I'm assuming that that is the problem. I'm thinking a few days ago I ate some blackberry cobbler and ever since then I can't seem to hold anything down. I have been banded for 11 months and have lost 70 lbs. but I never came across this problem. I have moved and will be making an apt. with one of the Fill Centers USA tomorrow but in the mean time is there anything I can do?

lellow, thanks for the advice. I read on another thread that slowing drinking pinapple juice works. So I ran to the store and bought some and sure enough it really worked for me. I am so relieved. I will stay on liquids today and tomorrow to help my poor tummy get better. And I will keep pinapple juice stocked!!

This is the best thing I have ever done. For me it has been so worth it. I was never a soda person but I do love international foods and I have found that I can eat all kinds of foods but just in a lot smaller quanities. You know like "normal" eaters... I can now sit down and slowly eat and savor my food. And because I eat a lot smaller quanities I indulge myself in really good food not junk. So great not to have that monkey on my back anymore...It did take 4 fills to finally hit my sweet spot and now I enjoy my food more than ever. I had my surgery 10 months ago and have lost 67 lbs. so far..Wouldn't go back to my nasty eating for anything. Hang in there.

Hello.. I recently moved to the Houston area and am looking for a fill doctor. At one point I saw an ad on this forum for Fill Centers that were in different parts of the country and I know one was in Houston. Now I can't find the info anymore. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Or know where I can find a fill doctor....

Poll: How many have acid reflux problems?
Lis123 replied to NJChick's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm with you. I never had it until my last fill about 3 months ago. I only eat 2 meals and never after 3pm. Just like you. I have a 4cc and I have it filled to 2.75. When it was filled at 2.50 it wasn't enough restriction. I too am worried about gaining weight if I loosen it up(I've lost 60 lbs so far) BUT I find my self very hungry at night and that is no fun. And yes I get acid reflux when I go to bed. I am going to loosen it up to 2.65 and see how that works out. I do feel like I can find a happy medium where I am not hungry and no acid reflux and still loose weight. I have 50 lbs. more to go. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know of your progress. -
My surgery was last December 2007 and I have lost 50 lbs. since then. 50 lbs. more to go. I'm averaging about 7-8 lbs loss per month. My hair has been falling out for the last 4 months and I'm getting worried now. I know it is normal to have some hair loss but was wondering when it stops. I have been eating plenty of protein and veggies, taking my vitamins and eating very healthy.

Thanks all. I purchased some biotin 5000mcg and a liquid multiple vitamins made by "NOW". It tastes good. I'll check into Nioxin shampoo.

So glad to hear from someone who has had the band for 5 years and congradulations on your weight loss. If WW is what you think you need to lose that last 20 lbs. then go for it. Healty eating is the key. I try to eat the good food first so that I have no more room for the soft and calorie filled foods.

Sounds like you need more of your fill taken out. See your doctor right away. Don't wait. -
crazycatlady.....I was thinking EXACTLY like you after my first fill. I paid for my own surgery and then before and after my first fill was told to watch what I was eating. I still could eat just about as much as I wanted. Then I had my second fill and still I could eat way too much. My third fill was way too tight and I couldn't eat anything without feeling like I was going to throwup. I had another adjustment a few days later and finally I my got to my "sweet spot" as they call it. I finally have restriction enough that I have lost 50lbs. in the last 5 months. I was very discouraged for the first 2 and one half months. All I can suggest is to just try to eat healthy and not too much until you get true restriction. Don't panic and be patient. You WILL lose weight.

I didn't have it before but have had it the last 2 weeks since my 3rd fill. Don't really want to have an unfill as this is the first time I have had good restricition and am loosing weight. I'm going to try some of the suggestion I have seen on this thread but if nothing works I will get a slight unfill. Banded on 12-13-07. Starting weight 233. Have lost 34 lbs. so far. -
It works alright. You've lost 62lbs. Congrats.
-
We are all different I guess. Maybe you need smaller fills. As long as the ultimate goal is to loose the weight do what works best for you. I had to wait 7 weeks before my first fill. The first three weeks after the surgery I lost 15lbs. Then the next 4 weeks I could eat just about anything and at any amount. I did not loose nor gain but I just hung in there knowing my fills were coming up. Hang in there. BTY I will be moving to the Houston area in May and will be seeking a doctor to do fills. Let me know if you know of one. Lis

I just had my first fill today. I was instructed not to eat or drink anything after 12pm the night before. Now I am on liquids for 2 days.
-
I too am grateful for knowing this. I'll be flying in a couple of weeks. I just had my first fill, 2cc in a 4cc band. I was put on clear liquids for 2 days and so far so good.

Hi all, I got banded on 12/13/07 and am so grateful to find this sight!!! In the past few days I found myself getting hungry but more so today. I have had all my liquids and protein drinks that I am allowed. Has anyone had this problem and is there any tricks to not being hungry....

Thanks for your response. I didn't think I could drink anything hot. I think tomorrow I'll hit the soup isle at the grocery store. You are doing very well with your weight loss. Congrats.
