I am a 46 y/o white female currently living in Utah. I had Lap Band surgery in 2010 (275 at my highest weight) with not much weight loss success.  After 3 painful slips, multiple visits back and forth to my clinic for fills and unfills, getting frustrated and depressed, and only a 40 lb weight loss, I have decided to go ahead with a revision surgery to gastric bypass (RNY.)  My scheduled date is for August 3rd and I have to admit I am a bit scared and anxious.  Not only of the surgery itself and the pain that will come with it, but of failing with a new surgery now that I have failed with my last. Trying not to be pessimistic though.  I have faith that things will work out for me and lead me to a better lifestyle and better eating habits. I am a carboholic and even though the lap band did reduce my portion size, it didn't keep me from eating all of the sugary sweets and starches that helped make me obese in the first place. (I obviously chose the incorrect surgery.) I am hoping that with my new pouch and malabsorption that I will be successful and learn to train myself to stay away from those evil carbs! I hope to make some friends along the way in this website. I have been a member of Obesityhelp.com since 2010, but that site always had a negative undertone to it so I am excited to try this one. Please join me and support me through this new and scary journey and feel free to add me as a friend. I won't be on here daily but will try to give to feedback and keep you updated throughout my weight loss adventures.
