I am not pregnant but have had those terrible pains as well. It's gas. Gas some how makes it back up to your pouch but for some reason gets stuck. For me I could drink but the pain was still there. So what I have realized is that the more you move around the less often it happens. Both times it happened to me I had been sitting a lot that day. Alot of the foods we eat after surgery ate protein and with protein comes gas... I use the strip that dissolve in you mouth, and drink water with them. Maalox works the fastest for relief, and the chewable tablets are good to eat after you know you've eaten something that had a lot of protein in it, mainly dairy based. Hope this was helpful.
