You have a good attitude seeing the wait as a time to reflect and prepare. You will smash it!

3 weeks out and thin soup, with a teaspoon and I left 95% of it. The waiters were looking at me as if I was crazy lol

2 weeks Pre-op any tips or suggestions?
_Kate_ replied to aprildewitt86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations to you both with regards to your surgery! I was exhausted for weeks after the surgery but was lucky that my youngest son walked the dog every day until I was four weeks out. How to get through the liver cleanse when you are tempted to cheat!! Clean your teeth Drink more water/tea/ etc. (whatever is allowed) Look at a photo you hate of yourself at your biggest and visualise being healthy and slimmer and remember why you are doing this. Get a buddy and ask for/give support Remember this too will pass! sleep more/Keep busy/Clean the house from top to bottom/Do all the laundry/prepare for surgery Research post op eating plans, educate yourself why each stage is important including the cleanse Treat yourself to a haircut/nails done Cross each day off the calendar, countdown to surgery day Get some fresh air, walk, visit family and friends. Ask for support and help, we have all been there. You CAN do it Let us all know how you are getting on -
Congratulations !! You are doing really well

Not too long to wait then! Hopefully you will get the date soon

Monday's the day! 36 hrs and counting!
_Kate_ replied to itstimealready's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck and speedy recovery to everyone having their surgery! I didn't drive for four weeks. I had a great recovery but didn't realise how exhausted I would be and only really started feeling more energetic on week six. Everyone is different though, so just see how you go and listen to your body and take heed to what it's telling you. -
When I wee it smells of Protein latte but my toots smell like english roses lol

3 days after surgery (Oct 21) and so much gas!
_Kate_ replied to 1000000's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip. You don't want to end up back in hospital with dehydration. It does get easier and each day is much better than the previous one. Mix the apple juice with the same ounces of Water, don't drink it neat. You have been through a massive operation and its very early days. Give it time. You CAN do this! Hugs and congratulations!! -
I'm only just over 3 months out but I haven't missed anything and believe me I loved my food. I have a good variety of meals and Snacks and still have a Protein drink a day and also a protein latte first thing in the morning. You will be surprised how much your taste will change. I don't have any hunger and I go out to eat about 3 times a week with family and friends and have never felt envious of what they are eating. I am very lucky but know this might change over time. I tend to see the positive side of things and focus on what I can eat and enjoy rather what I don't. You will be fine!!

Poop (Literally, and TMI, obviously)
_Kate_ replied to sonnysun's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the same issues and took Dulcolax liquid then later on tablets, 3 times a week. If I missed it, I just didn't go. Now I am 13 weeks out I eat more veg and its not been an issue. Get checked out to be on the safe side and good luck! -
Support after Sleeve?
_Kate_ replied to bbrookmedic's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Added: Please check with insurance if you are fit to drive straight after the op. I am in England so it's probably different but I wouldn't have been covered by insurance for 2 weeks. In the end I didn't drive for 5 weeks. -
Support after Sleeve?
_Kate_ replied to bbrookmedic's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
How old are your children @@bbrookmedic ? Can they help at all? Prepare meals beforehand and freeze them. Share taking the kids to/from school with another Mum. Clean the house from top to bottom/change all the beds, get the laundry sorted. Rest as much as you can after the surgery, ask the older kids to watch the younger ones. Arrange after school clubs or play dates at friends houses. Get in as much food as you can so you don't need to shop for a while. How about asking a local teenager in to help. Hope it all goes well for you!! -
Congratulations!! It's a great feeling isn't it

I count Water, Protein, carbs, sugar and fat. I tend to have more carbs at the weekends. 20 or less weekdays, 50 or less at the weekends.

Any UK sleevers having surgery soon?
_Kate_ replied to sam42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Sam, There are a few UK sleevers here, you could try posting in the UK room too. I was sleeved 12 weeks ago. Congratulations on the surgery date! What made you decide on going to Belgium? -
My BMI has gone down from 39.6 to 27.5!! Officially just 'overweight'. I am spending more time on another site now but will pop back here every now and again :-)
-
I walk my dog for 90 minutes a day, up and down hills, through forests etc near to where I live. I joined a gym 4 weeks ago and use the toning tables and the cardio vascular part of the main gym. In 6 weeks I will be giving up the toning tables and starting on the weights, hoping to build up some muscle.

First milestone at 12 weeks out!
_Kate_ replied to Amberina's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations and well done!! -
Since surgery on the 23rd July 2015, I have been taking Centrum Chewable (not gummies) and everything has been fine. I had bloods done and last week got the results which were great. I had no need of B12 injections and Iron was good. So I was very happy. On advice from my dietitian, I started taking regular Centrum yesterday and have thrown up after taking it. All I can taste is the Vitamin and its put me off eating today. My dietitian isn't in until Thursday and wondered if anyone else had this issue?

Congratulations on the surgery and speedy recovery! I felt I turned a corner with energy at the end of week 5 and I was very good with getting Water and Protein in after the surgery, apart form the first 3 or 4 days. Week 6 was good and I felt back to normal.
