  1. I met with four surgeons over the past few months and finally chose who I wanted to do my surgery. It has been booked for a couple of weeks now but today I had all the paperwork through the post and opening it made it feel all so much more real. Having the WLS didn't bother me at all. This is a lot more and I have to admit to being a little (okay a LOT) scared. I am having an extended TT, extended BL and upper/lower eyelid surgery. Later in the year I will be having an inner thigh lift. My last son was 13llb's at birth and I ended up having an emergency section and can remember clearly how I felt walking and Im sure this will be a lot worse. What did you do to prepare? Did you buy anything special to have at home for afterwards? Are there any books you could recommend reading? Any Tips, stories or 'I found this helpful' would be gratefully received!! Kate (shaking in her shoes)
  2. 52llbs in 12 weeks ! Thats amazing

    UK Protein and liquids

@@gryffen Amazon.co.uk (shops sell them but easier and cheaper to buy in boxes of 12).. also Syntrax nectar was great pre and post op (also Amazon). I bought a few and loved the grape so stuck with that. Also take a look at www.myprotein.com. I buy my Protein latte from there and have one or two a day even now. Kate

    Advice pre weight loss

Are you hoping to have WLS on the NHS? Whats your height and starting weight? What are your co-morbidities? How long have you been overweight and how old are you? Kate p:s: Give people time to answer, especially in the UK support group, especially over the holidays
  10. @@sk101 Ouch !! Hope you are feeling better
  11. I have lost over 100llbs and having plastics in January. Im 56 and have had huge babies, have been overweight for a long time and although I think its drastic, the reality is after a year of working hard in the gym, swimming and walking my dog a lot... my tummy is dreadful and my breasts..... well, let just say they are a trip hazzard after taking my bra off. I can't wait. It's tidy up time

TT & BL on November 21!

@@Djmohr My surgery is Monday 9th of January. I am having five procedures done and can stay in hospital a week thank goodness. I woke up last night worrying about it..... I have waited for this for such a long time and now its happening !! I have started watching youtube about the surgery I am having and about how people have felt in their recovery. I am researching what I might need in the first few weeks at home. .....Im totally crapping myself lol. BUT ! Bring it on, I say. I have worked hard with my weight loss. Now its just the 'tidy up time'. We will both be fine. I know it. Will be thinking of you xxx

    UK Protein and liquids

I use Optimum Nutrition Protein powder (mix with Water not milk) and Gatorade Carb Killa Caramel Chaos Bars. Did before surgery and still do now. Yum.
  17. Its worth it even if only one person listens. Oh and worth posting everytime someone posts, 'I ate pizza after 3 days', 'I ate a hog roast on the way home from hospital;, 'I ate 5 packets of chips (crisps in the uk) on day 2 because I couldnt stand another day without chewing anything' types of posts. Thanks to the OP
  18. When I went to see the GP because I had an *accident* outside my home and nearly died of shame. I had a prolapsed womb pressing on my bladder and she mentioned I was pre-diabetic. On top of Hashimoto's disease, very high blood pressure, spinal stenosis (in my neck) and pain all over my body, I didn't want to be diabetic. And here we are today...

    I found the page finally.

@@jadeedie Welcome to the UK boards. Best advice I could pass on is to really research before having the op. What to do pre op, what happens during the op and how to cope after, especially around food. Knowledge is power
