HUNGER - is it really reduced?
jeanniereenie replied to bhopeful's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost 5 weeks out and I don't really experience hunger and if I do I am probably mistaking it for gas pain and so I just drink some Water and move on...I do have to remind myself that I should be eating so I try to every few hours.. so to answer the question I think its different for everyone, but yes I did lose my "hunger feeling" -
i am 4 and a half weeks out and can barely hit 500, i hit 600 sometimes with Protein shakes though. i have my 5 week appnt next week and in my book it says 600-800 by then... ask your nutritionist..if you are still losing its all good

Stay away from the scale!
jeanniereenie replied to leag78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
hubby took my scale away on week one, he said no more obsessing over a NUMBER...my clothes are looser and im able to run farther at the gym, so weighing once a month with my trainer is working for me... once you get out of your own head it gets easier (or did for me) -
Cigna Approval
jeanniereenie replied to kbmerritt84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i wouldnt worry, unless your surgeon has said to you that may happen (surgery being cancelled over a gain) i would just relax i think my weight went up a few times during my counseling period... you will do great and congrats! -
i luckily was allowed to have caffeine in the form of tea, so i never really had to give it up, but the good thing is once its gone out of your brain its gone! you can do it!

2 week follow up appointment-feeling low
jeanniereenie replied to MsTodd's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Speaking for myself I only lost 15 lbs in the two weeks after, but was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks after as well. slow and steady wins the race, you admit to eating more than you should? are you not feeling sick after? I know its a big mental game for me sometimes ... -
couldnt have said it better myself... nothing like a great burger! even if i can have only 2 bites, i make them the good ones lol

i went back right at 2 weeks and felt ok, my job doesnt require a lot of physical activity, i did start the gym back up on day 15. overall i was pretty much healed and felt great. listen to your body and do what you need to do.. you are the one that knows you best!

jeanniereenie replied to flipper72's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
congrats on taking your first steps! i know you can search forums for people with a certain amount of pounds to lose if you are looking for someone to share your journey with welcome! -
Protein got really really hard for me too, i had to buy the unflavored one and just add it to things, like my yogurt, that helps a lot! now i can get it all in without having to fill myself to the gills!

5wk post-op no loss for 3wks
jeanniereenie replied to sandyhoney68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i hit a stall right at 3 weeks, tomorrow will be 4 weeks for me and the scale dropped two pounds this morning. i had to start eating more for sure to get it to drop, pushing those meals was hard for me also i increased my gym time. and more protein! ended up getting the unflavored unjury and added it to my yogurt i think it helped! just be patient! your sleeve will work just give your body time to adjust! -
just because our stomachs cant hold that doesnt meant its gross... , i would try to eat it back in the day! who are we kidding we all enjoyed food at some point or we wouldnt be on here! i say yolo! my husband eats what he wants and is happy with it, i have never blamed society for my weight..i put all that food in there i told myself i would never become a "judgmental foodie" and thats why i say ..let them eat cake! (or giant burgers)

i find it hard to not look at the food at restaurants and make that face..you know the one that says why in the world (or HOW) did I ever eat that much! its hard to not say something to my husband when he says he is so full he feels sick, I tell him to learn his signals, I don't want him to go down this road that got out of control for me! plus side, he says im a cheap date now

Last day of Pre- op diet
jeanniereenie replied to JosieAppleHead's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
its almost over! my husband hasnt changed one bit and i wouldnt have it any other way, i dont think everyone around me has to change or adjust to make me feel better...i even cooked for him quite a bit on my preop, making enchiladas, grilling chicken and making a steak for him...i am on mushy foods now and i make his dinner then blend mine down to join him. you will do great! just keep on trucking! for me the preop diet was the hardest part -

Another "I told some people at work and some friends" thread :-)
jeanniereenie replied to no onions's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i only chose to tell a few people at work, the ones that needed to be in the loop basically until the day before surgery, then i told people around me what was going on, and they were (with the exception of a few) very happy for me and supportive, i did however notice that now that i am back, everyone is on a diet lol they seem to be very aware of what im eating and not eating! some of them having to leave the room when i eat my pureed spinach my family knew about it and were supportive as well... i have learned about those that had an opinion or didnt support me, had their own issues, it had nothing to do with me -
My husband has been behind me 100% , he didnt go to my appointments but was there when i needed him to hold my hand, he is also a nurse so i had his knowledge on my side when it came to healing. we also knew the nurses that cared for me which made me feel very comfortable. he does all he can to help me, he also knows this journey is mine and ours, not just about him or me as individuals, i have cried more than once about this decision and he holds me and reassures me. he met me at my highest weight and does also help me Celebrate every loss, but he did take the scale away

i use the log and tracker on Fitbit.com , its easier for me and it does keep good track most of the time.
