    Daily Sugar/Carb Intake

After surgery I kept my carbs very low, under 20 most days maybe 25 on a rare day. Once I had lost quite a bit of weight I started carb cycling and that seems to work well for me. Even on the days I eat more carbs, they are healthy ones. I have never counted sugars. I'm so boring hahaha

    Alcohol

Just be aware that some people transfer from food addiction to drinking addiction. Saying 'I'm only going to have one' can turn into 3, 4 or more, then you get the nibbles and you could make bad food choices. Lots have stated that they have a drink every night, a glass of wine or a spirit but they are mainly in the maintenance phase. Please, just be careful. Kate
  5. I did 18 days of just Protein drinks, no food at all. It's exhausting to reduce your calories in such a drastic way, so no wonder you are tired. Rest when you need to, you will eventually get your energy back!! Kate

    New year new me

I took it slow and added a different food every couple of days. Protein (meat/fish) with juice/thin gravy/mayo, cottage cheese mashed down, soft scrambled eggs, thicker Soups blended, Greek yogurt (no bits), mashed advacado. I pureed mine in a machine and made sure it was as fresh as it could be especially in the first year, so soups were home made, chicken corn fed and organic etc etc. Did your team not give you a guideline to follow?
  7. Do you have a NUT you cant talk to? Do you track your intake and see any pattern? I hope you feel better soon!! Kate

    Calories

Dont worry about calories at this stage. Work on getting your Protein and Water in. Everything else will fall into place. Congratulations on the surgery Kate

My husband is questioning my decision

You will be able to go out and eat, just smaller portions or starters and might have to stay away from certain foods such as fried and heavy carbs. I have 2 lunches a week out with work colleagues and my family and I go out a couple of times a week at night. Initially it might be difficult finding something you will tolerate and I used to have Soups a lot. Get in the habit of taking a container so you can bring the rest you can't eat for later in the day, especially if its Protein. The benefit of health FAR outweighs the fact you can't eat what you used to. Good luck ! Kate

    I'm freaking out a little

You will be fine, I'm sure and congratulations. Keep yourself busy, have your hair cut, do all the laundry, clean the house and stock the cupboards, write Holiday cards etc etc and it will fly by. Good luck !! Kate

    Morphine drip?

I was and I LOVED it... I was sad when it was blocked after a day and I had to have the line removed. Kate
  16. @Imart133 [ For the first 3 months you should have nothing but clear liquids and Protein drinks then after 3 months you can begin with soft like eggs and still protein drinks. You can find a book on gastric sleeve that will tell you step by step what doctors recommend. I'm 7 months post-op and eating pretty much what is tolerated. Be aware that if your sleeve surgery was done properly you may not be able to tolerate what you once could and your taste could change.....my tastes have changed and I cannot tolerate eggs or mayo, sounds weird I know.. I've lost 117 to-date after 7 months so you will do great just follow a reputable diet and not this Mexico doctor and like the last person said find a u.s.doctor asap, for your health...but do your homework and see how many of these surgeries doctor has performed and see what reviews doctor has been given by his/her patients.. hope this helps! Good luck!! ] Please be aware that not all teams state 3 months for clear liquids and protein drinks. Mine was one week clear, one week liquids, two weeks pureed, two weeks soft and then if i was ready then onto general food. I ended up staying on some of the levels for longer as I wasnt ready for the next stage. Personally, I feel three months of clear liquids and drinks is way too long (just my own opinion) but you should find a good bariatric team and follow their instructions. I really do hope you feel better soon xx

    Clothes

In the sales, discount online shopping stores, ebay.... I did before and I do now. I LOVE my wardrobe of clothes. Kate
  18. As @@Aggiemae said, I would puree some good quality chicken with low fat gravy rather than eating out of a tin/jar. Just my opinion Kate

    Pre Op Shakes

Have you asked your team? Every surgeon has different ideas about the liver diet so best to check with them. Best wishes for the upcoming surgery! Kate
  23. My relationship hasn't changed at all, My husband has been very supportive even in weeks 4 and 5 when I was a bitch from hell (due to hormone changes). Once I was back on HRT I was fine, we were fine and still are.
