  1. Congratulations for tomorrow!
  2. I did a heck of a lot of reading and preparing my home for after the surgery. I bought stuff which I felt I might need afterwards and spent a lot of time here. Keep busy! It’s normal to be nervous before the surgery, I think we all go through the questioning in our heads. Is this right for me? Will it be painful? How am I going to cope with so little food in the first few months? And on and on. However we all get through it and I can honestly say that it’s been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Believe in yourself and your inner strength, you CAN do it.

    Newbie

Congratulations on your surgery Do you have a NUT or did they give you any advice on this?
  4. I was shocked that my hubby put up with my moods! I warned friends and work colleagues too and they were all understanding as being moody isn't really me. It'll pass. Be kind to yourself
  5. Thanks @@chrisredjeep and @@Kathy812 Chris, we need to speak on the phone before you go!

    Scale

Stick to the plan and hang on in there but I do know how much it sucks! It's a good idea about putting the scale away. Be kind to yourself, you are doing great

@vsghyster Nice to meet you! I usually have more Protein, calories and less carbs than yourself but that doesn't work with everyone. I guess its finding out what works for you regarding weight loss. Pain in the backside trying to figure it all out, isn't it!! Personally I don't feel you are eating enough calories and protein seeing as you are working out 4/5 times a week. Does your dietitian have any suggestions about that? Are you noting down everything you are eating and drinking? It's trial and error at times to see what works for you. Best of luck!!

    Going back to work

It's always awful, that first day back. Hope it all went well!
  10. Having spent a number of years in Greater Manchester Police ('A' Division) as a policewoman, I can only praise the police officers, soldiers and other emergency services, some we will hear about and some we won't, working in this mad world we live in. My heart breaks for the families and friends of those killed and maimed and those waiting at home whilst their family member or friend go out to work, day in and day out to try to make our lives safe. Reading the news today it took me straight back to being in dangerous situations myself. You live on adrenaline and only reflect on 'what if's' hours later. God bless each of them to make the right decision at the right time and keep them safe. RIP Diesel.

What can I do with...sweet peppers?

    BBQ them before stuffing them!
  22. I went back for too early because I felt guilty that others were managing my caseload. I really wish I hadn't though and if I had my time again I'd have longer off. Be kind to yourself, the work will always be there but you will never get the recovery time you should afford yourself!

    Addicted to BP

Same as Chris really. We don't have support groups where I liv in Englande, nor much follow up with the team apart from 6 weeks, 3 months and 1 year. They are always there if I need them though, however I chose to read and learn from others in support groups rather than keep contacting them. I was on a lot when I was recovering from surgery and tend to be here (in the background) if I am working from home. I wouldn't say I was addicted though and quite often stay logged in when I am not here because its easier than keep logging in.
