Premier Protein Shakes New Flavor!
padremama replied to nicksmommy's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Been waiting for a post that I can comment about Premier shakes. I now try to find the highest Protein Cereal I can find and pour my vanilla shake over it. It sweetens the cereal and is so good. Also trying to figure out a recipe using riced cauliflower and vanilla shake for rice pudding. I made quinoa type pudding using the shake that was ok, not great. Maybe some of you that are better cooks than I am can come up with something. -
Weird s**t your body does (or "I know I ate too much, I need to sneeze.."
padremama replied to KindaFamiliar's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I'm so glad you started this topic. I finally figured out the sneezing was after I ate. watery eyes, sniffling, the whole thing. Thought it was allergies. Haven't read all the posts yet. But thanks. -
Buy Hyacinths

I can not go to trader joes without buying flowers. And I have more money to buy them with, not spending so much on food. -
What can I do with...cauliflower?
padremama replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I love the cauliflower rice from Trader Joes. I think the secret is to really brown it. The more brown the more like rice. This week I am going to try rice pudding with it. I just tried Quinoa pudding but it just tasted like oatmeal. I also make the rice with my Ninja. Just break cauliflower into florets and pulse. I know I'm repeating what is above but it really is good. -
I agree on the blueberry goat cheese, can't really even call it a cheese. I found a new goat cheese called "purple haze" that is so good. We get it in a restaurant on a cheese and salami plate. That is the one we fight over. The only brie I like is Triple Cream.

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all
padremama replied to Adina's_Journey's topic in The Gals' Room
I love this site! A rainy day in san diego and nothing to do and got to read 5 pages on this subject. I was not asked and did not shave and had a catheter. 66 and never shaved in my life so that would of been fun. But luckily I have so little body hair anywhere that they might not of noticed. Good luck! -

Has anyone used Quest protein powder? Also I did not like the blueberry pancakes from the bariatric store so this might be a matter of taste. -

Bad to Good: What Is Your Best Recipe Swap?
padremama replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
One of my favorite is cauliflower rice. I bought it at Trader Joe's at first then made my own in a Ninja. Just pulse. After I brown it I add an egg and some soy sauce or Bragg's liquid aminos to make fried rice. -
How much ounces do you eat after 1 year?
padremama replied to Hagar.vsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved in May and I am eating less and less. Before I thought the operation didn't work and as of the beginning of December that changed. Now I can hardly eat 3 ounces. -
Update/stupid decisions/ what should I do?
padremama replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been doing the same thing. And I live alone so I have no one to answer to but myself. I have heard when you have surgery some people trade one addiction for another. I really have had too many addictions and don't need them back. -
Unjury, blech - I believed you guys!
padremama replied to songsmith's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
CAREFUL!!! The Bolthouse Farms ones are super high in carbs. The vanilla one has 29g carbs (28g sugar) and only 16g of Protein in 200 calories and that's for 8 fl oz. The bottles are almost 16oz so that's 400 calories, 56g sugar and 32g protein if you drink the whole bottle. ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1448598558.651443.jpg Thanks!! Sometimes I just forget to read all the info. I already threw the bottle away. -

an old weight watchers favorite that I still do on Thanksgiving. 2 small pkgs instant sugar free pudding. pumpkin pie spices 1 1/2 c. milk 1 small can pumpkin 1 cool whip fat free Mix all ingredients except cool whip and stir well. Fold in Cool whip and put in fridge for at least one hour. It really gives you that pumpkin pie taste. -
HELP! (No, it's not really THAT dramatic????)
padremama replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How about some sugar free pudding. I make the sugar free instant and add protein powder to it. The nectar vanilla bean. Then after it's set instead of cool whip free I add nonfat plain greek yogurt. It is my sweet tooth fix. I like the lemon. -
May Sleevers...where are you?
padremama replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doing good also. Have lost 42 pounds which is slow but I'm happy with it. No problems at all. Did have my first gas pains the other day that felt like labor. but that is all. -
I was sleeved last May at the age of 65. When I first asked Doctor about it, she said I was not overweight enough,, and I told her to look again. I was 100 pounds overweight. So the first thing would to find out if you qualify for insurance. Other than that, I am extremely happy with my decision. Losing slowly which I find the older I get the slower I lose, but still losing! As many others have said, I wish I would of done this years ago, but never too late. Good luck.

Specific nutrients needed to sustain healthy life after surgery
padremama replied to Dallas Powell's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I take a liquid vitamin "balanced essentials". And a separate calcium and d. I can not take Iron so it doesn't include that. My test results are better than they have ever been. I asked for a "b12" shot at dr's last week and she said I didn't need one.
