I can understand the uninterest in food as I went through that but set my phone alarm every three hours to eat something and forced myself no matter how small the meal/snack was. Your body has gone through a huge shock and along with that your head has too. Do you have a therapist you can talk to? You don't have your stats showing so I don't know if you are starting from a lower BMI so can't comment about the weight however you are on week three with the infamous 3 week stall. So pack the scales away, keep to the programme and check in another week, hard to do but will stop the head f**ks. Have you spoken to your NUT about starting other foods? Best of luck and congrats on the surgery! Hang on in there, it'll get better

Feeling Weak.....Does anybody get weak when you are on pre-op or right after surgery on such a low calorie diet?
_Kate_ replied to ellenelise12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's normal and it would be unusual to have a ton of energy after the pre op liver cleanse, the surgery and then early recovery. I didn't get any energy back until after week six. Kate -
Did anyone not have a drain?

Sleeve ... no drain -
I started taking Vitamins three weeks before surgery out of choice and I wanted to get into the habit of remembering to take them.

Would anyone be interested in meeting as a group in the next few months? We could meet centrally for everyone, have a meal (don't forget your doggy bags) and perhaps stay over in a cheapie hotel? I would be happy to arrange it, if we had enough interest. Kate

If its for 24 hours blitz the house from top to bottom. Drink lots of Water Prepare for surgery, pack bag, sort out kitchen. Go for a long walk. Get support from here. Go see a film (take lots of water) Have a long soak in the bath. Have the attitude of, "I can do this" not "I'm going to be angry". Best of luck!!

Is it really worth it?
_Kate_ replied to BrightEyes42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@BrightEyes42: Every time in the past when I started to really get the weight off I would sabotage myself and gain it all back plus some. This was me to a T !! 25 years of doing it, kind of punishing myself by gaining it back because I didn't feel worthy of losing it. Five and a half months out and nearly at goal and I couldn't be happier. I feel great and can do so much more. My only regret was that I didn't have this done before. Its life changing but in such a positive way. Best of luck for a positive experience and speedy recovery. Remember the sleeve is a tool not a miracle -
Staying on track when you're under the weather
_Kate_ replied to lauraellen80's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had a chest infection recently and went right off food. I stuck to Protein Latte, protein drinks and bars and gave the exercise up for a week. Listen to your body, rest, take it easy and you should be fine in no time -
What percentage of people gain the weight back ?
_Kate_ replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a tool not a miracle. If people misuse it, they will gain over time. I have no wish to do that. But then, I am perfect hahahahahahaha (Just put that there in case I gain, then you can all shout at me lol) -

PreOp weight loss?
_Kate_ replied to shannonlarson209's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was asked to stay on the liver diet for two weeks before surgery (I did it for 18 days in the end). My surgeon asked me to do it to shrink the liver rather than lose weight so didn't set a target. -
I was a complete b**ch for a couple of weeks and was shocked my husband decided to stay lol. At lot of people go through this. It's seems par for the course. Congrats on the surgery

Yes, please have your thyroid checked. Please make sure you post here and still get support. I do really feel for you x

Well done !! Keep up the good work

I used Optimum Nutrition milk chocolate and double chocolate. I love the flavour and mix it with 4oz water rather than milk as I find it too sweet with milk (and heavy on the carbs).

I am on HRT and 5 months out. I have started to have the sweats throughout the day. That intermittent with freezing to death makes a fun day of dressing warm then stripping off. Following the topic !

Just after surgery and up to a month ago I had to remember to eat. I set my alarm for meal times. Now 5 months after surgery I still don't have hunger but all of a sudden my body tells me I need to eat. It's hard to explain but it's working for me. I have cut down from 6 meals a day to 3 and one snack.
