Hi, I am 48 yeas old and diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and since 2005 SVT and several other electrical problems with my heart. After two years of trial and error with my diabetes meds I finally was approved for the Gastric Sleeve. My surgery took place on May 4 2015 I weighed 220 lbs.  My bariatric surgeon is Dr Beth Shrope and the hospital was Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. My surgery went well, my mom came with me and said she went to get a cup of coffee and when she came back my Dr was looking to give her the good report. My hospital stay was uneventful except for uncontrollable dry heaves from the anesthetic. My heart condition does not allow for certain medication. I was fortunate enough to have both my cardiologist and endocrinologist visit me prior to surgery and before discharge.  All went really well and considering this was the first major surgery I had in 25 years I was thankful. On May 20, 2015 I had my follow up with both my surgeon and dietician and weighed in at 206. In almost 2 weeks I lost 18lbs.Blood sugar levels normal since surgery however I needed to be taken off of my beta blocker due o low blood pressure. I have only lost 4lbs since May 20 so I'm hoping I continue to go down.  All in all great decision. I'm happy
