Did I mention that if you use the Fat Free Coolwhip this recipe is virually Fat Free!
-
I don't think its important at all, my office is very open and we discuss a lot of things that could not be discussed in an open forum. Its just when I mention it, they say yeah I've noticed but was afraid to say anything just in case you didn't. We are a very close group (Family) I'm a police officer. We spend countless hours with each other and we notice the small things because our lives depend knowing and picking up on the littlest things. Maybe my first message was not worded properly. They are fearful to say anything out of fear of offending. I informed them that most compliments are not offensive. My family and close friend see me everyday and don't see the small cahnges. So they only notice when I change the normal way I dress or something like that. I was just soliciting opinions on why men would be so afraid to pay a woman a compliment. Now that I have informed a few that it is okay and flattering they are complimenting all of us.

I mean like clothes hanging off noticable. I wear a uniform everday and I am waiting to get new ones until I am at a point they are falling off of me so I won't have to get new ones again shrotly there after. I look like a kid wearing my dads cloths. It's that noticable.

Everyone: list 3 POSITIVE things about the Lap Band!
Ann D replied to cb11213's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. Feeling full & satifisfied with a meal for the first time 2. Coming off all my High Blood Pressure medicine 3. Buying new skinny clothes. -
Marshmallow cream is a dessert topping mainly used in ice cream sundaes. It can be found in or near the ice cream section by the ice cream cones and other toppings. I know Coolwhip is not the healthiest thing but the dip is so light and refreshing.

Vegas Vacation & Lapband???
Ann D replied to Ann D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay so now I am torn, Stay filled or Unfill?????? What to do! What to do! I want to have fun which I will; filled or not, But I want to eat. We have many friends in Vegas, one couple is Chinese and always takes us for authentic chinese food. The food is fantasitc. I want to be able to eat. But I don't want to over do it, and gain weight. What to do! What to do! I'll call the doctors office and see what the head nurse thinks, she is really cool about this. -
The constipation comes from the pain meds and also the fat that you really ahve nothad that much to eat since surgery so there is not much to come out. Also those abdominal pains will get better. The port area is the worst site. I also found out that some doctors will cut a pouch into the muscle and secure the pouch that way. That would account for all that pain. When you cut a muscle is causes it to spasm (very painful).

Vegas Vacation & Lapband???
Ann D replied to Ann D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor charges $100 per fill or unfill. Unless the unfill is due to complications from the last fill, which I had last month. Charges vary by doctor -
bluebike, Thanks for the reply, I'll try and get on Youtube when I get home from work. Most of our webaccess has been blocked due to some moron viewing and posting inappropriate things.

Okay so I previously posted about going to Vegas soon. I called my doctors office and he said that when you fly the liquid in the band may expand some and that i might have a little more tightness during and shortly after flying. I was told to eat very light and a least an hour before my flight. Then sip Water throughout the flight unless I get too tight then wait until I land and usually within an hour it should be back to normal. I just wanted to pass this information on to you all.

Vegas Vacation & Lapband???

Wow, Thank you to both of you. Lanie if i can avoid sliming and vomiting in public that would be wonderful. I've only done it twice in 6 months at work, but no one was around thank god. Texasfire - We have several shows on our list that we want to see and I think that is one of them. We are also trying to get ticket sot Robin Williams; I hope we succeed, he is hilarious. -
Congratulations to you all. Welcome to our world. A lot of times the sounds your stomach is making is just gas sounds if you are hungry eat somehting very slowly to see how you feel. I mean drink something. I am almost 6 months out and I still get a lot of gas sounds in my stomach. Yes it's a little embarassing but normal according to my doctor. If your gas becomes painful try the Gas X chewable tablets and walk; moving around usually helps. As for the Port that takes a lot longer to heal, they attach it to your muscle, so there is alot of pulling. Mine still hurts on occasion if I move wrong. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

gardengrl, My doctor only has you sign in with your first name and it's on a sticker and as soon as they pull your file, they peel the sticker off the board that had your name on it and throw it away.

Hi all, I am so glad I found this posting site. I am a slow loser and thought I was alone. Thank goodness for this psoting. I had surgery 12/13/07 I weighed 248, as of 5/6/08 I am 228. I am only down 20lbs. I see people that have 5 monthout and are down 50+ lbs. How depressing. I know I am losing but I thought it would be faster. My stepdaughter lost 75lbs in 5 months. I just need to knuckle down and workout more. My exercise leaves a lot to be desired. I think I have reached my sweet spot. I am at 6cc's I think I'll stay here for a while since I have good restrictions and anymore may shut me down. Again I'm glad I found you all.
-
Wow, I could have written anyone of those posts. At first even after my first two fills I had little restrictions and could eat virutally anything. Then I got to 5 cc's and had major restrictions. Slimming has occured more times then I would like. So back to the doctor I went I had 1/2 cc removed; felt great, ate better; however, lost nothing that month. This month I had the 1/2 cc put back in. I am at 6cc's now. I still have a lot of restirctions and like you I can eat one thing one day and not the next. I used to eat Breakfast all the time but I am now resolved to not eating it anymore. It just won't go down. someone suggested swelling like when you can't get your rings on. I don't know if its relavant. Anyway I wat a lot of noodles and try to remember to chew really well. I forget sometimes or eat too fast; then I get stuck. So what to do????? take some Fluid out of my band and not lose or live with the restrictions and slime on occasion. Usually once a day.

I marked "No because my doctor said so" but in reality, I just can't drink it anymore. It causes too much gas and I get a real full feeling that is uncomfortable.

Hi all, I have only told a handful of people. My mom told her side of the family, against my wishes. Oh well they never liked me anyway. I don't care. I've told my sisters and sister in law who is also interested in it and my step-daughter had the surgery as well so she knows. As for work only a few very close people know. I had to tell a couple of them due to the work I do, someone has to know just in case. Fortunately I had my gallbladder out a few months before I got the lapband so I blame my eating habits on that. No one questions me.

Does anyone else have problems eating leftovers?? I have problems with leftover meats. chicken, beef, pork, etc. I can eat it fresh without any problems and regardless of how I reheat it I can not get it down and PB. Just a question, any thoughts...

weird slightly gross question
Ann D replied to MaidMarion's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
usually by waist size 34, 38, 40 etc. They have some pretty big sizes trust me I wore them. IF they don't have them they can order them. I've also seen them in a few cataloges -
I've even tried reheating them in Water or some type of liquid. Like chicken broth for a baked chicken breast. Go figure

Spanx & Lipo in a box are okay but if you just want something for your tummy without a panty or anything like that; I bought a "waist sincher" from Macy's, (or any large department store with a lingery department.) I bought mine a size smaller to support my back and hold in my panni. I am a police officer and my duty belt really effected my back. That waist sincher helped tremdously. It goes around your middle and has a hook and eye front closure, it also has the bones in it for extra support. Good luck -
I had that for a while and could nto burp. The doc told me I would not be able to burp for a while. Well now I can burp like carzy. Anyway, have you tried drinking something Hot like Tea or coffee? When I get that stuck feeling that usually helps.
