Last weight management class
jeanniereenie replied to scarlep's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it just depends on your insurance , and how they work it. I had to do 6 months of counseling, then after labs my surgery was 2 days later. took about 6 and a half months for me, but def once the labs were done I had a date by then... good luck and congrats! -
Help needed in Arizona
jeanniereenie replied to sunshinetinaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
maybe you should contact your surgical team or even visit the ER if the pain doesnt stop , it cant hurt to get checked out. and i got the gurgling and burning at first too it does get better. pain is always different for everyone, and so is pain tolerance, i had moderate pain some days and was so sore the next i couldnt hardly move, just relax and take it easy and again it never hurts to go get checked out. better safe than sorry -

Trouble with lack of hunger! Protein overload!
jeanniereenie replied to VDB's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i was told to stop with the Protein shakes and i am having a horrible time making the protein requirement and we dont even want to talk about my energy levels @@James Marusek how are you eating all your protein or rather what are you eating? sorry to @ for taking over this post for a brief second lol -
i couldnt afford a membership for a long time either, but now at work i can get a discounted rate. remember not to push yourself too hard, i was doing kickboxing before and am just now able to have enough energy to do about 3 miles, the lack of calories really take a toll on me. look for a used treadmill or something for your home... good luck and congrats on your surgery date!
-
good luck to both of you! I had to do 6 months of therapy/counseling and it seemed like it took forever! but now I am 5 weeks out and it feels like yesterday! my advice is to have all of your questions written down, I kept forgetting and my ocd brain couldn't handle it you have a team of us behind you!

I might be freaking out but....
jeanniereenie replied to xxjosettexx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6 days out your body is still changing, I even hit a stall at day 10 or so, be ready for the first month to be a lot of up and downs or not moving at all...I just hit week 5 and am just now starting to lose again. my dr prepared me for a realistic expectation of about 2-4 lbs a week, I have mentioned in other posts my sweet husband took my scale away the first week, maybe you should do that too. I weigh maybe once a week, but def judge my new life on how I feel! you will feel better and have more and more energy..day 6 is just the beginning..congrats on starting your journey! -
we have all done this! I am at week 5 and after about week four I dropped 5 lbs like boom! week one my hubby removed all scales from our house...I weigh once a week at the gym, and I even sometimes forget to do that ... BURN THAT SCALE!! go by how you feel and the old jeans that fit (they really did!) and not by a number...being overweight I have always obsessed over that number...now im glad that the scale is moving as slow as it needs to be...and I can wear those sassy jeans and I am sticking with it.... you will get past this stall and be more awesome next week!
-
I used to be like that then one day I just didn't care...most people at the gym aren't looking at you as much as you think they are..and if they are who knows what they are thinking! I was watching someone train the other day and all I was thinking about was how much fun the boxing looked...get out of your own head and do for you!

Got all my protein in today
jeanniereenie replied to TheOnlyDuchess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i am on week 5 and was told no more Protein shakes to get food protein and its hard for me! i also did Premiere and always felt full, but then i dont really feel hungry either... i was told guacamole was a no no...I am pretty sure my nutritionist is too strict -
good luck with your surgery! everyones experience is different so here is hoping yours is a comfy one
-
sounds just like my experience, i was so worked up and prepared and all i cared about was my jammies and sleeping. lol
-
i packed a bag and used NONE of it...i walked out in my jammies but didnt care about anything else... also with the Gas X my surgeon told me that strips didnt help with that air, because its "third space" air and not actually all in your stomach, i tried it anyway and he was right lol i still have a full box at home good luck!

Am I really that vain?
jeanniereenie replied to Sylvia13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
as long as you feel better then forget what other people see, sometimes people dont notice because they never honestly noticed that i was that overweight, even though i was at my biggest..and as far as "how many pounds have you lost?" tell them just enough to feel sassy and walk away with a grin...keep them guessing... i dont weigh myself except for once every couple weeks at the gym, my husband allows no weighing! and my clothes are def falling off..but can go from big to sloppy quick in my job, so going for new pants soon.. congrats on the loss, i am 5 weeks out as well.... all that matters is that YOU FEEL GREAT and you did something that for me was the hardest thing since losing my Dad to do.... be proud! -
"I fit into it!" Clothing milestone!
jeanniereenie replied to VDB's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions

No Birth Control 30 days prior to surgery? What? Why?
jeanniereenie replied to AvalonNeeCee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i also had that restriction and that is exactly what my surgeon said, it increases blod clot risk a lot! and i know with my surgery my hormones went wacky anyway! good luck with your surgery! -
Feeling very depressed
jeanniereenie replied to cuchas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not able to advance into diet stages either until my consults, do what your surgery team tells you to do, its for your own good. i cried a lot my first week i was miserable with emotions...its normal as hard as it seems it does get so much better! you start to feel like yourself again in only a couple of weeks. and you really have no choice, you have to keep doing it, but you have a ton of support here and like everyone has said REACH OUT to your dr and surgery team... -
Feeling good about my weigh in at the Drs Office..celebrate every small change!
