  1. It's probably gas but it might be an idea to check with your team.

    Dare I Ask?

What has experiencing morbid obesity in life taught you? That it can stop you from living life to the full Is there anything you don't want to forget about your former life as you drop weight and hit goal? Yes, everything. It will keep me focused. What changes do you envision in your life just because of weight loss? More intimacy with my husband, more clothes that I like rather then 'will do' (hurrah) and doing things I couldn't do before!!

    Meet with Surgeon tomorrow

I think I covered all bases when I met with my surgeon so can't really help in that but just wanted to wish you well for the meeting tomorrow
  6. I have lost 86lbs in just over 4 months but I am eating well, certainly not undernourished and have 12 lbs to goal. Maybe if we eat well, the body will just stop at its natural weight. When I was thinking about it today (funny you should do this post!) I pondered about reducing my goal weight. Now I have said that I will probably stall for the next few months lol

    time it takes to eat

I guess it depends on the meal you are eating too. Some foods need longer chewing time however I usually take 15 to 25 minutes.
  8. I am no expert nor an I a medically trained but I would expect you to be weak only having 3 meals a day at your stage (do you supplement that with any Protein drinks?) I stayed in for the first few weeks and rested and I felt weak even doing that! You have been through a massive surgery so be kind to yourself and don't overdo it. Are you logging all your meals and working out the protein/calories etc etc Are you drinking enough? Being dehydrated can cause dizziness. Contact your team or GP to be sure! Congratulations
  9. Lol, I will remember for next time Kathy and thanks!
  10. So, we just got back from a fantastic holiday, nearly 3 weeks in Cuba. Beautiful country and the Cuban's were very friendly and lovely I have to admit that I was scared before going away, as I only had my sleeve on 23/07/2015 and was worried about getting enough protein/water and food I could eat/tolerate. Especially as the majority of the holiday was driving round the Island and I wasn't sure what we would be eating. I took 24 Protein bars and a bag of Vitamins and off we headed to the sun. I ate clean, well 97% of the time, drank Water and stuck to chicken and fish when I could. I was sick 4 times (ate to much or too fast, or had food that didn't sit well with the sleeve) but otherwise everything was okay. I had a small beer near to the end of the holiday and it made no effect at all! I was very disappointed that I didn't feel drunk (only kidding!) Jumped on the scales this morning and I am 5llbs down from before I went away. I was astounded as I felt I did eat a lot even though I stuck to the plan. I have NEVER EVER been on holiday and come back lighter than when I went. I LOVE my sleeve! Kate (watching the rain pour from the English sky and wishing she was back in Cuba )

    Fruit?

I steer clear of fruits but some every now and again won't harm.

    Emotional, now?

My emotions and moods were up the creek after the surgery but it does pass. I came off HRT and anti-depressants 6 weeks before the surgery and had to stay off for 6 weeks after so I put it down to that but it's very common from reading the boards here and elsewhere. Really hope you feel better soon. Be kind to yourself.

  18. @@marcy0912 Hope you have a wonderful cruise I have just got back from Cuba and the last week of the holiday we were at an all inclusive and it was fine. Plenty of choice and no one said anything about my one course instead of the usual three, they were all more interested in what they were eating themselves. Let us know how you get on!

    Surgery is tomorrow!

First of all Congratulations for tomorrow and wishing you a speedy recovery :) For one night: Loose clothes to go home in. Something to read (such as magazines, which you can just pick up and put down in between walking, sipping, sleeping, walking sipping) Gas-x strips Soap, toothpaste and toothbrush. Nightwear/underwear I stayed 3 nights and 4 days and so in addition I took and found helpful: Kindle Face wipes Lip Balm Phone and charger Shampoo and body wash 3 x nightwear I spent most of the time in between the walking etc either in bed sleeping or watching tv/reading or being checked over by the health professionals, especially in the first day. My husband brought a pillow to put over my tummy so the seat belt didn't dig in for the drive home. Otherwise the hospital provided everything else I wanted.
  20. I was fine with stairs as soon as 2 days post op.
