Trouble with ordering Syntrax Nectar on Amazon?
MissAKY replied to lauraellen80's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
YES! I have had the same issue. So frustrating. I'm not willing to pay more than $35/40 for Protein powder and their prices were just right, until I tried to check out. I even tried having it shipped to my mom's house (about 100 mi from me). That didn't work either. -
I'm a week pre-op and look forward to joining you guys on the loser's bench - save me a seat! My support group (family and friends) keep asking me if I am nervous. Honestly, I'm just anxious to get the surgical portion over with, so I can get on with my life. I'm ready for this and all your threads and responses has made me so confident in my life choice. THANK YOU!

Any Doctor of Yours Hate Your Choice?

Most of the time, I feel like a lone ranger in advocating for my healthcare. I am mid-20s (morbidly, when I started May 29. 2015) obese. I have stage IV endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. I have struggled my entire life with my weight. I booked an appointment with my surgeon, we discussed my options - I came fully prepared and did all my research - he required me to lose 12 pounds and see the nutritionist and do a psych eval. It was pretty simple. I self sabotaged for a month, just dragging my feet and enjoying the last of my favorite foods. However, the minute I got serious, there was no distracting me. I look at finding the right fit for a doctor, the same way as having people in my life. If you're not on board, get the heck off my bus. I was surround myself with people who will support my healthy decisions. If a doctor won't do that, don't think for a second you're not irreplaceable. -
Any Doctor of Yours Hate Your Choice?

I had a PCP and a Gyno attempt to discourage me. The PCP said I wasn't overweight enough - 130 pounds - and I was young, so "if I worked hard enough" I could get the weight off. The Gyno attempted to discourage me when I switched from the pill (was on it for over 10 years) to depo (shot). She said all I would do would gain weight - about 20-25 pounds. Well, I had my first depo on 8/17 and I'm down 21 pounds. Bite me! -

OMG - that's awesome! I work in San Mateo (for now)! How did you feel 2 weeks post op? I am supposed to fly 2 weeks, 1 day after surgery. I am flying to DC with a layover in Chicago. So it won't be too long of a flight. This all liquid diet is starting to wear on me. I'm pretty excited about and ready for the surgery party to be over. -
I think it's important we decipher between the Vitamins and stages. Pre-Op vitamins were all from costco. - Gummy Multi Vitamin - D3 - B12 (dissolvable and pleasant taste) - Iron - Fish Oil - CLA I already purchased my liquid vitamins for post surgery as seen in my post above. My doctor said I need to be on liquid or easily dissolvable vitamins for 6 months post-op.

I've got my Date Oct. 19, Anyone close to that?
MissAKY replied to Trisha213's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor highly recommends Premiere Protein which can be purchased at costco - 18 shakes for $24.99 + tax. I know Sam's Club also sells them. You doctor wants you on low-carb and low fat, high protein. The rule of thumb is always - under 220 grams of protein - single digit carb (9g and under) - double digit protein (10g or more) Your shakes should have 25-40g of protein. I have two that I really like - check them out on my blog (you can also buy them at Costco). http://FromAtoSleeve.blogspot.com I have some premium shakes on hand too. I wonder if I can just use those instead of the weight and inches.I would think you can. The most important part of pre-op diet, is losing weight and shrinking fat around your liver. It makes your surgery easier for your for your surgeon and less risky for you.I've lost about 40lbs during my year program! Going to try for a few more before surgery!!! Awesome, my goal is to be under 240 before surgery. That's a few pounds in 8 days. I feel like the little engine who could. -

Hey Everyone! I'm in Mountain View. Getting sleeved on Monday, Oct. 12. Anyone else approaching your date? -
It's a self sabotage move. We've all done it. On day two of my liquid diet I was CRAVING real Protein. I ended up eating a can of tuna with dijon mustard. At least it was healthy. After that, I have been strict to the plan. Proud of you and wishing you best of luck.

You're so lucky. I am on all liquids, then Clear Liquids two days before hand (which is nice since it falls on a Saturday and Sunday). Three shakes and meal is completely doable! Best of luck! Make sure to check out my blog and share. http://FromAtoSleeve.blogspot.com -

Dub! You're going to do great! I have lost 5 pounds in two days on this all liquid diet. Once you stick to it and really put your head in it, you'll conquer all things. I started my journey May 29th - 271.1lbs. I am a week pre-op and down to 243.3. I am having the sleeve also. My out of pocket is around $350 for everything - eternally grateful for my wonderful insurance, despite the shitty company I work for (least they could do). You're going to do great! My surgery date in Oct 12 - 8 days away in Mountain View, CA at El Camino Hospital. I'm actually very content and excited to get this portion of the journey over. I have been on a liquid diet for a week so far, I have found Premiere Protein shakes, you can get them at costco - $24.99 for 18. I find that I am not sleeping as well right now. Partially nerves/anxiousness and hunger. My surgery date in Oct 12 - 8 days away in Mountain View, CA at El Camino Hospital. You should be approved and have surgery by Thanksgiving. I'm having surgery in 2 weeks. This all liquid diet is KILLING me. I'm only on day 2 and I could kill someone.

I had the same experience. I was approved in less than a week. Honestly, the biggest hold up was with my dr's office. I completed all my pre-reqs for surgery on 9/4/15. I was approved on 9/18/15 (was submitted to my ins on 9/14/15. Scheduled my surgery for 10/12/15. My out of pocket experience is $437.
