Nerves are normal. It's a huge decision to make but for so many its been the best. Congratulations on getting your surgery date and lean on your team and the people here for support. Hugs Kate

No. Just start again, each day is a new day and yesterday isn't worth the bother worrying about.
-
Lol exactly how I felt

Congratulations I bet you feel over the moon and not too long to wait! I hope everything goes well when you tell your Dad. Do you have anyone else in the family or who is friends with your Dad, who can support you through telling him? Always remember though, this is YOUR life. Hugs and best wishes

One thing I bought beforehand which has been a godsend was two very soft long night/dresses. I had my incisions 'glued' so they haven't needed to be covered. The softness of the fabric is lovely on my tummy which is still sore because I have to inject myself in it twice a day. They also look 'dressy' so if people pop in I don't feel the need to change. Bliss. Best wishes for the surgery!

I am past the sipping stage now with no pain or discomfort and 10 days out. I don't drink big mouthfuls but much more than a sip and will stop if I feel 'full' I was a little shocked about how quickly I was able to increase the amount of Water I could drink. Must admit to being worried about that pre-op as I used to drink a lot of water every day.

@jane13 Yes, I really do miss it and feel this is the right time to crack on and get back to it. I have been so tired since surgery that now is the first time I have been interested. How are you feeling being back at work? I have another 3 weeks off

Should you blenderise or strain your cream shops to de-lump?
_Kate_ replied to nomorechubbybutt63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@joatsaint: There are a few nice chunky soups I have made in the past, I would have to dig out the recipes however they are not low carb and probably high I calories so I am going to start looking for some nice ones to try once I am on the pureed stage. Since I have been married my husband hasn't given me a look in in the kitchen, which I am not moaning about lol but it means I haven't tried anything new for a while. I have made tomato, pea and ham and chicken soup over the past 2 weeks but they have been very basic and for the liquid stage. You are so far out that they would probably be too bland and not enough ingredients for you. Make you a deal though, one I find a nice one and try it around week 6 - if it’s good I will send you the details. I love soup and used to make soup in a bread bowl which I picked up when living in Canada. Soups are cheap to make, easy to store and as I said before home-made is so much better than most shop bought. If you find any nice ones yourself please share!! -
Today is Surgery Day - 07/29/2015

I'm good thank you@@The Candidate. Recovery has been good at times and difficult at times (the first 3 days lol). I HATE the injections into the tummy twice a day and I am bruise to bits but they stop on Thursday, thank goodness. I am 10 days out and starting back with the dog walking tonight, I have a Lab and usually walk him 2 hrs a day and hubby does the early morning walk. I know I won't be doing the usual route, up and down hills and only for 30 - 40 minutes daily this week but I am stoked to be starting back. I am really pleased you are doing so well. You deserve it!! -
Congratulations Jane, I can feel your happiness in your post!! Yayyyyyyy

_Kate_ replied to nomorechubbybutt63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been making home made soups, blending and then straining them. I leave enough for a couple of days then freeze the rest in large ice cube trays. Nothing tastes better than home made soup and it really doesn't take much effort. I am not the cook of the house but even I have been able to do it, eat it and live !! lol -
Sleeve tomorrow. Any words of confidence from those who have done it.

Clear Liquid....does this include a protein skake made with water?
_Kate_ replied to flipper72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was advised that I could continue with my Protein shakes (which I make with water) but nothing after midnight the night before (and I was in surgery early evening). However clear usually means what you can see through, so I would check with your NUT. Best wishes for your surgery day -

@@The Candidate How are you feeling now? Thinking of you and hoping you are well x -
I have been taking Vitamins for about a year but changed them about a month before to the liquid one just to make sure I could take it without it being too sweet. Not had a problem with it post op and love the taste. I will change to tablets in a month or so if I can as they are much cheaper. I certainly don't think you need to take them pre op if you don't want to. Can you get them on insurance or from your GP?

Just thinking about you both. xxx
