    2nd Surgery

The more I lose, the more strict I have to be about my carb intake. I would start by cutting way back on carbs and see what happens. Personally, I have to keep my carbs about 30 grams or less per day to lose - even with exercise.

    Oh Nuts!

Unfortunately, nuts are a trigger food for me.
  3. Idk... I've lost it's hard to say what will happen. Some people lose band and cup sizes. Other just lose band sizes. Personally, I've lost 140+ pounds and I started in an overflowing 48DDD and now I'm in an underfilled 44DDD but too large for a DD, lol. You may only want to buy one bra.

    Feeling Judged

I'll never understand why people think they have a right to tell you what's best for you. That said, I'm finding it necessary to be less diplomatic when people share their opinions.

    I feel devastated..

@@KristenLe She knew everyone here was telling the truth. She didn't wanna hear it.

    I feel devastated..

    ....and she's gone...
  7. I'm not going to stress it much more. I know I'm eating right and exercising. I wonder if it was a side effect of my kidney surgery and being on my back for a month. I'm going to watch it a few more weeks and see what happens.
  8. @@VSGAnn2014 It's digital. I weighed my daughter and some other items to make sure it wasn't wrong.
  9. @@CowgirlJane You're right! I might have to put her on punishment, old b*tch! LOL!!!! I've had that scale since 2004. I bought it from a specialty site because back then it was almost impossible to find a scale that went up to 400 lbs.

    ketogenic/keto diet

I follow a keto diet. Not sure about the muscle thing, but it's the only way I can actually lose weight. There are a couple keto groups on facebook. They have a lot of good info in the pinned posts. https://www.facebook.com/groups/ketogenicsuccess/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/407740426088952/
  11. @@anewme2015 I added a Protein shake yesterday and woke up to 2 of the 5 pounds gone, so I might increase calories to 1000 for a while and add more protein. Yesterday I had 1022 calories with 89 grams of protein. Today I came in at 935 calories, 99 grams of protein. I probably won't weigh again until Friday or Saturday. (hopefully)

    Stall again!

Every. Freaking. Month. It may be hormonal. I only lose the week to 10 days before my cycle. I usually lose a pound a day during that time. Then I stall or gain a pound or 2 for the rest of the month. It's maddening, but once I recognized the pattern, I grew to be ok with it.

I agree. When ever we try to build a bridge of friendship and support, those creepy trolls will move in and live under it! Ignore them. They're green, hairy and full of warts. ;)

Wow! Someone on here actually had the B@LLS to say that? Did their height/weight, medical history, genetics, etc. mimic yours that they assume you're exactly alike therefore should lose the same way - at the same rate? STFU is right!

  15. @@Steve Puckett I track daily on mfp (334 day streak! LOL). I posted that early on with a clip of my macros. I weigh, measure, and log EVERYTHING. Since the start of this entire process, I have been a "slow" loser. I don't lose every week. I lose one week per month (dang hormones!). People stall at all weights. The stalls I can handle... the 5lb gain out of the blue is worrisome though. I just don't like being obsessed with counting constantly. And just fyi, I don't compare my losses to other people's; especially considering all circumstances are not the same. We had different surgeries...yours included malabsorption. I've lost 148 pounds in one year and I'm proud of that. Congrats on getting to your goal in 1 year...
  16. @@Anna Nim I am hungry! Quite often in fact. I never really got a huge reduction in hunger. It did decrease temporarily, but it's back!!
  17. @@pr_pitbullgrl Yes, but not at much as I should. I walk a lot (about 45 minutes to an hour daily), but I need to incorporate more resistance training. I haven't done it in about 2 months... (I had to have surgery to remove kidney stones last month and have been on restriction. I got cleared for regular activity 2 weeks ago but I still had pain.) I'm gonna give it a go tonight, though. Congrats on your loss as well!! 10 pounds to goal is awesome!

    Deciding the Band

I got a sleeve because I needed more permanent restriction to control my eating. My surgeon said I was so young that I'd have to have my lapband replaced at least once or twice over the years and plus there's the fill maintenance. That was enough to convince me. I have struggled with portion control my entire life, so I knew the sleeve was right for me.
  19. @@pr_pitbullgrl Luckily I don't really have a sweet tooth, so I'm good with a sugar free fudgecicle when I want something sweet. I don't like rice and I don't care much for Pasta, so it's been really easy to go without that kind of stuff. Now, tortillas, chips, and potatoes are another story. I've learned to get along without them, but I do have a little on holidays. Outside of that, I'm super low carb day in and day out. If we have pizza, I just eat the tops, I like making stuff with zoodles... I feel like my eating is fine. I'd just like the scale to cooperate so I can stop obsessing about the numbers/calories. It's like I don't trust myself...
  20. LOL I don't really like hugs from strangers... I'm weird like that.
  21. @@Inner Surfer Girl I really hated OA. Maybe I need to find a different meeting. The one I went to was too huggy, lol
  22. @@Inner Surfer Girl I am definitely trying to control it. I have a type A personality with a need for control. I have struggled with control issues my whole life. My weight is a reminder of my lack of self control in that area, but that was a result of my mother controlling my intake while growing up. I started sneaking food when I was 5 or 6. I remember wedging myself between the washer and dryer with a bag of chips. (that was the first time and I can't believe I remember that!) When I was finally on my own, I thought "finally, I can eat whatever I want and not hide it!". But obviously I wasn't "hiding" it. What you eat in secret you wear in public. I surprised myself when I sought out wls, but I knew I needed help. I needed to save me from myself, you know? Anyway, the struggle with control continues. I'm going to check out that book. Thanks. :-)
  23. @@Inner Surfer Girl It's definitely unsustainable. I'm consistently around 950 most days. At my 9 month check up, they told me to stay at 800 calories, which at this point isn't happening. I wonder about my level of metabolic impairment.
