shortgal, Good luck, I am just starting week 5 post-op. I am waiting for my first fill.

Those are the exact symptoms I had when I had my gallbladder attack. I also got pains in my back and at its worst it was across my shoulders. Mine got continually worse and I thought I was having a heart attack, I was rushed to the emergency room. Have it checked out if you can, usually an ultrasound will do the trick. I had mine out May 10, 2007 after they discovered one BIG :omg: stone about 3lbs (I was supose to leave for a Jamaica vacation that day). It's not a bad surgery. I was able to eat that evening and was up and moving around in a couple of days.

Thanks Diane, I love that site, the ideal weight they showed was about what I was thinking for me. I remember when I weighed that and it was pretty good.

I am 38 I live in St. Louis, MO I was banded 12/13/07 Lost 15lbs so far I am married with 5 stepchildren and 4 1/2 grandchildren I am looking forward to onederland.:clap2:

Okay so I saw the doctor, he said I have fluid building up around my port. he said he made a pouch for my port in the muscle and its common for fluid to build up. he said as long as I am not running fever and its not causing too much pain its okay. I just have to keep an eye on it.

Okay so last night my port was tender. I went to the bathroom to wash my face and get ready for bed when I looked inot he mirror my stomache was red in the area where my Port is and it was a little warm. Now the port area has been tender and sensative for a couple of days but what concerns me now is the redness on the skin right over the port. Has anyone experienced this?

I love my infared sauna. Since surgery i ahve not been in it. I wasn't sure if it was safe. I guess I'll be getting in there tonight.

I HATE exercising!!! I work in a building where there is a gym right over my head. All I have to do is walk upstairs. I get so lazy or find other things to do then go up there. it's free and has just about everything except a pool. I do go up on occassion and will walk for about 20-30 minutes but then I am done. I really have to get moving and get off my butt.

OH NO!!!! One time when I was rushed eo the emergency room, for a gall bladder attack (thought it was a heart attack) the nurse asked how much I weighed and I made my husband leave the room before I would tell her. i was in a crisis, but still did not want him to know. Oh well, when I enter onderland I'll tell him.

Mine has Fluid built up around it. The doctor described it by saying he had to make a hole in the muscle so it would eventually be flush with the muscle. the pocket he created is collecting fluid. He said it is normal, as long as I am not runnign a fever. Anyway, the other day when I laid down on the bed it looked like a mountain growing out of my stomache. Mine too is sore it sits right at my wasit band.

I currently have excess Fluid gathering around my port; causing soem swelling, hardness and redness a tthe port site. The Doc told me that it was normal and to keep an eye on it for a few days. I asked about my fill due on Jan 23. He said it should be okay as long as he can feel the port. We will see. Good luck, I agree with Sade, Unless you are very ill, running a fever or something, I would want to try some stronger anitbiotics as well. Keep us posted.

Allheart, I lost 15lbs during my liquid phase but gained 3 lbs when I trasitioned to real food. My doctor said that ws normal, and not to worry just concentrate on healing. I am walking now and it seems to help. I think I have lost the 3lbs but nothing more. So good luck you are not alone.

Try Gas X or Mylocon drops for the gas pain. Also your diagphram was punctured, and the remedial nerve may have been hit, that too causes spasms and pain. It will go away.

I called back and spoke to the main nurse in the office (Sara) she said without a fever, it is more then likely a fluid build up around my port. I have an appointment this afternoon to have him look at it and I'll let you all know.

I called the office and they want to see me tomorrow. The pain has subsided but it is still a little red. After I posted the question I thought why not call the doctor. Thanhks all!

I eat the Weight Control Oatmeal by Quaker. it has protien added and its very filling. I have not had any problems with it I just take small bites.

I take Centrum Silver, I'm not silver yet but it has more of the necesary vitamins my doctor recommended. And they come in a chewable form. They are not bad.

I used to shve my tummy too. I had a TT before the LapBand and yes it took the hair away. No more Hairy tummy for me. YIPE!!!!

Apple things will work out. I don't know why they wanted your Endo to consult. Weight loss is one of the best things for PCOS and your Gyno should recognize it too. That is one of the reasons I had it done. Now I have to make sure I don't get pregnant. That would be a b*&%@h. Good luck.

Before any of you think about a reversal because you have second thoughts. First think about why you had the surgery in the first place. I had it because I was tired of all the weight and I want to be healthier. I mena if it becomes imbearable or a helath risk then I might think about it. But trust me it does get better. Also the 2oz and no whatever is only a guideline. My daughter has had hers since April and she still eat what she wants and more then 2oz. She has lost in excess of 75lbs. So everyone is different. Just remember why you did it in the first place.

I paid 14,800.00 total for everything. $10,000 for the surgery center, 3800 for the doctor, and $1000 for all my follow visits and fills.

Mine is next to my belly button onthe right. I am a police officer and have to wear a utility belt. OUCH!.. my doc won't let me wear my belt for another month. So, I'm on desk duty.

OMG the sliming happened to me the other day. I was told I could eat crackers. Well I must have been very hungry, and did not chew. Oh the pain. It got stuck and I tried to swallow but it felt like nothing would go down not even saliva. So the saliva started coming out. I kept trying to swallow and sip water to pass it. It eventually passed and beleive me I felt it pass.

:help: I have surgery on Dec. 13. I initially lost 15 lbs, on the liquid diet. now I am going through the diet phases and have pretty much eaten what I want just in smaller portions. there are a few things I can't eat like bread, I tried it and it got stuck WOW :omg:. Anyway, my doctor had me watch some videos peridically through Emmi, which has a series on Lapband, they are informative videos, that walk you through the process and tell you what to expect next. Now they say gaineing weight in the first few weeks after surgery is normal. but I see so many people on here losing weight. Once I started adding solids back to my diet, I started gaining. I was just cleared to work out. I am cleared to walk right now, and have done it once. I am heading to the gym now to walk, because its cold outside. Has anyone else experienced this or am I doing somethign wrong.
