weight loss stopped at 7 months

I am at 9 months out and had my gallbladder removed in December and I have only lost 4 lbs. it is frustrating and also I have upped my workout. I have not lost anything in about 6 weeks, I know I am giving my workouts everything as my muscles are sore the next day after working out. I feel you and your frustration!!!!
  3. I ran on the treadmill for the first time ever. It was short bursts throughout my workout, but I did it. I would not have even thought about running 12 months ago!! I did it!!! I am excited that I could do it and that I actually wanted to do it!!! I was sleeved in June 2015 and I am down 91 pounds. I feel great and can do so much more than I ever thought I would be able to do!!! I am loving my "new life"!!!!!

    Resolution of IBS

I have IBS, and since surgery(6/15/15) have only had a few days of bad tummy days. Had my gallbladder removed(12/28/15) and have not had one single day of bad tummy days since. I do not eat any pasta, rice, only toasted bread(maybe once a month). My dr said that the sleeve might help this issue and it has. I am glad and feel as though it is a bonus of all my hard work.

    Allergy?

I am allergic to the glue and strips they use, I have to put on cream every night and by the 5 day I always put a warm wash cloth on the strips and take them off so I don't break out so bad. I am also allergic to latex which is found in tape and other items so I have to get rid of all the dressing they put on ASAP. I hope that benedryl works for you. After surgery I have to take it for about a week or two to help with my reaction to everything. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!!
  6. I had the sleeve done and put a pillow under my right side and slept on the right side from night one at the hospital. My dr never told me a position to sleep in, just told me to listen to my body. I also used an ice pack for the first two weeks or so on the large incision. I have had no issues with doing this and am now 9 months out. I even did this after my gallbladder surgery in December.
  7. Mine has stayed about the same. I buy better quality meats, protein shakes, protein bars, beef jerky, so it is about the same amount just better for you.

Foods for camping in cold weather?

You will need to dress in an extra layer as after some have had surgery and lose some of the fat insulation they get cold. As far as camping I went camping at about one month out from surgery and did fine!

    Problems after filling

Ok so I have talked with several dentist on the phone and a couple of dental hygienist and they said that this is very rare and what happened was when they gave me the injection it actually got into the blood stream and that is what caused all these issues. It is about 1:100000 people this happens to and there was nothing to do but ride it out and watch my heart rate. My resting heart rate is still alittle above normal, but they said it might take up to 10 days for it to return to normal. It had nothing to do with my sleeve and I am feeling much better and getting over this slowly. I am drinking as much as I can to get this out of my system and will be going back to the gym for the first time since Monday as my heart rate is finally down to the lower 70's and I feel that it is safe again. Thanks for all your comments and help. (Sleeved June 15,15)
  11. Has anyone experienced problems after having a filling? Yesterday I had a filling done and every since I have felt light headed, shakes, diarrhea, tongue is swollen a bit, and my heart rate resting is in the 90's and normally would be 62. Just wanted to check to see if anyone else has had this happen since having the sleeve done. I went back to dentist today and had her check me out and write down the names of the numbing meds, I have also talked to my dr who did the sleeve. They both just told me nothing was wrong with what they did, but some people react different to medications after having the sleeve.

Back Ache and 5 weeks out

Sometimes when you lose a lot of weight your back needs to be adjusted. Mine hurt after I dropped about 30 pounds, went and got adjusted and I felt a ton better. I asked my surgeon and he was fine with it:) just an idea!!!

    My journey:)

These are pictures from my weight loss journey that I have been on this last 8 months with some before pictures scattered in here and there(and of course, my Grandson and inspiration). I have lost 90 pounds and now only have another 12 pounds to go. I am wanting to start toning now and hopefully in a few months just start maintaining my weight. This has been a long road with some bumps in it, but I wouldn't change anything. I feel so much better, have so much more energy, and I love going to the gym!! I am thankful for all the support of my family and friends as I have been on this road. https://flipagram.com/f/kGVsefpRaq

    My journey:)

When he was born my daughter was so young and he came home from the hospital only weighting 4 pounds due to being delivered 10 weeks early. I got to spend lots of time with him since I run a home daycare!!! Love every minute of it!!!❤️????❤️
  15. I was on an antibiotic up until two days before surgery for a sinus infection. When my blood work came back it showed a high level of white blood cells and my surgery was NOT postponed. Good Luck!!

    What upsets your sleeve now?

Steak sits very heavy on my tummy. I can eat almost anything but steak!!
  17. I helped mine come off at a week. I am allergic to the glue and was rubbing them and they all came off. As long as it has been at least a week, I would just wash the area with warm water and a mild soap. That should help them loosen.
  18. I came home from hospital after three days because they found out I was allergic to Morphine in the hospital and it made me sick for the first two days. I took only one pill after I came home and that was to sleep in afternoon after one of my daycare kiddos hit me in my belly on accident.

I want the TRUTH about vitamins!

I take two multi vitamins, potassium, stool softener, allergy tab, and 2 B-12 every night before bed. I have never had a problem with my levels and have had my blood checked twice since surgery in June 2015. I take them all at the same time and then I go to sleep, so I have never had a problem with them making me sick.
  20. OMGoodness!!!!!OMGoodness!!!! I just did a happy dance around the whole entire house!!!! I just tried on a pair of capris I bought for this summer. I was thinking by then I "might" be able to fit them. Guess what they fit!!!!! I had to pull my very large oversized shirt out of the way but I snapped a picture of me wearing them. By the way, I have not worn this size since middle school, maybe 6 and 7th grade?!?!? I am just so excited that I had to shout it out to the world!!! I am finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel as I only have 12 more pounds to lose!!!

    Had my best NSV today!

Thanks everyone!!! I washed the jeans today and I am really going to wear them tomorrow, I don't care if it is cold or not, I will just uncuff them:)
  22. I run a home daycare and I was back on the floor and playing with the kiddos the following Monday. I also had a three day stay at the hospital because after surgery found out I was allergic to morphine, and got so sick.

    Had my best NSV today!

Thanks everyone. This has been one long journey. Started out very rough with a three day stay in the hospital-finding out I am allergic to morphine. Then, in December a second surgery to get my gall bladder out because of a manderian orange sized stone that formed. But I would not change a thing!!! We went to mall the other day and after 3 hours of walking around, my two teenaged daughters were ready to leave but I was just getting started. I love that I can out last them and now run around and play with my 20 month old grandson and not be winded. Love the journey but really love the results!!!! God bless you all with your journey!!!!
