I had my 9month post op appt yesterday and the doctor was pleased with my progress and asked me what my secret is, since I'm "doing better than most at 9 months". I'm assuming that's based on his practice, because from what I've seen here, it's pretty normal to lose 100+ in 9 months when you start at 400+ pounds.

Forums are weird though. The people that post on forums are really invested in the process. The people that started over 400lbs that post here are very motivated and active. In the real world that isn't really the case. The people that are eating around their sleeve, not being active etc. They don't post on forums until they are over a year out complaining they aren't losing. The people that post on forums are either success stories, or failures, there isn't a lot of in the middle. Your doctor is seeing more real world patients, that are not losing because they are unwilling to make changes. Don't downplay your success, you earned it.
