    I hate my neck

My neck has this blob of skin hanging and I just hate it. It looks like a balloon that has deflated. I look at before and after pics of others and think their necks look great. I use a cream (minimal help) and I've started neck exercises. First thing I plan on once I'm done losing weight is get a neck lift! But I'm very happy to be losing weight and surgery can solve the neck problem in the end. Does anyone else hate their neck?

    Chewing and chewing and chewing.....

I'm post op and I never was very good at the chewing thing. I tried and I just don't have the patience for it. So I pretty much eat like I always have, just a little too fast and I've never had any consequences for eating this way. But I do have the sleeve so I'm sure that helps.

    Extreme Fatigue

I was exhausted and thought I would never feel my energy return. I would shower, rest, dress, rest, dry hair, rest. I napped a lot and couldn't clean the house. Then after two months everything went back to normal. ???? I cleaned the house today and noticed how much easier it is for me to do it even compared to pre surgery.

What have I done to myself?

I was on BP meds and was soon taken off the meds. I still get dizzy and I just stop, put my head down until it passes. It mostly happens when I stand up. The body is adjusting to the weight loss. I agree that staying away from the scale is a good idea if it makes you feel bad about yourself. You will see results in time.

    What Is Your Thanksgiving Workout?

I'm planning on hiking up a mountain trail near my home (I live in a warm climate). The last time I hiked this trail was 25 years ago so I'm really nervous I won't make it. I've been climbing a smaller hill for the last month and a half in preparation and I thought Thanksgiving Day will be the perfect day to try. I promise not to kill myself! ????

    Hair falling out!

I've lost a lot of hair. It started at 3.5 months and has been heavy losses months 5 and 6. I use nioxin shampoo and conditioner, biotin and get plenty of protein and I don't think anything I do makes a difference. Some people just lose a lot of hair. I sure hope it slows soon as it is getting very thin. But that said, I don't care about this too much because if this the price that has to be paid to lose the weight, then so be it. Not a deal breaker.
  8. I'm planning on starting the day with a special hike and I am so thankful I'm healthy enough to even make the trek. ????????????

    Quest Bar

I love quest bars and I eat one every day. I count the net carbs and the nutritionist agreed on handling it this way. It's on my program's list of approved protein bars. I've been eating them for over four months now. I had surgery six and 1/2 months ago and I have never had a stall, not even the dreaded 3 week stall. I think I'm like the tortoise and not the hare - slow and steady is my race.

    New Milestone !

Congratulations! I love Old Navy too. I wait for the jeans to go on 50% off then buy a pair that fits and then the next size down in preparation for more weight loss. At $15 dollars a pair, it's a smoking deal.

    I hate my neck

Hmmm - you give me hope, I worry because I'm post menopause and I don't know how much elasticity I have at this point. I guess I just need to give it some time and see.

    Addicted to BP

There is some negativity on this site and I usually try to scoot right past that, but mostly I feel inspired by the majority of the comments and really enjoy coming here for the most part. ????

    stop the food funerals

I guess the good news for me is that didn't even look remotely appetizing ????. Funny how things can change after surgery.
  15. I would call the office right away. I think this violates HIPPA rules but I'm not sure. But it is decidedly NOT cool. I would be as upset as you are.
  16. I was exhausted the first two months and worried that I would never feel like my old self again and then the tide turned and my energy returned. It just takes some time to heal and for the body and mind to adjust to the changes. ????

    Thanksgiving and you

I plan on eating whatever I want for this one meal (except no roll since bread just sits in my stomach like a lump of indigestible goo since I was sleeved) and a small slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. Then this one meal will be over and I expect to go on doing what I normally do the next day. It's funny because I always loved bread and dinner rolls but now I don't even want it because of how it feels. Bread is the only food that gives me a problem post-op.

    Yoga question - advice needed

I've never tried yoga but I'm interested. I worry that my bad knees would prevent me from doing yoga. The problem is that my knees pop out. I can't sit with my legs crossed on the floor. What looks appealing is that yoga would improve my core strength and balance. Can the postures easily be modified to accommodate my knee situation?

    Yoga question - advice needed

Thank you for the advice. I didn't know there were gentle forms of yoga available. A good friend teaches hot yoga and that just scares me!
  20. I think setting certain rules for yourself is important. My rules are 3 meals and two healthy snacks if needed. I do not graze. I track everything I eat on my app. I find these two things very helpful in giving myself control. The sleeve helps control the hunger. These are rules I feel I can live with for the rest of my life.
  21. The food plans really differ. I was on clear liquids for the first 6 days and then we went to regular food. No juices, Pasta, potatoes, rice, crackers or bread recommended for the first six months. Protein first (60 to 80 grams a day is goal) then veggies or fruit. No coffee for 30 days, no alcohol ever. The recommended snack for first 60 days was a Protein shake and then you could switch to a Protein Bar. No salad or unpeeled fruit for the first 60 days. Two multi Vitamins a day, b12 once a week, 1500 mg Calcium citrate a day. No probiotic was recommended but I added one on my own.
  22. Sister had rny and gained back much but not all the weight back. She didn't change her eating habits from day one. Drinks regular soda daily, fast food and lot and lots of chocolate candy. She NEVER exercises. The surgery is only a tool and not a miracle cure for obesity. I believe some effort is required for long term success.

    Search Works...

I can't tell you how many times I've searched "constipation" looking for help. I even posted my own thread on the topic in a desperate search for help. Sometimes you just hope there will be a new revelation on the topic.

    Mental Image Reset

I can totally relate to this issue. I can see it in the mirror and my feel it with my clothes but in a picture I think I look just as fat as ever as if I hadn't lost a pound. Weird.
