Thanks for all the comments!!! I am still a little floored because it has been a long time since I was in the hundreds. Now to reach my next goal at 175. -
Today I had my three month check up, I started this journey at 260, today I am at 200. I am so excited and feeling awesome but can't wait for onederland to happen. Dr said I was doing great and I go back in December and I have to get my blood draw 2 weeks before appt. but I gave blood yesterday and my iron level was 14.5 they said that was great. So I am not worried about the rest of the blood count. I will be posting that next post soon!!!! Can't wait to be in the 100's!!! Celebrating can't come soon enough!!

grandmaofone replied to lauragp74's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I slept on my right side right after surgery. I asked for a ice pack put it on large incision and I didn't have ANY problems at all. I sleep on my right since day of surgery with no issues. You will be all good. Just use a Blanket or pillow to make it more comfortable:). Good Luck!! -
I have a $1000 deductible, but had meet that before surgery because I have 3 kids that are very accident prone. I got a estimated cost from dr and my part was $280, and hospital was $1700 for co-pays. Got my bill in the mail and I owed dr $35, chest X-ray $7, blood work $5, so I have been making payments but hospital sent me paperwork for finical assistance and I only had to pay $300

Am I the only one with never ending constipation?
grandmaofone replied to BestDayEver's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I use a stool softener everyday, every three days I take 2. This has seemed to help as I have been doing this for about one month now and have not had an issue since starting. Before I started a used some suppositories. After I was cleared out, I started on the stool softeners. I would rather take those than a laxative everyday. There are less side effects with stool softeners than with a laxative. -
I am four-five pounds away and I am going to bust my butt on the treadmill until I hit that magical number of 199!!! I can't wait to join you!!! Great job!!! You must feel awesome!!!

I just cleaned out all my drawers and my closet. I now have 6 shirts, 6 pair of capris that fit. Also I bought some more capris (3pair) a size smaller. I will not buy anything else till these are just way to big. I work from home so it is easy for me to do laundry and wear the same clothes. I love being able to buy clothes anywhere!!

Refried beans?
grandmaofone replied to kaysunshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fat-free is what you want to pick up. I mixed in a little fat free sour cream and cheese. It was so good to eat some!!! -
This is to shrink your liver so they don't cause it any damage while doing the surgery. Hang in there just think you are almost 1/3 of the way there and it will be so worth it after you have the surgery. It will soon be over and you will look back and see it was all worth the journey!!

I am so excited!! I am going to definitely be pushing myself this week. I am so exited because this is normally the time in my "normal diets" I start gaining my wight back. But I am excited that I will be still losing the weight and will hit MY goal of 165. Here is a picture of me at my daughters graduation in May at 260, and a picture of me today at 203lbs.

You know you lost weight when

*When you try on pants you bought you thought you would fit into in a month or so and they are already to big!!! *When you can move the drivers seat up another foot and can reach the pedals without have to stretch. * when you walk past a mirror and wonder who is in the room with you * when your grandson (one year old)takes a while to recognize you every other weekend:) #lovingmysleeve #newlife -

When you have pulled the strings on your shorts so tight they still fall off:) -
I was in the gym in 2 1/2 weeks walking on treadmill. First day walked a mile in 45 mins, skipped a day walked a mile in about 35 mins, skipped a day then went about 1 1/2 in about 45 mins. Fast forward 4 weeks......now I go 2 miles in 30 mins, 4 miles on bike in about 20 mins and lift weights for about 20 mins. It gets easier everyday and you just have to make the point to start and then go!!! You need to be in the gym every other day. I went walking on days I didn't go to gym so I would not be sore, just like a 15 min walk. It is well worth the extra effort. When I first started at the gym every time I went I would drop about 1/2 a pound. I got really excited and that kept me motivated. Good luck!!!

I love that I am where I have never been before....
grandmaofone posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I started this journey in January(260), and was sleeved on June 15(240), I am currently down to 206. I have really had no major problems except for right after surgery I was sick for two days. After that I could drink again and was a lot better. I have gotten sick a few times from eating thing to quickly, but really I have had an easy go at this. I am feeling great and have so much energy!! I visit the gym and fast walk about 2 miles on treadmill in about 30 mins., use the bike for about 4 miles in about 25 mins, and just got released to do strength training at my last check up, so I do about 20 mins of weights. Loving that I went through my closets and drawers and had to get rid of everything. I hate shopping so right now I have a wardrobe that consist of about 6 shirts and 5 capris. I work from home as a daycare provider and no one cares about me wearing the same cloths everyday:) glad for that because I don't want to have to shop until I am down to about 175lbs. I would love to make it to that goal by the time it gets cold and pants weather. I have a picture taken from my daughters graduation day and then one I took today to show what I look like. Hope everyone else is doing good and loving the sleeve! -

I did not measure. I weighted again today and I am down to 204. I love being able to go to gym and really see a difference in how my clothes are fitting and see it on the scales. I know you will do awesome if you work the program!! Good Luck!! -

You hit the 3 week stall everyone talks about. I hit mine at about 4 weeks and it lasted 1 1/2 weeks then I lost about 5 lbs the next week. Happens to everyone:) I am 9 weeks out and I have started losing about 2-3 lbs average. Keep it up and you will get through. -
Yes they are for allergies and does not affect anything to do with your surgery. I take allergy meds and allergy shots every day/week

12 weeks post-op
grandmaofone replied to Indiesophie75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to go to the chiropractor and get adjustments because my back was hurting. She said that losing weight cause your back to move because your center of balance has shifted. I got two adjustments and felt a ton better!! -
I have a baby
grandmaofone replied to Adrianabelle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My grandson lived with me and I had surgery on a Monday and was lifting him fine by the following Monday and sitting on floor doing lesson plans with my daycare kiddos. You will be fine. My grandson was one and weighed 20 lbs at the time of my surgery and Dr. Said I could lift up to 25lbs at time of discharge from hospital. -
Stalls????????????
grandmaofone replied to Jasmine Smith's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I stalled at 5 weeks for two weeks, than at 7 weeks I lost 4 lbs. I just continued my diet and up my workout as I was frustrated. I did two miles on treadmill then four on a bike and did weights. After I killed myself in the gym that night the next day I lost a pound and started losing again. Just make sure you are getting in your vitamins and water:) -
I have not had to take any meds for my IBS since my surgery. I am 8 weeks out as of this week
