I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis OzRoo... We should do a survey and see how many auto immune sufferers have a runny nose lol Hope you get relief soon

I am 16 months post op and my nose still runs after eating or drinking. I buy tissues in bulk now. I would have thought it would have lessened by now but it hasn't. Family and friends all know now that I will be blowing my nose throughout a meal. It's a small price to pay although annoying. I don't use anything to try to dry it up, with all the tablets and vitimins we take I didn't want to add another thing to the list.

I have always suffered with constipation, since being about 9/10 years old and I too was worried about a high Protein diet making it worse. I find that if I don't drink enough or walk enough, I can get really compacted and its a nightmare to 'get out'.. Im just doing a colon cleanse over 2 weeks and stuff is certainly moving along ! Someone reported that when they eat advacado they go to the loo. I think there are lots of suggestions and ideas. Its just finding the one that works for you. Good Luck ! Kate

First of all congratulations on the surgery! Secondly, just go with what your body is telling you. It might be that a short walk is all you can do right now. You have been through a huge change and you are bound to feel weak especially if you did a 2 week liver cleanse. Glad you are feeling better by getting back on the Soups. Sounds as if you will be very sucessfull. Kate

I won't eat bread as it fills me up so much and then I don't get the Protein in. Even now 16 months later, however I am glad... I could eat a whole loaf before lol.

Yes its normal. Try staying off the scales for a few days and see how you are then. I know its hard initially and we want to weigh everyday to see the numbers going down but as long as you are keeping to the plan it'll come off. Maybe just not every day! 19llbs in 11 days is amazing, focus on that and be kind to yourself. Congratulations on the surgery Kate

In the stomach area or in the 'tummy area'?

I tried a year out of surgery, pickles and onions don't agree with me anymore but olives are lush. They are a slider food for me though so I don't have them very often and usually when I am eating out so I can't hog the whole jar! Kate

Erm..... Sorry, will have to go back and read that a few more times.

I hid it initially, apart from a couple of good friends but then I told everyone prior to surgery, especially if they asked why I would be *out of action* and afterwards if they asked how I had lost the weight. I have been fully supported by friends, family and workmates. Only one asked if I couldn't manage to lose weight with dieting. My 5 minute stare with raised eyebrows answered her question lol. Kate

My NUT told me I was okay for a bowl full of Pasta by week three.... After that I stopped listening to her. Nice lady but jeeze louise...
