first 3 months feeling like it just wasn't happening for me! I am close to three and a half months post-op and wanted to share some things that plagued me the first few months. It gets better! I have finally hit a stride and feel like I will be successful after all!! Tiredness/Fatigue: Weeks 2-8, I felt like crap. No energy. Naps were required! I really worried that THIS would be my life forever! It's really not. I had put my body through a LOT and it needed to catch up! Feeling great now! Stall: Yep, total HALT weeks 3-7! I worried that I had done all of this surgery for less than 30 pounds. I was so down about this! I stayed the course and now I am back to losing daily (ounces sometimes, but daily)! I am tucking this advice away for inevitable future stalls myself! Don't give up! scales LIE: My scale obsession is still alive and kicking but I no longer panic. The scale will not always reflect your body's changes. To combat this, measure yourself or notice the way clothes are fitting looser. For me, taking a full length photo of front and side views and using a photo app to put them side-by-side gave me proof I needed. Constipation: I was constantly trying different things to make me poop. I didn't have discomfort.... I just felt like I should be pooping more. Well, I decided to let my body work it out. I now poop once every 5 days. If I feel discomfort of course I will use Ducolax or SmoothMove Tea but I am not constantly focused on daily pooping. Water and Protein Goals: These are still a struggle and some days I can only do one and not the other. I try every but I no longer panic... I focus on these two things first and do the best I can. "Cheating": I have come to terms with my imperfection. I make every attempt to make wise choices, but I don't beat myself up about a bite of my son's chocolate bar... I used buy three of them and give him one! LOL Hang in there! It is worth it... YOU are worth it. -

The surgeon staff told me 800. But I see lots of variety on here. I think calories are less important than protein and not overeating (noticing when u r full). -

Band to Sleeve and other questions!
lucky1gg33 replied to iamshazza's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok, so I had my Lapband in Dec 2009. I do not regret doing it bc it got me from highest of 260 down to 200. But I had issues like you mentioned. What I could eat one day, would get stuck the next time I tried. I got to a point where my weight was bw 200 and 215 fluctuating but not losing more and I was miserable. On 4/27/15, I was revised to sleeve. I could not be happier. The surgeon warned me that the band could be eroded, emulsified, wrapped or twisted. ..and if he had to do extra work to get it out that he may need to let me heal and come back in 3 months for sleeve. That scared me! I didn't want to gain back to 260! And I had never thought of all those complications that might happen. Good news is it went fine. 3 months and down to 178. The difference? Well, I have had no issues with food....even bread which I am not eating all the time bc protein FIRST and I can only eat a small amount of food at a time. I used to get a dull ache in my tummy area intermittently and I blamed it on nerves, something I ate, constipation, my period, etc but with the foreign objects out of me the ache is gone. Just my two cents. Best wishes on whatever you decide! -
@@dhrguru you are doing GREAT. I was band-to-sleeve revision on 4/27/15 HW 260 SW 211 CW 178 I am completely happy. But looking to be 135 on my surgiversary!!

I had a long stall from week 3 til week 6 or 7. Your body just has to catch up with what you are trying to accomplish. Keep following the protein and water rules and the stall will break. Since my stall I am losing 1-3 lbs a week which seems slow but time will go so fast!! I take a monthly pic to keep myself motivated!

I don't notice the difference in decaf but friends of mine converted slowly by cutting their regular grind with part decaf (same brand) and increasing decaf ratio every few pots until full decaf.

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
lucky1gg33 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@lauraellen80 I do mugshot pics every 30 days! It really helps keep me motivated even when the scales let me down!! -
I swirled to decaf. I also bought a protein mix that was cappuccino flavor. I make a morning shake with it and add hazelnut sugarfree syrup and some decaf instant coffee. I don't crave coffee since surgery...and I was pretty addicted t o my morning cup! Good luck with everything!

Dr put me on strange diet and I have questions
lucky1gg33 replied to ShutterGirl1829's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really appreciate everyone's advice bc it's what makes the forum so great. I think the Dr. probably chose the box meals bc it is controlled amounts and still feels like eating rich foods. I do agree that asking him more about it is good but I know pre-surgery years when I would try to "cook healthy" I would eliminate "bad" but then add something that I thought was "healthier " in my ignorance and then eat too much volume as well. Best wishes....we all are in this together! -
Can someone explain "net carbs" ....maybe I am freaked out by the labels

Over a year out: How much can you eat?
lucky1gg33 replied to MichiganChic's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I am "lucky" I suppose bc I can tolerate anything. I have restriction but it's not too severe. The downside is that I am losing slower than my roommate (same surgery date)...she eats next to nothing, water makes her sick and she lives off of pedialyte. I am happy with my slow loss (although maybe jealous of her appearance). I was a revision so I am probably destined to lose slower and from what I have read, may not lose as much. -
I know it has been talked about but I'm feeling like a failure....

It is so hard to stay on track with protein and water goals when on vacations.... I planned and did my best but I too am ready for getting back to routine! -
I got my water (unsweetened decaf tea) up today and peeing like crazy. I keep praying it's washing out fat cells!!!
-
180...up a pound. Back to back vacations left me short on protein and water goals. Hoping to get back to routine this week!!!!

Whoa? I had to check the YEAR...you have had amazing results! Great job!
