    January Sleevers ❄️

Wow @@joshwah that's awesome. My surgery was Jan 19 and I'm only down 2 pounds. I gained THIRTEEN pounds in the hospital from fluids and have lost all that, but would love love love to get a little of whatever magic youve got going. I've been compliant, just wish those old pounds weren't so attached to me. They aren't kids anymore and its time for them to move out and get a place of their own!

    1 week post op - I made it! :)

I'm a day ahead of you, surgery was Jan 19. Overall I'm extremely happy with how everything is going, particularly that I don't feel hungry. But my incisions are itching and driving me nuts and i'm just dog tired. Cleared to go back to work next week but only half time. I'm getting in 50 or so oz of liquid and 60/70 g Protein. How are the rest of you feeling?

    6 Weeks Post-op tomorrow...

Is it egg itself or the texture? Maybe you could make an egg custard? Or mix ricotta and some no sugar pudding powder? Also the Bariatric Eating (bariatriceating.com) website had a slew of great recipes. Also Pinterest.

    Question about stomach "contractions"

I haven't had contractions but I sometimes feel like I've swallowed a bellowing Wookie. Can be heard across the room. I hope that ends before my next board meeting!

    Anyone have regrets?

@@swtnss are you taking anything for your restless leg syndrome? I have it bad too but take .25 mg of mirapex at night or when I need it, like long car rides, and its been a great remedy for me. If you're not taking anything, talk to your primary care. I have also read that magnesium can help.

    Affairs?

Sometimes its hard to be a human, isn't it, with all our complexities and competing drives. There are days I definitely envy my dog.

    Scared

I had mine a week ago yesterday too. I'm a pain weenie but this was no problem. My arms hurt from being stretched out and getting up from prone caused a little blip of pain in the incisions but nothing terrible. I never felt worse than a five. That said, I am totally exhausted, I mean wiped out. The level of fatigue has taken me by surprise. I guess I ain't no spring chicken anymore. Blast me.
  8. I'm on a zillion antibiotics for Lyme disease and probiotics really helped me. I take a lot of them, expensive ones, 2x per day. I can't speak to whether or not they'll help with the sleeve, but I know I feel better when taking them consistently.

Has weight loss/surgery turned me crazy?

I wanted to ask a question about low fat eating. My NUT says she is not so hung up on fat anymore, well on good fats like avocado and walnuts etc., and I've been wondering whether people have had more or less success when loosening the fat restrictions. Also wondering if people have dealt with stalls with intermittent hi/lo tactics and whether they saw any success?

    support groups

Wondering how many of you are attending support meeting? How long did you do this? How much of your success do you attribute to participation in a group?
  11. I was banded in 2008. Not very successful. Had revision one week ago today - both removal of the band and sleeved. Surgery took about 4 hours. I'm happy to have had it done all at once. Its a pain to take off work twice, not to mention going thru the pain and risks twice. I feel pretty good, not much soreness left, just really tired. But I also have Lyme disease and that zonks me too. Mentally I feel pretty awesome, ready to rock this. I prepared for this surgery very differently and am very optimistic about success. In fact, I feel a "tumescent glow" :-)

    Band to Sleeve in 2015

I was banded in 2008 and am having revision on Monday. I am so excited. I never had trouble with the band apart from my own inability to work with it. I lost 40 pounds but only when I was eating nothing and working out twice a day. When I couldn't keep that up the weight came back. I feel a lot better prepared thi s time. Head's in a better place, older and wiser, researched more, and with a better tool I feel very optimistic. This forum has been great, incredibly helpful.
