When online dating didnt work out....

Keep trying and have a lot of laughs along the way. If it's not working, stop contact, explain why and move on. I met my husband online... sometimes it does work out
  2. I have a squatty potty and it's been really helpful !!
  3. Looking great and your smile says it all !! Well done

    When will my energy return?

You have just been through a massive operation and its going to take time to recover. Some people state they are back at work a few days after the surgery and feel normal however I wouldn't say that was the norm. It was 6 weeks before I felt my energy was anywhere back to normal and even then if I over did it, I would be in bed at 8pm. 40 oz of Protein is very low even at 3 weeks post surgery. Try upping the protein and resting when you feel you need to. Keep up with fluids too! Congrats on the surgery!!

    Iron constipation!

Dulcalax worked for me earlier on. I wouldnt go at all if i didn't take it twice a week. It's not nice to go through, not pooping, but it does get better ! Really try to get as much Fluid in as you can. I drink 20 oz on the way to work in the car, then have a 24 oz Protein latte once im at work. Thats 44oz before 9am. Fluids were never really an issue from me after the first 2 weeks so I am very lucky. Please keep sipping away!!

    Crazy diets

My worst one was "The fart Diet" also known as the "Good God I can't eat any more sodding cabbage soup diet". Second worst was the Pot Noodle diet. Breakfast of fruit then 2 Pot noodles a day.
  10. I was a nightmare week 3-5. My poor husband and sons, they couldn't do right for wrong and I was a complete nightmare. It will pass, just hold onto that thought and keep busy.

    New here and so anxious

You will go through so many emotions over the next few months. Just remember it's normal, come here to vent and discuss and know that most go through the same feelings. You're not alone.
  12. Dulcolax is fantastic... for the first 3 months I took it twice a week but don't need anything now. In fact in more regular now than before I had the surgery. I used to be lucky to go twice a week, now I go every day.

    Best Protein Bars?

i LOVE Grenade Carb Killa Caramel Chaos but my hubby has to lock them away or I'd have 2 or 3 a day lol. I just have one every now and again when I am on a higher carb day (I usually try to stay below 20 carbs Monday-Friday and 50g at the weekends). They are really nce to eat !!
  14. Did your doc give you a reason as to why you should only have 41g protein? I think thats really low.
  15. You should be fine at 10 weeks, just use a bit of common sense and drink loads and loads of bottled water. I went to Cuba 14 weeks after surgery and spent 3 weeks there. As we were driving aound the island for half that time I took lots of protein bars just in case I didn't fancy the look of the place we were eating in. In the all inclusive part of the holiday, I stuck to chicken and fish and didn't have a problem. Enjoy your holiday !!
  16. We went to the theatre to see a play last weekend and off I toodles to the loo before it started. I saw a woman washing her hands at the sinks on the other side of the room and in a split second I thought, 'goodness her legs look good and such a tiny tush' THEN I realised down the long hallway of sinks, in the ceiling to floor mirror was MY reflection. I swear to God, I still can't get my head round it! People keep telling me I look good but to me, well my head needs to catch up with my body, when it comes to believing how well I have done. I bought a pair of size 12 (uk) and 8 (USA) jeans last month and i love wearing them !! Kate P.S Must get my eyes tested

Walk, walk, walk and then walk some more. GasX strips helped me a lot.

Post Op day 2 at home Sleeping

I had to sleep propped up for a week, then on my back flat for a week before I could sleep on my sides. Whhoohhooo I was so happy when I could finally get comfy to sleep! Congrats on the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery

    I had a binge :(

It was a mistake, learn from it and move on. Please don't feel guilty, we have all done stuff we don't feel good about once the 'desperation for food mist' has lifted. Just know youre heading the right way and each minute is a fresh start. You CAN do it !!
  21. I had four weeks off and wish, on reflection, that I had taken six. I didn't factor on feeling so exhausted!! Good luck with the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery

    Not enough food

We are all so different, especially earlier on when we are recovering from the surgery. I am still on 5 small meals a day, otherwise I wouldnt get all my Protein in (100 gr). You may find that you can eat more of one thing and not so much of another, so its a case of just trying to see what works and what doesnt. I had my surgery at the end of July last year and I am only at the stage of having two eggs scrambled and If I eat boiled eggs, I can only have one. Just go with what your body is telling you. Congratulations
