I still indulge in a diet 7up when my tummy gets upset. The FIZZIES has always been the only thing to cure it. I drink a very small glass and very slowly! I would not drink it eveyday.

How Do You Take Medications?
Terrilen replied to mslynn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I take 8 pills in the a.m. and 11 pills at night! To say I struggle to get them down and keep them down is an understatement! I take a few at a time with lots of room temp water. I used to crush them but my teeth and gums were taking a beating. Now I just go really slow and hope they stay down! -
Heather, Here is thier website, it might help you. Good Luck! www.floridaobesitysurgical.com

Any Bipolar People Out There
Terrilen replied to Yvonne's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I too am a fellow "Nutter". I am Bipolar Type 2 and have been fighting it since my late teens I am now 47. I am currently on Lthium, Seroquel, Buspar, Topomax, Inderal and Requipp. I see someone about my meds monthly as they can become toxic easily. It's a sad disease/condition because of how misunderstood it is. God Bless all those who are brave enough to resond to this thread, may life treat you a little kinder. -
A thread for Single Bandsters
Terrilen replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am just starting to date again after being out of the scene for almost 9 years now! I have been chatting with a very nice guy I met on E Harmony. Neither of us has seen pictures like I said we have just been talking for a few weeks now. I beleive in being upfront about my weight because I have found that 90 percent of these guys will bolt as soon as they know about it. It is the other 10 percent I am interested in. Funny I got kind of scared with this guy and told him I only weighed 160 at first....then the guilt hit me and I came clean and revealed it was more like 220! I even told him about my band! He did not bat an eye....how cool is that? Has my self esteem gotten so low that I did not think someone could just be attracted to me for my personality? I guess I am so used to men running away from my weight that when someone is not afraid of it I almost don't know how to act! We have not set a date to meet yet, but I sure feel better about it now. -

Newbie ? For Those That Were Binge Eaters
Terrilen replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can still binge with the band just not with the exact same foods as before. Where there is a will there is a way! It truly has so much more to do with the mind than with the stomache. The only way I will ever stop my compulsive over eating is with continued therapy and the help of my band. It's all about my choices in the future. -
Hi everyone! I live in Apopka which is part of Orlando and I love it here. I had my band done by Dr Lee J Grossbard in Dade City near Tampa and I cannot rave enough about him or his staff! He is one of the pioneer surgeons of the Lap Band and has one himself. As for Dr Beltre here in Altamonte Springs...all I can tell you is I had one of the worst experiences EVER in a Dr's office..I still cannot believe how rude his staff was to a prospective new patient! To be fair, I never saw the Dr..I was too upset after dealing with his staff! Just for you info. Good luck to all the Florida Bandsters..nice to hear from everyone! Take care.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
Terrilen replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was at 2.3cc and that was way too tight! So now I am at 1.8cc and we shall see if that is too loose or just right. It is such a fine line! -
Does anyone find it easier to eat standing up
Terrilen replied to hootiebelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, standing seems to just sure make everything goes in the right direction..ha! I do not slime or PB half as much standing! -
I have not had a fill since January and that had been my only one. After going back to my Dr and re comitting to a healthy band lifestyle I got my second fill. I told my Dr that I never really felt any restriction with my first fill so I guess he really made sure I would feel it this time! It is my 2nd day on clear liquids and I can just barley sip to get them to stay down! I am sooo thirsty but I cannot drink water like I need to. I have even been PBing in my sleep waking up with fluid coming out of my mouth and nose...yes nose! What I am worried about is am I going to get tighter in the next week or so? Or will this all calm down? Am I bad for wanting to stay super tight so I CANNOT eat? Thanks for any responses.

Well I saw my Dr today and he took me from a fill of 2.3cc to 1.8. I had lost 16 pounds in 6 days so you can say I had been sick! I was worried at first about him taking too much out but having been sooo sick I said go ahead, I can always get another fill. I learned too tight aint right! Ha!
-
I have been TOTATLY miserable being this tight! I am at the point I can hardly hold down sips of room temp water! I have an appt with my Dr first thing tomarrow! I just wish I had done it sooner...I just kept thinking it would loosen up a tad. Man have I been sick!!!! Word to the wise it is better to be to loose than too tight!
-
I just had my first fill since Jan 06 and am also back on the lap band wagon! That is the beauty of the band its always there waiting for us to use it! Good Luck!

does anyone else spit in a cup?????????
Terrilen replied to lorihou's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lisa I wake up in the middle of the night choking and it scares me too! I have just gotten a new fill after a year but I can tell you I will not be without a spit cup at my side in the future. -
does anyone else spit in a cup?????????
Terrilen replied to lorihou's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes to the Cup! I just got a fresh fill after a year and boy am I tight! Using the cup alot and glad to have it otherwise I would never leave the bathroom! -
I started this thread so that we could share our secret pain and frustration. I am so glad to have heard from a few of you. What I did not say in my first post is I have not been successful with the lap band due to my eating disorder. I have learned the band is only a tool, only as good as the choices you make. You can still binge eat with the band! That is what surprised me after my banding, is that where there is a will there's a way! I am amazed how much I can still stuff into this empty void! One year after my procedure I am heavier than before I had it.....all because of my binge eating. I am in heavy duty therapy now because I do not want to live another day as a compulsive binge eater! I am on the road for the first time to really helping my lap band have a chance to work. Those of you that share my secret compulsion...please know that the band is not some miracle device that is going to do the work for you.You can and still will binge eat! Even with fills..you find a way! So you have really got to be honest with yourself on weither or not your binge eating is under control before get the band! Otherwise in a year you will be like me...trying really hard to start over.

I will not go into the details, but I will tell you I had one of the worst experiences of my life with an office staff at Dr Beltre's in Altamonte Springs! I was there for my first visit and was treated soooooooo badly I never got past giving them my I.D. cards..I walked out! It was that bad and it takes alot to upset me! What a horrible staff! I have to drive a long way but I will stick with Dr Grossbard and his wonderful group.

If it is any comfort to you I have UHC (standard conversion policy) meaning I pay for it. Let me tell you they have covered EVERYTHING to do with my Lap Band! They even cover my fills! So think positive and good luck!

Go into the GOOGLE search engine and type the word FAILURE. You will be amazed at what you get! LOL!

I have been banded a year this month and to say I have broken every rule in the book is an understatement! I am not proud of this past year but I am ready to put all the bad behinde me and start living a clean healthy lap band life style. I will be working with a therapist once a week to really address my eating disorder..so I am truly ready for once to go to work with my band. My question is...I can eat anything hardly anything bothers me and I can eat alot! Way more than a cup. But whenever I eat I get sick afterwards..it's like it backs up in my throat and I have to go get rid of it~sounds gross I know! But since I can eat TOO much I do not want an unfill...but I cannot keep getting sick. Any words of wisdom?:help:
-
I hope this still works because it's GREAT! Google the word....failure....... and see what you get!:heh: Bush is the worst EVER!!!!!!

:help: I have had my band one year this month. I have done everything WRONG you could possibly do during this time! Needless to say I have not lost much weight but my eating disorder has thrived. I stopped seeing my Dr for several reasons..I did not care for him and he was 3 hours away. I probably did not care for him because he was not going to buy into my B.S.! Anyway I have been having problems with my band...PBing and getting sick right after meals and it's been getting bad so I found a new Dr. Let me preface this by saying I have been doing alot of work with my therapist the past 6 months and I really feel I am ready to commit to the band now! I now know it's only a tool and only as good as my choices. What questions or subjects should I bring up with my new Dr? My appt is Tues at 10 am. Any advice will be helpful! I really want this to work this time!

Thank you for all the great advice and supportive words..I will use it today!
