..... For moaning about 1lbs but I have stalled for a while then weighed this morning and I have put on a 1lb. Now I know this will happen and I am certainly not sat here crying, or worrying, nor am I asking the usual, "What am I doing wrong", "Why can't I lose weight, sob", "WTH, my sleeve isn’t working, give me a refund" I know this is normal, I understand that. What I am asking is, has anyone just done a few days of liquids again and did it help? I do know the answer already, just want to hear others experiences in the hope it can help and encourage me and others Anyone?

@ Thank you so much ... could hug you soooooo hard right now!!

Keep 'busting' your behind until you get your date. It’s certainly not wasted, being delayed isn't being denied although I can fully understand your disappointment. Keep focusing on the big prize!! Best of luck and hope you feel better soon.

@@VSGAnn2014 Thanks Ann for your kind words. I have never really asked for any advice here but have given it in bucketfulls. one of the biggest things I have suggested in stalls is to put the scale away and "keep your eye on the prize". As I said in the OP im not worried, agonising or moaning about one pound. Hell I wouldn't moan about 5lbs. I am not stupid nor am I lacking patience or common sense. If you had really read any of my posts since I have been here you would understand that. I asked a simple question, I am not a "batshit crazy" type of person nor am I a yo yo dieter suggesting going back to liquids for a little bit. In fact I have seen it suggested here before, maybe I should have just searched for that instead of asking here. Enjoy your day and keep smiling!!

Congratulations, you have done an amazing job and you should be very proud of your achievements. You are a great example to all of us

I lost the hunger inkie, apart from the head hunger every now and again which is doable. I have to plan my day so I know when to eat and drink or I would go without and forget to eat. I have optimum nutrition and love it. High in Protein and low in carbs/sugars. I like the milk chocolate the best. I did use slimfast years ago and like them too. How’s it going for you?

I have increased my food recently Bean to about 800 calories a day and I am week 8 1/2 today. I have found it difficult to increase though and perhaps my body just isn't ready yet. Wish it was though lol.

@@Daisee68 I have a 22 year history of thyroid issues and know more about it than my GP which does annoy her lol. I had to fight our system to actually get NDT from Canada about 4 years ago and monitor my thyroid symptoms like crazy. Now I am on natural thyroid I haven't had any further issues. I have bloods every 2 months and they are fine at the moment. I also see the endocrinologist at the hospital once a year so all is tickity boo in that respect. Thank you for the hugs though, much appreciated! I will start the liquid stage tomorrow and see how it goes and I will keep you posted ~ Hugs you back~

I tried increasing @@Daisee68 and wanted to anyway but nothing, nad, zilcha. I guess different things work for different people, some need to increase and some step back to the previous stage and start again. Must have been very difficult doing two weeks
-
Oh I have @OutsideMatchInside. I just wanted to see if doing the liquid stage again works in a positive way for people to kickstart after a stall or not. I am quite happy to take as long as it does to drop the last 41llbs, its never been my thing to lose it all overnight.

Nothing for weeks, then bio-oil as my skin was so dry and rubbed it all over my belly.

Mood taking a dive
_Kate_ replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Shainadelphia I have been on and off it for 22 years due to my thyroid -- Blah Blah (long story). Its time I had a break again and I am fine with that. I want to get off BP tablets too if I can, so all I will be taking is natural thyroid and Vitamins. Fingers crossed. -
Anything in a tin/packet went although I do now have 60g of tuna (in water) in tins for emergency purposes. Most of my food is either in the fridge, cottage cheese, yogurt, babybel light cheese, meats etc. or homemade and in the freezer, Soups, broth, fish, meatballs, chilli etc. I buy large packs of chicken and turkey and weigh them into 3 or 4oz, then bag up and freeze. That way I can just use a bag at a time and know how many grams are in each bag. All my veg is frozen and I don't do popsicles or puddings. I am very lucky as my husband is a very good cook and hates anything out of a packet or jar and makes everything from scratch. I clean up the kitchen which usually looks like a scene of crime afterwards. I tend to eat fresh main meals daily and the rest of the meals from the freezer (leftovers are good to freeze too!) I can take out 2 frozen meatballs and sauce, take to work and by lunchtime pop in the microwave and ta daaaa... high Protein lovely lunch. I just found beef Jerky for the first time and that’s in my locker at work in case I miss lunch and can eat on the go. There are also packets in the car, in case of emergency. Edited to add: Protein powders and bars are in there too!!

Mood taking a dive
_Kate_ replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine has lasted about three weeks up to now, however I did come off Prozac and HRT before surgery so it was to be expected. Last weekend, I spent the whole time in bed watching films and having a pity party. I really wanted to stay away from the hubster to give him a bit of respite from my mood. I am back on HRT now but won't be going back on Prozac. I do feel much better this week although on the odd occasion I can be heard shouting at the laptop, rolling my eyes and sighing all dramatic like when I read some posts. When I feel like that, X is my best friend. In my day to day life I do say, "f*ck RIGHT off" a lot, in my head, especially at work, whilst plastering a smile on my face. It helps. -
Try not getting to the stage of feeling 'full' rather when you feel 'satisfied' is good. Feeling full (for me anyway) is a hair breadth between feeling like I have enjoyed my meal and my sleeve being happy and feeling like crap with a very pissed off sleeve. It can be very hard to judge. On the odd occasion I have eaten to feeling full, I have felt as if something has stuck in my throat, I have felt sick and once I was sick which wasn't pleasant at all. It's all a learning curve. YMMV
-
I was exhausted for a good 6 weeks.. resting is the best way to help, on top of protein and water. It does go... honest!! Hope you feel better soon ☺
-
I couldn't stomach the ready made shakes and found the powders ones much better and still love them. I'm afraid it can be a bit of trial and error! Congratulations on the surgery date and welcome to the forums

post op liquid phase question
_Kate_ replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On the full liquid stage, if I was having Soups or yogurts I would wait the 30 minutes for two reasons. I wanted to get into the habit and to make me feel full for longer. If I had a 12oz Protein drink (mine have always been made from powder with water), I still waited 30 minutes. It’s hard to get all your fluids in at the beginning and between the liquids, fluids and Vitamins etc I felt I was on task 18 hours a day or more!! I was just really lucky that I could tolerate drinking a lot within the first week post op. I have stuck to the 30 minute after meals however the only thing I did change for myself, was that I have dropped the 30 minutes BEFORE eating. Now I wait 10-15 minutes and that suits me well. YMMV -
Clean your teeth Drink more water/tea/ etc. (whatever is allowed) Look at a photo you hate of yourself at your biggest and visualise being healthy and slimmer and remember why you are doing this. Get a buddy and ask for/give support Remember this too will pass! sleep more Keep busy Clean the house from top to bottom Do all the laundry/prepare for surgery Research post op eating plans, educate yourself why each stage is important including the cleanse Treat yourself to a haircut/nails done Cross each day off the calendar, countdown to surgery day Get some fresh air, walk, visit family and friends. Ask for support and help, we have all been there. You CAN do it
