What's your exercise routine
scarletwitch19 replied to CherieN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I take classes at the gym 4x a week, an hour each. I usually end up doing cardio for 20 minutes before the classes. I do zumba or go for a walk/jog a couple other days a week as well. I'm trying to get into running, but haven't really gotten into it yet. I'm hoping as I continue to lose weight and it gets easier I will like it more. Right now running hurts me knees alot -
Rant of the day
scarletwitch19 replied to byebyefat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This must be a thing... because same happened to me. Luckily I called my insurance company and they were able to push it forward faster but they only received my info 2 days before my scheduled surgery. -
I love my fitness pal! I'd love fitness pal friends Alyssakbrown19

Newbie here, glad I found you guys!
scarletwitch19 replied to Cervidae's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
my boyfriend is super supportive too. I've found a ton of support on here. It's really helpful talking to people who know what I'm going through. And no matter how supportive my bf or others are, they can't understand it all. I'm happy to talk about it all and answer any questions. I'm always happy to chat haha. Send me a private message. We can keep in touch, facebook, text, whatever! -

Hi! I had rny surgery on June 8th. I'm always looking to meet people my age who are going through surgery. I don't really have alot of people my age that I know. Not in college anymore, graduated 2 yrs ago. Boring working girl now my family is pretty supportive, they know it's a good decision for my health, but unfortunately I think some of them judge it a bit. As for my friends, it's been really mixed. I have some coworkers who are super super supportive. But my best friend hasn't been. She seemed really supportive in the beginning but now it doesn't seem so. She hasn't said anything negative, more just she's distanced herself a bit. I really thought others who have struggled with their weight would understand, but I've found some who don't. ... I'm so excited for you! Less than a week away. -
hi! I'm in Brockport, not too far from Greece and Rochester. Gastric bypass June 8th this year. Started at 352 and I'm now down to 292.

So tired of people saying you dont need surgery!
scarletwitch19 replied to Shellbell619's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate when people say that. I started at 350, how can you possibly say I didn't need it!? It's basically the 'nice' way to say you're unsupportive. My new favorite, I've seen a few people who asked how much I've lost, and I told them and they're all 'wow I didn't realize you needed to lose that much'. Come on. Super awkward. Grrr.. people this week. Lol -
that is so true! I've been to classes before where if you don't know what you're doing, or you can't keep up, it can be uncomfortable. Zumba is NOT like that. It's fun and easy going. And every class I've gone to has some people doing basic step work and some who are really into it. I've always felt really comfortable even when it gets a little too tough for me .

pre op support needed.
scarletwitch19 replied to Peanutbutterlady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally understand that feeling. My boyfriend is the most amazing man I know and so supportive. But he can't understand everything. He doesn't really know how I feel. I can talk to him about it, but I come to this site regularly now, and it really has helped me. I just don't feel alone through this, and that's what I really needed -
Help---- how do I even start quitting things ....
scarletwitch19 replied to urukugal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that actually makes sense. I saw thus article the other day that talked about what changes when you quit drinking soda, and sweet tooth cravings subside was one of the things it said. Also it said you taste things better. I never noticed that after stopping soda though lol -
At the very beginning (Or hello from a newbie.)
scarletwitch19 replied to Beck90's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
you actually might find foods that are currently appealing to you, aren't after surgery. Post surgery I have very little interest in junk foods. I was a big pizza fan, but I have no interest anymore. I know that bread hurts my stomach, so I don't even think about it. And I really don't crave any sugary foods. I might have something sweet (sugar free popsicle, sugar free pudding, 100 calorie frozen yogurt) once a week. And I don't feel like im missing out on anything else. My biggest suggestion right now, is as you're starting the process, start doing research, checking out this site and others, to look into foods. You said you're a finicky eater. Nows the time to start figuring out what you do like that will be good after surgery, because the first year post surgery is critical. It's good to have a plan. Congrats on the decision! We're all here to support you -
Zumba is a great workout. Good thing to remember too is, if the moves they are doing get too intense, make it easier. Don't do the arm movements, or walk in place for a couple minutes. It will get easier everytime you go

My younger sisters are interested in the surgery, they're 18. And my only reason I'm against them getting it YET is I don't think they are anywhere near mentally ready for wls. You need a certain mindset for this. You need to be ready to eat healthy, exercise and change your mentality towards food. I think showing a true attempt to lose weight through diet and exercise is important, simply because if shows you know what it's going to take and that wls isn't the easy fix. Unfortunately my sisters seem to still think it's magic. If your daughter puts a real effort into being healthy and understands the consequences of it being a lifetime change, then why wait.

I did alot of scrambled eggs. And refried beans.

Look how thin my face is getting!!! I've never been so excited about anything before! Still have over 100 lbs to go but I'm loving every second of this journey ♡
-
Way to go! Having a thinner face is awesome. No more having to hold the camera at slimming angles during selfies!
-
your looking really good for being less than 2 month pre-op did you also have a supervised couple of months pre-op diet
-
I met with a nutritionist 3x pre-op to go over my diet. Over the 4 months pre-op I lost 14lbs from that

Do you wear a medical alert bracelet
scarletwitch19 replied to scarletwitch19's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yeah, idk. I was thinking the same thing. When I Googled and found a handful of sites about it, I assumed that it must be somewhat common... but I've never heard of this before. -
When did you start feeling better?
scarletwitch19 replied to checkmeowt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hang in there! It'll get better soon. Just try to get the water down, that will make you feel better and speed up the process -

I know better, but I...
scarletwitch19 replied to meyouus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How often are you eating a day?I know everyone's doctor says different. Mine said 3 meals and 2 'snacks' a day. So I never go all day without eating. I eat every 3-4 hrs. I don't know if not eating all day necessarily would cause getting sick in the evening, but as a whole, only eating 600-800 calories a day and not eating all day could get pretty unhealthy. Glad to hear things are going better and congrats on getting in the 2's. I got there last week -

scarletwitch19 replied to Jasmine Smith's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow! Good for you!!!! You clearly got your head in the game. Losing all that weight pre-surgery is no small task. It's great to see how positive you've remained despite the bumps in the road you've encountered. Welcome to the family! -
Start dieting before surgery?
scarletwitch19 replied to Missbliss14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't get discouraged. They can be hard on you, but try to remember they want you to succeed. Whenever I get frustrated at things at my hospital or bariatric center I always try to remember, these people have dedicated their life to help us. They know it's hard, but I can totally admit sometimes I need a kick in the butt to get the ball rolling. Just try making little changes, don't try everything at once. Maybe start working on getting all your Water in, and exercising 3x a week. No one's perfect, I didn't eat 100% healthy on my pre-op diet. But if you can start making small changes to your diet it will make it much easier after surgery. Good luck! You can do this. I know it doesn't seem it now but it gets easier.
