breast, arms, and a little on the neck. It's the whole thing at one time. I will stay in Mexico for about 2 weeks and then return home for another 2 weeks of rest. Pepper you have not had surgery yet? Do your homework. Be committed and know what you are getting in to.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
nancy j replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Now you listen you last few pounds. You fall off Cindi right now. She has worked hard and wants to be in the 1 hundreds by the first of the year. Jump off her butt right now. How was that? Let me know if it works. Cindi those last few pounds will leave soon. When they do let me know! I will do the happy dance with you. -
That's right! They cut from one side to the other. They work on all parts of your body at one time. I'm really working hard to be in shape for this. This is not an easy surgery. However I been dreaming about having it now for the past year! I have so much skin it slows me down and I've got to much life left to live! It's not for everyone and I will be closely monitored while in the recovery phase. Hope that answered the question. Have a safe and happy new year!

THANKS Cindi!!! I feel wonderful. You have reason to be proud also. Congrats!

Yes when you are self pay the process is much faster. So do your research and ask all the questions you can. The more prepared you are the smoother it will go. I don't regret it for one moment.
The morning of my surgery Dr.Lopez looked at me and said, "blue eyes stop crying... I'm going to fix you up" And he did. AND my reflux went away. I know people complain about reflux but mine went away.
Good luck! -

Thanks for the welcome. I'm going to be having a 360 body life in the spring late summer. I can't wait. Thanks for doing the thread for us to read. It's been a life saver the past few days. I want to unhinge my jaw and tip the fridge up and suck it all in. LOL what a visual. Anyway I'm finding my way back to the wagon and hopping back with both feet. I'm on a mission now. -
Hi, My name is Nancy I live int the PNW. I was banded on 12/5/05 with a starting weight of 364. As of today I've lost 168 lbs. I've only had 3 fills. After my first 100 lb loss I went to work for the surgeon that placed my band. I still work with him but like every other band patient I need support too! Hoping to find it here. I just had my cosmetic surg consult! I'm going to have the 360 body lift in the spring. I can't wait. Happy and Merry to all this season, n.

The price is a little less the $10,000.00 and I'm looking at CosMed Dr. Quiroz. I'm not committed to this doctor yet. I was in TJ for a fill when I had my consult. I'm also going to look for a doctor in Oregon, where I live. Just checking around.

nancy j replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Snow is very new to me! This is only the 10th time I've ever been in it. I was born and raised in FL and moved to Oregon. I drive a small car (vw bug named Lola.. lime green) and when I do have to drive in the snow I freak out! And that eating thing...... I'm on a mission to get all the junk out before it jumps in my mouth. It was a salad and tuna with no dressing for me today. All you snow bunnies be careful out there.... nancy hoping to find the wagon again soon. -

Thanks for the welcome. Finding this forum sure made the snowy days at home more interesting! I wish our area had a meeting and they do but it's not really for support it's more like a bitchathon about family. I know everyone needs to vent but I really would like to see some positive come out of it. Good luck! -

Good Morning All, I can see by the time most of you are in a different time zone. lol It's only 6:30 where I live and now it's raining so the snow is melting and will be yucky by the time I need to go out. Suziecat- love the smilies and it might be the explanation to where they all come from! They regenerate them selfs. Tracy Ks- I see the ones in your near future and then I hope not to be far behind. Yesterday I cleaned out th fridge and when Bruce came in from work I fed it all to him. Now life can go back to normal around here. We have no kids in the house so normally it's empty and void of sugar snacks but, not this week. I don't dare get on the scale till Sunday! But reading about all you helps so thanks for the invite. Have a groovy day Violets. -
Santa Fe thanks for asking. I guess I should have let you know that first of all. I know they have a fill center USA in albq. but we were looking for a private doctor.

Hi Vi's I see everyone using crystal lite is that just cuz you like it? It makes my head hurt so I use very week green tea with lemon. Anyone heard anything bad about green tea? I know it makes me pee a lot. I love watching you guys check in. Currently it's snowing at my house. It's to cold to go out. So it's nice to have you shrinking vi's to read about. I'll tell you a little about me. I have 2 kids Nichol turned 29 yesterday and my son Adam is 22 . Nichol is in Altlanta and thinking of getting banded and Adam is in Portland Or. I live near Mt. Even if I fall on my BA DUNK A DUNK I look cute a hell. LOLOLOLL. Have a wonderful day. -

Good Morning , Didi your doctor give you a little green card that has your band size and ID number? On this card it states something about you having a gastric weightloss device and you should not eat more then 3-4 oz at a time. I show this card to places like that and they give me a special price. I eat the kids meal all the time. I travel a lot for work and eating out can be really spendy. Not to mention the salt and other crap they load it up with. oh sorry personal rant. Anyway nice to see everyone. -

But after reading this morning I'm back on the wagon. I even have a sugar headache still....... I'll be throwing myself feet of Dr. Lopez next month looking for the perfect fill but till then YEP I measuring food real close too. have a groovy day. -

Doctor in Mexico - Dr. Francisco Contreras
nancy j replied to man-inda-middle's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
2 years ago when I started looking at clinics I called Mr. Mills and he informed me the physician I was looking in to had not been trained on the Inamed banding system. For me this verifications was the starting point of my research. They may not tell you if your physician is good or bad but they can tell you if they have at least been trained. Wasabubble that's a cute name lol and CONGRATS on the weight loss and making goal in 3 months. That's fab! and inspirational to us all. Happy and Merry to one and all. -
Welcome Shannon, I'm kind of new here also. I've read the list for a while as well. Some nights it's better then a good book! Congrats on the 85 lbs!

Doctor in Mexico - Dr. Francisco Contreras
nancy j replied to man-inda-middle's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Man, Well I've not heard stories about the physician you choose. However if you're planning to use the Inamed band you can contact Mr. Don Mills at Inamed Health 800-624-4261 X4546 and he will tell you if your physician has been trained on the Inamed system. I went to Mexico for my surgery 2 years ago. I don't regret it for a moment. If you know the hospital you are using they normally have a website with s video to show you the facilities. Good Luck hope this helps a little. -
For about the first 4 months after being banded my mouth would get tired of chewing. My friends try to eat "like me" small amounts and chew chew chew.... it's kind of funny to watch them.

Need some technical help w/my signature...
nancy j replied to JustCallMeKelly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Tips....
Measure your food. Walk walk walk. Walking helps with the gas you may feel after surgery plus it's good exercise! For the first few months I walked about 2 miles a day, I lived in the city (portland or) and walked or took the train ever place. Now I live in the sticks near Mt Hood and I use a treadmill because it's so cold out.... I walk for about 45 min's on the treadmill. I know it seems like a long time but it's all part of the plan to be fabulous by 50!
Good luck and I look forward to hearing from you after the 26th!I'll ask the geek about the ticker! -
