First bowel movement after sleeve
_Kate_ replied to arilove90s's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Funny isnt it that some of us openly discuss bowel movements twice in our lives.. after giving birth and after weight loss surgery... -

Losing yourself literally
_Kate_ replied to doxaholic's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
On my face, the only change is that I have bags under my eyes, which I have never had before. Along with a TT and BL im having those bags removed in January as they make me look tired... Otherwise, I never had many wrinkles and I don't now. -
Are you drinking lots of Water? Are you doing enough walking? I tried numerous stuff which didn't do a thing but then I tried Dulcolax and it really worked for me. Hope you feel better soon ! Kate

Congratulations on the sugery !! If you don't need the pain meds why take them? Just curious. -
I am a side sleeper and had problems sleeping on my back after the surgery. At 6 weeks i managed to sleep on my side and boy, what a difference. I slept like a baby. Congratulations on the surgery !!

When did you start drinking coffee?
_Kate_ replied to ChristinasSleeveStory's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was always a tea drinker before surgery, the only time I ever had coffee was if we were out for a meal and at the end of it. I couldn't face tea after surgery but did start drinking decaff coffee about 6 months in. I still drink it now, just a few cups a week. Im 15 months out and last week had a cup of tea and enjoyed it. Hurrah -
Fun question here, I'm curious!
_Kate_ replied to vannababyy22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a feeling it was poached eggs. I ate so many at the beginning that I cant face them now -
Congratulations... You have done great so far and im sure you will in the future. Make sure you let us know how you are over the next few weeks !! Speedy recovery

It's wonderful when you start feeling good... Congratulations !!

I don't think you can really prevent it, it either happens or doesn't. I found hair thickening shampoo really helped making it look better, that and keeping my hair in a short bob. I did take Biotin and not sure if its worth getting that horse pill down every day but I didn't think it would do any harm to try. My hair is now growing as normal, 15 months out. Having skin surgery January and I bet it falls out again

First bowel movement after sleeve
_Kate_ replied to arilove90s's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used Dulcolax in the end after trying loads of other stuff. Take a pillow and put it over your tummy whilst you are on the loo and try to raise your feet off the floor (a box might help).. I hope you get relief soon -
TT & BL on November 21!

Exciting times... I have mine in January. Hope it all goes well and make sure you come back and let us know how you are doing -
Congratulations and best wishes for today and a speedy recovery

My garments are being provided by the company I am going with however they did say they would feel really tight. Are you having the TT and thigh lift on the same day? Hope it all goes well for you!!

Weight loss, Skin, and hope for those struggling...
_Kate_ replied to SalOdyssey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow.. amazing !! Congratulations -
Initially (and this is my personal thought) salad isn't the best thing to eat early on only because your stomach is still recovering, will be tiny with the swelling and you need Protein before salad. I eat salad now after 15 months and really enjoy it but there are times that i can't eat much, maybe a couple of bites after I get the protein in, on the plate. Go by what your team says, as I am sure there will be lots of differing thoughts here

How long is recovery after surgery?
_Kate_ replied to OhHeyMarina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had four weeks off and wish I had taken 6 weeks. Recovery is different for everyone and it also depends on what job you do. Are you sat at a desk or are you on your feet all day? Do you need to lift heavy things? etc etc. I was still exhausted at week five. Just go with what your body tells you. Kate -
If you are so allergic to iodine, it might be a good idea to contact the company to double check. Best to err on the side of caution. I love Protein puddings too. It's like having a treat rather than a meal. Kate

One thing you do to set up your day in a positive way?
_Kate_ posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I still have a protein latte (25 oz) every morning and still really love it. For the first time since the surgery I ran out a couple of weeks ago and they couldnt deliver for a week. Good god, I was like a bitch from Hell. I like the fact its a good chunk of fluid which starts me off in a positive way plus the 15g of Protein first thing is a good way to start the day. What do you still do which helps set you up for the day? Kate
