Pasta at soft foods?
scarletwitch19 replied to avRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2.5 months out and can't do Pasta. I don't have a big interest in it, but have tried a bite or two when my boyfriend eats it, more outta curiosity than anything. It doesn't sit well with me at all. What about trying to do a veggie in place of the pasta? Mashed cauliflower is really good. So is zucchini. -
Exercising after bypass surgery
scarletwitch19 replied to patricia achkar's topic in Fitness & Exercise
My surgeon didn't put a time restriction on working out. He said once I feel good I can start, and just take it easy. If something doesn't feel right, don't do it. I started doing more intense exercise around week 5. -
Mmmm... now all I want is pancakes. Thanks

I'm 25. Had surgery June 8 2015 -
some days, I honestly don't know how I would make it through without my zumba class. I never would have said that a few months back. But I'm finding on stressful days that I'm counting the hours til class, knowing how much it will help me relax. <3

What are you all doing for workouts?
scarletwitch19 replied to armywife79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I do zumba 3x a week and a body works (free weights, strength training) class 1-2x a week. I'm really trying to get into running but so far it hasn't gone great, my knees still hurt alot. I'm hoping when I lose more weight I'll start enjoying it more -
Hi everyone newcomer to the app!
scarletwitch19 replied to hodgeRR2288's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Drink lots of Water, take your water bottle everywhere Start cutting out soda and cutting down on caffeine Try working an exercise routine into your schedule (walking 3x a week is a great starting point) Make sure you're eating 3 meals a day, no skipping Breakfast or lunch. It's much easier to update/change existing habits than create new ones. If you follow your nutritionists recommendations and begin you changes before surgery it will make your transition much easier. -

scarletwitch19 replied to hodgeRR2288's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Welcome! I just had gastric bypass this June. Best thing I've ever done. Congrats on the decision! It's a big deal deciding to have surgery, but so worth it. Any questions please let me know! This is a great site, and a very supportive group -
I am having a hard time finding ANYONE that's had surgery my age ????????
scarletwitch19 replied to Alyssa0102's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
maybe try changing up your exercise plan or eating a little more? Sometimes your body just needs a little change up to get moving again. -

To tell my coworker/friend or not...
scarletwitch19 replied to losing_the_band's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Did she know about your band? Was she supportive? I previously would have told you if it's a good friend let her know. But I had a bad experience last week. I had a friend at work (who is overweight and struggling with dieting) ask what my diet and exercise plan is like. I decided to tell her about surgery. She lectured me on what a bad idea it was, how dangerous it is and how I should have really thought it through. It was awful. I can totally admit, I was a little judgemental on people who would just tell people they were eating high protein/low carb and exercising. I felt like it was being a little sneaky not giving all the info. I was WRONG. So wrong. I won't be sharing with anyone else. Because I was so upset last week. I just think it's important to protect yourself. Unless you are prepared for her to criticize and prepared for others at work to find out, I would be careful telling anyone. -
2 week post op weight loss stalled?
scarletwitch19 replied to Oklahomagirl1970's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is totally normal, don't fret. Your body is going nuts right now from the low amount of calories you've been taking in. It needs a week or two to get on track. Everyone goes through this, don't worry! Good luck, and congratulations on joining the wls family -
oh gosh! Thank goodness you're ok. I had surgery June 8th. I'm down 60lbs from high weight, 45 down since surgery! I feel awesome. I truly can't remember feeling this good before. In loving taking classes at the gym. Zumba is so much fun. I'm finding going to class is the best part of my day. Exercising has taken the place of food when I'm upset/stressed etc. I found a class to go to last night, just cuz I was grumpy and wanted to get outta the house. It's awesome.

Obesity! Will that word follow me to the grave :(
scarletwitch19 replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Rants & Raves
I am so sorry to hear this happened to you! I agree, it is a horrible word that always makes me sad to hear. He never should have wrote that, and she never should have shown you. Hang in there, it's going to get better. You are not obese, you have worked so so hard to get where you are today. Don't let some ignorant doctor make you forget that! Keep your chin up -

Do I need a Pizza Funeral
scarletwitch19 replied to ShareeB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that chicken idea sounds good, I'll have to try it. I've done the cauliflower crust once before but it uses alot of cheese so I haven't done it since surgery. I haven't found a recipe with less cheese, but I'm still looking. I guess an idea could be not to put cheese on top since it's in the crust. -
Do I need a Pizza Funeral
scarletwitch19 replied to ShareeB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found flatbread to make pizza. I think the brand was flatout. They turned out really good. I think they were around 15g carbs, so if I were to make them I would make sure to plan the rest of my day and watch my carbs. -

scarletwitch19 replied to MIMISAN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about shakes for breakfast? I don't like eating actual food that early but I can do a shake. You can buy premade ones so there is no prep in the morning. What about yogurt? You can add different fruits to it everyday to mix it up. Hardboiled eggs are easy, so is tuna. I've recently gotten in the habit of planning all my lunches and Snacks on Sunday or Monday for the entire work week. That way it's only one day of cooking. I make containers with yogurt and fruit for my morning snack, something for lunch (usually chicken and a veggie, or tuna), and bring a cheese stick for my afternoon snack. It does require some time to prep, but then you're only doing it one day. If you don't want to eat the same thing for lunch everyday you could freeze leftovers in serving size containers and then you can pick different ones each day. Keep at it! You're doing great so far. -

First hard day (Mentally)
scarletwitch19 replied to Jasmine Smith's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It sounds like you're really doing everything you can to be positive and stay on track. That's huge! Keep pushing through. I had cravings a couple weeks after surgery too. I tried a couple bites of things and ended up finding I wasn't as interested in them as I thought. It takes time, but maybe you can find some new foods that replace your old go to snacks. There are tons of recipes online. You've got this, keep pushing through
