  1. @@Namaste6 First of all congratulations on the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Secondly, just keep sipping all day. Your sleeve is recovering from a huge change in size and you will be surprised how things can become easier day by day. Day three for me was probably the same as you but by day 10 I was getting more than 64oz of fluids in with no problem. Do you have Protein shakes made with Water? I counted those in with my fluids total. Initially I mixed the protein with about 20oz of water and sipped on it constantly. Have you tried warm drinks, very cold drinks, and room temperature drinks? Try them all and see what works best for you. Best wishes !! ~ Hugs ~
  2. The restriction will certainly kick in once you are on pureed foods. I seriously felt that my sleeve was far too big when I was in the liquid stage as I didn't feel 'full'. Once I ate pureed, holy hell! lol As for hunger, are you sure it wasn't 'head hunger’? This was such a mental battle at the beginning rather than physical one for me and it’s tough. You look at the food, soup or whatever and think, "That's so small, it can't satisfy me". Try using smaller utensils, cups, plates, knives and forks. For me that really helped. Our brain is a wonderful but complex thing and head f**ks are normal after surgery. Eat slowly and remember that it takes 20 minutes for your brain to register you are full. Don't let it get the better of you! Congratulations on the surgery
  3. You will get a huge amount of variety of answers on this topic Ricardo. Personally, I stayed with basic soups in the liquid stage after surgery, without potatoes. It’s not too long until you get into the pureed stage and then you can slowly start introducing other foods and monitor how your new tummy is coping with it. As long as you are taking all your Vitamins don't worry too much about a nutritionally balanced diet right now. Concentrate on Water, vitamins and liquid food but don't over complicate things. I am 3 1/2 months out now and wouldn't eat bacon or sausage right now and probably won't for a long time. As I said everyone is different and you need to find out what works for you. Congrats on the surgery!!

@@sam42 I used Optimum Nutrition and usually get it from Amazon, although if you shop around you might find it cheaper. I loved it before the surgery and still love it. I usually have double chocolate or milk chocolate. It's quite sweet so I mix it with 8 oz of Water and it always keeps me satisfied.
  5. Try searching three week stall in the forums... There is lots on information about it there. Don't worry.. Most of us have been through this and congratulations on the surgery ☺

    Going Back to Work

I had 4 weeks off, I didn't realise how tired I would be. I went back on week 5 and it nearly wiped me out. By week 6 all was well. It just depends on the person and the type of job they do.

    Sitting in a bath

I had my first shower 2 days after the surgery and stood with the Water more on to my back than my front. How long? Depends on how you feel. I was quite tired so once I had washed my hair and 'bits' I was out. Enjoy!
  22. It’s normal to be nervous before the surgery, I think we all go through the questioning in our heads. Is this right for me? Will it be painful? How am I going to cope with so little food in the first few months? And on and on. However we all get through it and I can honestly say that it’s been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Believe in yourself and your inner strength, you CAN do it. As for things to take to the hospital I would advise (For one night): Loose clothes to go home in. Something to read (such as magazines, which you can just pick up and put down in between walking, sipping, sleeping, walking sipping) Gas-x strips Soap, toothpaste and toothbrush. Nightwear/underwear I stayed 3 nights and 4 days and so in addition I took and found helpful: Kindle Face wipes Lip Balm Phone and charger Shampoo and body wash 3 x nightwear I spent most of the time in between the walking etc either in bed sleeping or watching tv/reading or being checked over by the health professionals, especially in the first day. My husband brought a pillow to put over my tummy so the seat belt didn't dig in for the drive home. Otherwise the hospital provided everything else I wanted. Best of luck for the surgery and for a very speedy recovery!!

    Talk time Side Sleepers

I am a side sleeper but had to wait until about week 3 before feeling comfortable to sleep on my side. First night was BLISS
  24. I know a lot of people write down how many pounds each week or month but I have never done that. I can't even remember what I lost in the first month as it didn't matter as long as I was losing, either lbs or inches. I used to weigh every day but don't do that now. I think I will go back to that once maintaining so I can keep an eye on it and nip it in the bud if I need to. Everyone loses at a different rate so as others have said don't pin your hopes on what others have achieved. As for 2lbs, I am sure you will do that! Good luck for the surgery and a speedy recovery
  25. Truth is good, its just how its put over at times. You know the saying, "it's not what you say, it's how you say it" thing.
