  1. Hello CocoBelle.. as JamieLogical said everyone's experience is different but I agree that being knocked out was easy and over in a second. I couldn't have morphine for the first 2 days so I found the first evening difficult (I came out of surgery/recovery about 7pm) but within two hours I was up and walking around, sipping, sipping, sipping. Every day brings a milestone and you feel so much better. I am two weeks out now and feeling great, problems with constipation but that's resolved every now and again lol. I felt the surgery went really well and recovery has been spot on. I am still very tired so in between walking the dog and pottering around the house, I take it easy, nap or relax reading. Even this early out I know it's the best thing I have ever done for myself Nerves and anxiety is normal however this is a massive change in your life so you are bound to be anxious. Come here, chat, read, get support - this is an amazing site with a huge amount of people who have a vast amount of knowledge... I wish you all the very best for the run up to your surgery. Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on!
  2. It's very early days for you. Just keep sipping all day and you will be surprised what a few days difference will make. Congratulations on the surgery and I hope your recovery is speedy!

@Sanstan But telling ppl you are eating "smaller portions" and "high Protein, low carbs" is...MISLEADING, CUNNING, CRAFTY, SLY, SHADY. Ouch... Some of us here (ME INCLUDED) are MISLEADING, CUNNING, CRAFTY, SLY, SHADY. Whoda thought it !!! Watch out, falling from that high horse will hurt you one day. Last word on the matter.

  14. For me popsicles save the day when I feel the need to chew something. I know it's difficult but it's not for long! Keep strong
  15. Congratulations and welcome to the losers bench. Hope you have a speedy recovery
  16. @@LEW12 Try adding a little no added sugar apple juice to water. It really helped me. Worth a try anyway
  17. I feel the same. I am two weeks out now and apart from the first 3 days, I have been able to get in all my Water and Protein. I use MyFitnessPal every day and today my protein was 110, carbs 16 and calories 510. I had my first pureed meal tonight, 2oz of chicken with no issues whatsoever. Only moan is about the injections I had to do twice a day at home. I hated doing them but in the scheme of things it was nothing!
  18. Just one of the many --- I want to go sub aqua diving with my husband. Last year, in Egypt, my hubby went on a 5 day diving refresher course and he wanted me to go to do a beginners course but I wouldn't telling him, "Breathing underwater isn't natural so I'd never do it". I admitted to him a few nights ago that I had fibbed and was desperate to try it next year when it won't take 10 men to squeeze me into a wet suit like it would have last year ! I can't wait
  19. Just take it one day at a time and you will get there @BrownEyedTxGirl Its very early days for you and each day will bring a new milestone. ~gentle hugs~ Kate

@@jas84047 said : My answer has always been "smaller portions and hard work". It's not a lie... it's just as much of the truth I planned to tell most people. Can you explain why you stated that the answer jas gives is a lie and deceptive?

    What am I missing ?

    Ditto
  22. @@BrownEyedTxGirl How are you feeling today ?
  23. I take Ramapril for high blood pressure and just break open the capsule and either mix it in a shake or a little yogurt. If you are on capsules maybe you can do the same but check with your GP first. As for as the cholesterol pill you could also speak to your GP to see if you can have it in liquid form for 3 months? If not see if it can be ground down without changing the composition of the medication. I know some can't be ground down but worth asking. Good luck!
  24. Congratulations on your surgery day Best wishes and gentle hugs for a speedy recovery too !!
  25. OMG its finally here .... The day I can stop stabbing myself in the tummy twice a day with heperin. I can't tell you how HAPPY I am...My black and blue painful skin can now recover!!
