    6 month out:(

It seems like a long time but in the overall picture its nothing. The time will fly and it will be SO worth it. Keep strong
  2. I made sure the house was cleaned top to bottom, larder and fridge/freezer stocked and son, who was home from school, primed to jump if I asked for him. I was fine getting in and out of bed, off the loo and in/out of the shower. I didn't have problems with stairs and I didn't go out of the house for over a week. I was very careful with what I did and when I did it. My biggest issue was the heparin injections which I had to take for 21 days twice day. After 2 weeks I called the surgeon and near enough begged him to let me come off them. My tummy was black and blue and sore and once I was off them life was good and MUCH easier lol.

    Got my date

@@byebyefat Congratulations on getting your surgery date!!
  7. Initially I made a decision only to tell my husband, best friend and friends/work colleagues I go for lunch with during the week. My Manager knew too. I left it like that for weeks and that's how I wanted it to stay. However the week before the surgery date, some people at work had noticed that I was marked off sick for a month on our team calendar and asked if I was having issues with my neck (I have spinal stenosis) and decided have an op and I just told them the truth. For me, at that time, It felt quite liberating !!
  8. What Proteins are you having ? Are you getting all your fluids/vitamins in? You are bound to be tired/weak, you just had major surgery! Speak to your team and see what they say. Personally I wouldn't be touching rice.

    UK forum users

@chrisredjeep Its a shame they don't do samples in the UK, like they do elsewhere. Would save a lot of money in the long run. I think I was just lucky with mine, I loved them pre op and I am still loving them now.

    Day 4 post op

Have you tried a warm drink first ting in the morning, or try different temperatures of drinks through the day. If its the sickness and the medication isn't working, I would contact your team or GP and ask their advice. Hope you feel better soon!

  15. I would contact your team and let them know. they will decided if the surgery can go ahead. You can try Vitamin C which you can mix with water and x the dose by 3. That always cuts a cold in half for me. Best of luck getting rid of it.
  16. Best wishes for an easy surgery and speedy recovery. This is the first day of your new exciting life !!

    Pre op Diet

I did a two week meal replacement pre-op liver reduction plan. I couldn't be doing with all the meals going with it, so just stuck to drinks.
