Liquid diet starts today
OregonInletBound replied to John Michaels's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I made it through, mine is tomorrow morning. I struggled with the diet until the one week mark and then it just got easy, I don't know why. It gives me great hope for what's to come:) I doubt I'll sleep tonight, nerves...... -

OregonInletBound reacted to a post in a topic: Seriously considering getting sleeved
-
I'm a go on the 11th:) it's taken years to get here. I do wish I could have saved myself ten years ago. I tried but insurance said no. It worked out, now I get the sleeve e instead of bypass, I need my meds to work, bad heart and all.

I quit four years ago with the electronic cigarettes, I was a heavy, heavy smoker. I still use them , nicotine free, now because I always want a cigarette evenore now. -

I met with Mandy the nutritionist at Dr Shroeder's office a couple days ago. She is a dollbaby, just as sweet as she can be, I called her today with a question and before she called me back she checked everything and said I was being submitted in the next couple of days. She didn't have to go to that trouble but she did. There are really wonderful people at that office. She said I should be about six weeks out now.

I saw Mary Wells with Sheltering Arms. I thought because of my back injury she would be a good fit for me and I was terribly wrong. She was cruel and mean and I reported her to the surgeon. No way am I supposed to leave a psychologists office feel g like a lower life form. If she blocks me I'm getting g a second opinion.

Chronic Pain anyone?
OregonInletBound replied to Risa Sloane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Risa, I also suffered from severe endo for most of my life, now I suffer chronic pain from crumbling bones as a direct result of the drugs I took to fight that damn disease. I guess I know as much about endo as anyone, was even sent to Johns Hopkins to meet the best in the country to save my organs long enough to have a baby. I do know that pressure on those adhesions and scar tissue is going to add to the pain, and certainly the back pain should be helped. There is no cure, all my organs are long gone and my bladder and bowel have never recovered but I'm better, now to save my bones. We also have scar tissue that the sugery will have to deal with, I'm praying it's not a problem, I had a bunch of surgeries. I am also on pain med for the broken back, that's why I'm being sleeved, unlike the ruen y, the sleeve alows us to take the meds we need because of better absorbtion. I know you will feel better, I'm counting on me feeling better as well. -

Scared......

Thank you Kris for your very sound feedback and advice. Your success can be a reminder to me that fear does not rule me, but it is a healthy reminder that unless I am totaly commited to this failure could be emminent. Im going to treat this as a grand adventure!!!!! An adventure in new food choices, but mostly in smaller jean sizes and bathing suit shopping, I cant wait!!!!!
