  1. @@KristenLe I did. And I gained 5 in about 3-4 days. (I weighed daily to see) That was 2 weeks ago. So since then I went back down in calories and I'm just holding. I'm trying to replace a few meals with shakes to see if it helps. I probably just need to give the scale a break.
  2. I eat salad every day, lol. I have done so for like 20 years. I think you might be right. My body is like ok give me a minute to figure out what's going on. I'm not close to goal, but I have made significant progress. I suppose if it takes me another year to get to goal, that's ok. I just don't want this to be the end of the road for me. Like who has wls and stays 300 pounds after the fact?? No go!! And then I think of the financial sacrifice it was/is. I at least need to get under 250.... maybe I'm stressing too much.
  3. @TheRealMeIsHere! @Kindle @Inner Surfer Girl I eat a low carb/ketogenic diet. I am sugar free and grain free. I always get at least 80 grams of Protein - no matter what. I don't usually snack or I may have one snack per day. I log my foods daily so I can keep up with what was "working". I've stayed closer to 900 calories since around the 3 month mark as I could never get myself much lower (probably due to fat intake, but you need fat if you don't eat carbs) It was working for the first 140+ pounds, so quite naturally my thought is that I needed to go down. Not sure. Keep in mind that I exercise for about 45 minutes to an hour 4 days a week. I also only eat between 10am and 7pm. Here's my macros for a typical day:
  4. @@VSGAnn2014 Idk... I'm getting desperate. It's this kind of "dysfunctional" or "disordered" eating that concerns me. If I eat too much, I don't seem to lose. I tried going up to 1000 and I gained about 5 pounds (2 weeks ago), and still can't get them off.
  5. I'm trying to find a therapist now. I'm not sure what I really need though. I considered going to a wls support group, but I'm sure I need more one on one.
  6. @@Kindle I've been hitting 1000 quite often cuz I'm so hungry!!!! I try to compensate with more exercise. The stalls are coming more frequently and the weight loss suddenly came to a screeching halt. I wonder if the doctor would consider giving me an appetite suppressant.
  7. I'm still struggling to control portions. Over-serving myself and then trying to eat it all. It is horrible!! I had been using a small bowl for my meals for months and lately I've been using a regular size plate. Huge mistake. So I'm back on my small bowls to see if I can't get control again. :-( Oddly, I don't struggle with food choices. I'm ok with the low carb diet.

Are you taking a PPI, like omeprazole? I was told that what passes for hunger so early post op could be too much acid production in stomach and taking a PPI med may help. You might want to check with your doctor,

I'm almost a year out. I'm pretty sure it's not acid. I only take the PPI when absolutely necessary.

That's where I'm struggling. I feel like I've met my calorie, fluid, and protein goals, but I still find myself hungry. It's probably head hunger, but my stomach is growling. Ugh!

    Let the rant begin...

I guess that's the whole point. It not anyone's place to overanalyze a person's weight - up OR down. Especially if we're not friends. Like I said, just tell me I look good, and keep it moving, LOL

    Let the rant begin...

@@CowgirlJane I'm pretty sure there was no harm meant. It's just interesting the questions people ask and how they ask them. I think most people are genuinely happy for me, but then there are others who attempt to compliment you and hurt your feelings at the same time. I hate the "how much have you lost and how much more do you want to lose" question because people start trying to figure out how much you weighed initially. It's just not their business. I also don't like assumptions made about me... like "I'm sure your feet don't hurt as much". Huh?! I just think it's rude when people are too presumptuous. I don't get angry though. I just think it's funny/interesting.

Why do people bash weight loss surgery?

@@katesuccess I could rant on and on. It's definitely one of my strong suits, LOL! I truly feel like I'm living for the first time in a long time. I no longer feel limited by my weight - even though I still have a lot to lose. I feel comfortable in my body and no longer hide. It's a wonderful feeling. I love that I've actually been able to inspire/motivate a couple close friends to seek wls, but I am always so amazed that people are still frightened of it.

Why do people bash weight loss surgery?

Right, but what about the millions of people who survived and are doing well! I bet the reason is because many of us keep it secret due to people's ignorance, so they probably know plenty of people who've had it, but don't know they've had it.

Why do people bash weight loss surgery?

OK, @@her1981 ... I gotta hear about this. Are these weight loss support groups online or in-real-life ,and are they limited to WLS patients or "everybody who's trying to lose weight"? It's groups online with everyone trying to lose weight; however, I have gotten negative feedback from people I know in real life "My aunt died when she got a gastric bypass"- 16 years ago! It may not have been laproscopic, she may have already been in poor health, maybe she didn't go to a bariatric center of excellence etc.... Just the suggestion that she consider a sleeve.... meanwhile she has been doing weight watchers for the last 10 years suffering from hbp, Type 2 diabetes, and had a stroke at 35. SMH!
