  1. Very sorry you are having to go through this extra hardship. I know you've got to be going stir crazy and ready to bust outa there. Good luck, man. Prayers sent.
  2. Your afterburner jets are running now. Seriously, though, you have your metabolism kicked into gear bigtime now. I think your friend is right......it's coming.
  3. It seems that way. I have zero problems accessing this site from my MacBook or iPhone.........but the iPad goes nuts on here. Halfway through typing a response it will have an error.....refresh automatically and my response is deleted. Many other weird issues. I'm logging into the full site.....not using the app. Perhaps this is the issue??? Full site is fine on my phone and laptop, though.
  4. 5xlt & 4xlt Need that "t" on the end for the exact reason you stated.

    Weight lost over time

Thank you! I feel so much better than I used to. The change has been amazing. I've hit my initial goal of being under 250 (245 as I write this) and am shooting for 215, if possible, to have lost 300lbs. Killer results. You've gotta feel so much better, now !!!!

    Finally Got my Stripes

Good luck, man. I liked the post-op blog. You said it on the TV commercials.......damn HDTV restaurant & beer commercials are driving me nuts. Hope all is going well.

    Shoe Sizes Post Op

Currently wearing 14 wides.......would be nice to go to a 13 regular. Sure would be easier to find them.
  8. I'm quite sure the part in bold is what brought me to this point, too.
  9. This s my biggest fear with this surgery.....having the bypass, not setting a low enough goal to reach and gaining weight back over time. I've got to find a way to stay accountable daily and make ongoing adjustments that will lead to losing and maintaining the weight loss. I don't see what this 21 day fix can offer that you can do for your self. Measure your calorie intake, burn calories doing exercise and being active and use the bypass tool that you had. Spend the money instead on a comfortable pair of gym shoes and begin to wear them out getting your miles in. At the same time it seems wise to get you medical stuff reviewed by your doctor.
  10. I think this decision is going to be made by itself. What am I going to tell folks but the truth ? "Yeah....I was just watching what I've been eating and excercising a little to drop 150 lbs these past few months". Sorry, but I can't read a word of what you posted due to that font.
  11. How often are you exercising ?

    So...a water park happened...

    Well done !!!
  13. The Chuckster did state that this was his 4 year check in. I guess he woke up that day and said," 4 years......hmmmm......let me update everyone over at BP".
  14. I would be willing to bet this has a great deal to do with it.
  15. Awesome ! That's how you OWN it. Doing that exercise will lead to greater discipline in the kitchen, too. Great job. Be careful and keep after it. Consistent daily walks are better for.you than sporadic Herculean efforts that leave you hurting and unable to do anything for a day or two. I learned this the hard way.
  16. Felling some of guilt and failure? Yep. I feel that way at times.....especially when I know that I haven't done everything I could to lose weight. When I cave in to temptations and not stay on track with my plan it pisses me off at myself. Lately, though, this anger has been good fuel to motivate me to stay on track. It has empowered me to leave no stone unturned and to adopt the tool of WLS along with a Disciplined way of eating and consistent exercise program. I would feel miserable if all I did was just sit around and wait for the surgery to come. Working hard now, ahead of time, makes me feel much better about all aspects of myself. I can't afford for this next step not to be successful. I need to improve my health right away.
  17. A sports car, easier time with airline travel, active in hobbies but most of all being more active with my family.

If for no other reason, This is as good as any

Great story, CL.......but an even better state of mind. You are enjoying the positive changes and that's something that I hope to do as well. As far as the "name". I noticed it and I laughed when I did. I sure as hell can use a good laugh during these times, too. A sense of humor is a great asset. I've never been in a forum that has members who seem as easily offended as this one. It's understandable, I suppose. The other forums I post in are more hobby related. Many here are struggling with issues. I prefer the bright outlook demonstrated by the hopeful and enthusiastic. Your opening post took us along on a quick ride into funsville. Awesome stuff. I hope you continInue to have big fun in your new body.
  19. Cool.....I'm not going nuts. Ill remember to save as I go on longer replies. Thanks !!!
  20. We can choose our friends .....but not so much with coworkers. Many of them mean well, but the fact that it's a reoccurring point of conversation is understandably aggravating. They sea visible change occuring and it keeps it in their minds to discuss.
  21. I can understand your debating which way to go with this. Your starting BMI is in the low 30's. For me, at BMI of 58, it will be fairly obvious which way to go with it. Even if I do well and lose 60-70 lbs before the surgery .......the rate of loss after the surgery will accelerate beyond any explanation I could offer. It'll be a while before I get any questions, but I'll be straightforward with my answers. Keeps it simple and peraps it will help someone else in the future.
  22. I'm a few months away from my bypass so I haven't a clue what it's like on that side. I can only guess that perhaps your mind is holding out on you after you've done so much to allow yourself to get thinner....pre-op liquid diet, surgery, healing, post-op liquid diet........now it's rebelling against the act of eating. I don't know....haven't made it that far yet, but I'm sure it's going to be some weird time getting settled in. In many ways I think it was easier, for me, at least, to quit smoking or quit other things. Quitting something altogether has a fianalty about it. Close the book. Learning to eat correctly has been harder for me because it's not something I can close the book on. Have to eat. It's the eating right that is hard. Hope they can help you get things sorted out. its a big change and i wonder if we get the full instruction we need afterwards.
  23. Best of luck to you, Cutwater. I wonder if I go ahead and pack my bag now.....will it make the next 5 months go by faster ?
