    Super Bowl food/drink

Alcohol.... Nope. Nada. Not a sip. Take your own food or eat before and say you're not hungry or your tummy is upset so you don't want to eat and be sick. That's as near to the truth as you can get. Enjoy

    Do you eat breakfast?

7am: Protein latte - 15g protein 10am (ish) - either left overs from dinner the night before or greek yoghurt/nuts/protein bar or other snack. I can't do without my latte drink now, i love it and it fills me up! Kate

    Hospital length?

I stayed 5 nights, I paid for the surgery myself so could stay up to a week if I wanted.
  12. Adrian, First of all congratulations on your surgery. There is also a UK group here, it's not always busy but it might be an idea to post there too. I am always happy to help if I can! Kate

    Packing

It really depends on how long you are staying in for but the things I took and used were: Change of clothes for going home (baggy dress as I couldnt stand anything round my tummy) Toiletries/hair brush GasX strips Lip balm (dont use Vasaline if you are on oxygen after the surgery!!) Mobile and charger Ipad/kindle and charger Some magazines 3 nightdresses (I stayed in 5 nights) For the drive home, my husband brought a pillow so I could put the seat belt round it. Kate Best wishes for the surgery!!

    Pickle juice

I use to eat a lot of pickles/gherkins prior to the op and craved them afterwards. I ate a small one and urgh.. didn't enjoy it at all and haven't had one since!
  16. After WLS we waited a week. Now im recovering from skin surgery, he has asked me to wait longer (I SO would lol). He's just scared he will hurt me, bless him. Kate
  17. @@LittleLizzieLilliput Your comment made me cry, thank you SO much xx
  18. The surgery was good, I didn't have any issues afterwards, which I was surprised with. I often felt a 'failure' that I didn't really have to try very hard or fight for the weight loss. It just happened. Now when I look back I just think that I was very blessed. What was I disappointed with? My transferance to alcohol for a few months in 2016. A very slippery slope and now I don't drink at all. It was a very dark place for me and I felt I couldnt tell people here because I'd be judged harshly and at that time I wouldn't have been able to cope with that. The funny thing is, even in those dark days, I never broke the 'food' rules and some weeks I continued to lose weight. How has it changed my life? In EVER single area. Best thing I ever did

    Busy days question

Weekly food planning seems to be the new (ish) hot thing right now. Pinterest has lots of info about how to easily achieve this although I prefer to plan daily rather than weekly (Only because hubby can never make his mind up as to what he want for the main meal of the day!!) I always plan my meals the night before, for the next day. Hubby collects what we are having for dinner, in his lunch hour and I sort out my other meals and Snacks. I keep things like Protein bars, baby bel, yogurts, nuts and Jerky at work in case I have to go out of the office at meal/snack times. If I don't eat enough I find I can stall or even put on weight. I don't want to lose anymore but maintainence isnt easy, I am working harder now than I did in the honeymoon period. When you have a good, solid plan, the distractions are not as distracting. When you are following your plan, you can more quickly recover from the setbacks. Your plan keeps you focused and connected with your purpose. Having a plan enables you to build powerful, positive momentum in your efforts. Anything that’s worth doing is also worth the time and effort spent to establish a workable plan. Plan to succeed, and you will. © 2012 Ralph S. Marston, Jr. (allowed to share) Best of Luck !

    Pooping question....sorry!

It does sound as if it's very severe constipation which is backed up by watery poop which then exits like diarrhea. You should contact your PCP as soon as possible for advice. Are you drinking enough Water and eating enough fibre? Do you take any stool softeners? Do you take anything for constipation?

Hi Amanda... I am in the UK too. Where are you having the surgery?
  23. _Kate_

I do NOT want to tell my dad.

Would he need to know anything at all? Once the weight starts falling off just tell him you are watching what you eat (truth) and being careful with carbs and sugar (truth). Good luck!
  24. Thank you ShinyLady I never had bags under my eye pre VSG. I lost a lot of fat from my face, hence the bags. I am really glad I had the eyes done.
