Hi guys, I was banded 12.06.15, and I'm looking for a band buddy, I'm from the UK, not bothered where my buddy or buddies are from, just looking to connect. ????????
-
This was supposed to go in the ladies only section but it wouldn't let me post for some reason, but I guess this applies to men aswell ???? So I've been banded for 3 months and I'm down 45lbs, I can notice some weight loss mainly on my face and legs, but what I really want to know is will I lose weight on my vagina area? The flabby pubis area, So far I can't see no difference and I'm just imagining that I'm going to lose weight and still have a flabby vagi. So help me out ladies, tell me your experiences. ????
-
Oh my god I'm dying here
-
Had this discussion with some friends over the weekend, most of the guys said they don't care if they get a "flabby patty" it all does the same job ???????? where's as one described an intimate experience with a larger lady as mounting a moist chewbaca...literally spat my drink all over him ????????????
-
Tummy Tuck is definitely going on my list lol
-
@@Tssiemer1 ooooh right gotcha lol ...."fleshy" ????????????
-
@@Victoria Mora, I've noticed that since losing weight I don't have to buy wide fit shoes anymore, but I've never heard of people's feet actually going up a couple of sizes lol I've been a size 8 (uk) since I was 14.
-
@@Tssiemer1 how can the fat make you "tight"? How does that work? Sorry for the invasive questions just trying to understand what you mean lol
-
@@Tssiemer1 No, no loose skin as of yet thankfully and I'm hoping not to get any either ????
-
@@OKCPirate I thought Kegel exercises were just to tighten the muscles inside the vagina?
-
@@Babbs could you actually imagine a band with that name ???????? So I guess I can look forward to some sort of shrinkage in my nether regions lol

I got very drunk last night and today I am dying from the worst hangover ever! I need to puke but just seem to be dry heaving and nothing is coming up, is there anyway I could be sick? Would I do any damage to the band? I just feel so terrible and that usually makes me feel a bit better. Any advice would be a god send right now. X

How do you deal with head hunger?
WoodenHearts replied to WoodenHearts's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks so much for replying guys, it definitely makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone in this, it's always a constant battle, or as I like to call it 'the hunger games' lol. -
Banded 6.12.15 Hi guys I recently had my second fill, up until that point I didn't really feel much restriction, I was hungry all the time and making really bad choices, but I was determined to try and stay on track and so far it hasn't been too bad. I'm a stay at home mum so usually food is readily available for me to pick at, I went away for the weekend with friends and it had been such a busy day and when it came to dinner all my friends were starving but I noticed that I didn't even feel that hungry, so I tested myself over the next few days and realised that at every meal time there was no hunger pangs, no grumbling tummy that's desperate for food, there was something that wanted me to eat and it was my head, it's like a little voice in my head that constantly tests me, sometimes I feel like it controls me and I make excuses to try and justify my eating, but if I sit and block this voice out I find that I'm not hungry what so ever and that I just need to get my Protein in and that'll do me, but in other occasions I will give in, it's a constant battle, one I've not learned to win yet.

Hi Question(s) from UK bander to be.
WoodenHearts replied to EWom75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
EWom75, so far I've lost around a stone but that's including my pre op diet, it has been a big learning curve for me and I think I went into it quite naively, I thought that I would be banded, follow the post op diet and be on my merry way to seeing the lb's drop off, but that didn't really happen, 3-4 days after I was banded my appetite was definitely back 100% almost like there was no restriction at all, and since you don't get your first fill for 5-6 weeks you do literally have to be on a diet and it's always the bad foods and the alcohol that go down the easiest lol, after my first fill I still didn't feel like there was much restriction, I had my second fill yesterday and I definitely think I might be on my way to the much talked about 'green zone' lol, I don't feel hungry and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks to see if I starting shifting these pounds ???? Hi Question(s) from UK bander to be.
WoodenHearts replied to EWom75's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Tia ???? I'm also from the UK I live in London, I had my GB done on June 12th 2015 and I also had it done privately through the hospital group, so far I haven't had any problems with them what so ever, I found the staff really helpful and answered any questions I had (I had a lot) I felt confident with the surgeon I met and was really excited to get things going. You have to do the pre op diet for 2 weeks before your surgery to shrink your liver, don't panic it's not all a liquid diet which I was so grateful for btw lol they give you 3 options, you can do all liquids, you can do all food but you have to stick to the strict list they give and you have to weigh everything out, or you can do a mixture of the 2 which is what I done, I would have a slim fast for Breakfast and lunch then have a high Protein low carb dinner, the first few days were hard but if you make it part of your routine I found it so much easier. I'm not 100% but I think you have to wait at least 6 weeks before you can fly to give everything a chance to heal and got swelling to go down. If you've got anymore questions let me know ???? To tell or not to tell...
WoodenHearts replied to Sajijoma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a tough decision to make but in the end it's your decision, I had a tough time deciding wether to tell certain people and I decided that it's my private business and if I want to include them I will, you've taken the step to consider WLS after I can only assume like most of us lots of tried and failed diets. I had lots of lectures from the people I told about certain diets I could try and the eat less and move more approach, which I'm sure you've heard a million times, yes we all know what a diet is and how to do one, It it's the sticking to it which is the problem, and I've repeated to my friends a million times...you're not fat you don't understand lol. ANYWAY! Getting back on track....if you feel like it's going to cause some drama by you not telling them, then maybe tell them but make it clear that you've decided to go down this path and are just informing them of your decision....or just don't tell them it's your life hunny! You're a woman who can make her own decisions and it sounds like your already on your way to making a big one, you decide who knows and you decide what you want to tell them when the weight starts coming off, don't worry about them worry about you!! Hope everything works out for you ???? Keep us posted XXX -
So I had my first fill today, I had 4.5ml put into a 10ml band, the nurse said I should sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes and drink 2 cups of Water before I leave to make sure everything is ok, so I start to drink the water and can instantly feel that it's not going down smoothly, had to go back in and had 1ml removed, but now I feel like I've hardly got any restriction at all, I'm so surprised at how much difference that 1ml made and now feel that I'll be waiting another few weeks before I see any significant weight loss ????. Anyone think I'll be able to take more of a fill in a few weeks?

hey guys, so im almost 4 weeks post op, feeling a bit dissapointed that ive only lost 7lbs, definetly thought i would of lost more. also, after i eat i feel like my band gets tight, if i just touch my stomach i can feel the band under my skin and it feels quite hard/tight, its not painful but just wandering if this is normal. has anyone else experienced this? thanks

hey guys im almost 4 weeks post op and my hunger has not weaned what so ever, im constantly in a battle with myself to make better choices, i always start the day with the best intentions but they seem to be forgotten as quickly as i spot something yummy, although im not eating as much as i was pre op my head still seems to think that i can then i end up getting food stuck and im reminded that my old habits need to change. i never knew what 'slider' foods were up until 2 weeks ago and i now consider them to be devils in disguise lol, its like a little voice in the back of m head tells me 'go ahead eat the chocolate mousse you know it'll go down easy' then before i know it i'm 3 mousses down and feel terrible, but i tell myself tomorrow is a new day to make better choices and the cycle just keeps going round and round like im literally playing a game with my head and my stomach, my stomach will say 'you're not that hungry maybe something small' where as my head is like ' you can definetly squeeze a double cheeseburger and fries in there' only problem is when i listen to my head i end up not being able to eat the cravings i want because they wont go down (bread and fries get stuck) which leaves my frustrations high, i have to laugh about it really because i feel like im going insane sometimes. i didn't tell a lot of people about my surgery only a few close family members whom i speak to everyday, but every time i speak to them its always the same questions, have you lost any weight? how much are u eating? how are u still able to eat that much food?, i feel like they expected me to have the surgery and id drop 50lbs just like that, ive tried to explain but they just don't seem to get it so i find myself lying to them just to satisfy there questions, i know that i shouldn't but when they keep asking me i find that im also asking myself those questions, why aren't i losing weight? why can i still eat X amount of food? i haven't had my first fill yet and im hoping this will give me enough restriction to continue with a steady weight loss. so far since surgery ive only lost about 5lbs, most of my weight loss comes from the pre op diet. thanks for reading my rant lol, anyone else experiencing 'hunger games' let me know below

Hey guys, I'm 1 week post op and I'm just starting to sleep comfortably, but every time I lay on my back I get this weird sensation in my stomach that is sometimes painful, it feels like my stomach is moving around, it stops when I lay back on my side. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
-
So I'm 5 days post op and feeling ok, a bit sore around incisions a really bad wind pain but other than that I'm not bad. I'm struggling to stick to the liquid diet and have had a few puréed/ sloppy foods, only small bits to test the waters and they seem to have gone down fine, I only have 2 small mouthfuls then I'm full but will I have done any damage? The thought of looking at another Soup or shake fills me with dread. Anyone else had similar problems? Do you think I'd be ok to continue?

@@CarolinaGirl you're so right! What am I doing? I waited years for this opportunity and now that I have it im just leading myself down the wrong path, it's hard to break a habit of a lifetime but I need to try it or I'll just stay fat and miserable forever. Thank you for replying <3

Hi guys, So I'm 2 days post op and to say I'm a little sore is an understatement, it's not just that my abdomen aches every time I move, it's this unbelievable gas pain that just won't budge, I feel like it's taking over my whole body and when I feel in my chest that I need burp I try to bring it up but it just doesn't come! I'm so bloated it's unreal, I've tried drinking gripe Water which helps move it along but it just doesn't come out! Walking also helps move it around but still nothing comes out! I'm so uncomfortable. Also nobody told me before surgery that I would have to inject myself! Wth! Luckily my partner doesn't mind because there is no way I could do that myself, the thought alone makes me feel queasy. The calories I've consumed in the last 2 days amount to 3 cup o Soups and 3 ice poles which I'm sure isn't enough to keep me going, so my questions are, How do I help relieve this gas pain? What else can I eat/drink to help me consume a few more calories? Thanks guys ????

@@Bandista thanks so much for your insight, the last few weeks have taught me a lot about myself, I can say no to food and I don't need to run to the snack cupboard every time I have a bad day as tomorrow is always a new one. Im full of nerves at the moment and just want it over and done with so I can start my journey. I don't doubt that the next few months will be challenging and there will be times when I want to raid the snack cupboard but in ready to take that all in my stride. Will be updating as I go along
